Narvik takes a look at the situation and sees that there isn't much he can do regarding the ghoul due to the lack of space. Does anyone else need healing? Narvik will delay and wait for an answer.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Here was the initiative block. I should develop a better system to keep track of and display who's turn it is.
Block 1: Exitium, Pizzmic, Alia, Narvik
Block 2: Spider and Maurit
Block 3: Sunic, Ralklain, Wuliem
Sunic did the fist strike.
Wuliem threw the arm.
Ralklain ? - what did you do?
Exitium attacks and misses.
So, Ralklain, if he hasn't gone for the last turn.
Then Pizzmic, Alia (paralyzed), and Narvik (delaying)
Then Maurit.
Sorry about any confusion.

![]() |

Yeah matt you are doing a awesome job, i really appreciate you taking the time to run this for us
Pizzmic having seen Maurit lash at both Exituim, and the mighty Sunic decides he needs to risk a shot to hopefully drop the beast before it has a chance to strike his companions again 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 4 = 13 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

![]() |

Ralklain has acted for the second round, and Exitium has for the third already. Regarding me it's ghoul's turn. Narvik has delayed and Aria is unable to act. Exitium's and Pizzmic's attacks haven't killed it, or did they?
If not, then it's ghoul's turn.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Pizzmic aims valiantly and likely would have hit, but for needing to avoid hitting Sunic.
The ghoul Maurit tries to bite Exitium, and just lands a vicious bite on the tiger.
Maurit's bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Sorry, Ralklain. Hopefully Alia get's back on her feet in time. :(
Taking down the fearsome tiger, Maurit spins around with both claws slashing at the monk.
Maurit's claw 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 241d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5*
Maurit's claw 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
*Critical confirmation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 *Not confirmed.
Exitium's paralysis save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Sunic's paralysis save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Both successful!
Sunic feels the ghoul's claws rake across his abdomen ... but at least he can still move.
Alia: 2 rounds left on your paralysis.
Now Sunic, Ralklain, Wuliem and Narvik (delaying) are up.

![]() |

Let's go then!
Ralklain moves to N21 while drawing a dagger, and attacks the creature, hoping to call its attention in order to help Sunic.
I'll fight defensively +2 AC -4 Atk, and try the Aid Another action
1d20 - 2 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 - 4 + 2 = -1
Well, at least you're flanking Sunic, destroy it! One day i'll get a 20 on the dice, wait and see!
NARVIK! EXITIUM NEEDS HEALING PLEASE!

![]() |

nice thing about magical healing is it even while dying just one point of healing brings you back to one hit point regardless of how much you were in the negative.

![]() |

Narvik begins to mummer a few words and then will spring into action, stepping forward so that he can cast Cure Light Wounds on Exitium. CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

![]() |

Sunic looks over to Ralklain and nods listening, he unleashes a full attack hoping to drop the ghoul and end this charade. You've had you're chance to surrender! Now rest Maurit!
Full Round Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Fist Strike Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
does a full round attack give me 2 swings? And since I'm improved unarmed all my attacks count as armed. Just so it isn't stacking nonlethal. And where does my flanking and aid another bonus come into play? In the chance to hit or the actual damage?

GM FurtiveZoog |

The sling stone misses ... confidently, but fortunately Sunic just manages to connect with another powerful blow of his fist and the creature, Maurit the ghoul, collapses in a heap.
As you look on with satisfaction at your hard fought victory, it seems from the face of the ghoul - though twisted and gray by the curse of undeath - that she is satisfied, too.
As you search the body, you find three potions, leather armor, a dagger, a shortbow, a set of masterwork thieves tools, and an opal worth 200 gp.
I'll say that the contents of the bag from the spider's room also survived the fire.
You find 30 gp and a pearl.
I'll assume you are in the habit of casting Detect Magic. The other group forgot about the pearl and never used Detect Magic on it...

![]() |

Yeah I decided to use it in the room the turn I reloaded for that reason lol. And if i wasnt mistaken anything that isnt a comsumable item like the potions we have to turn in to the society and split its worth?

![]() |

Sunic rests beside Maurit on his butt with both forearms resting on the ends of his knees. He sighs slightly with relief beofre his mouth resembles the bitter taste that he feels. Rest... Just rest. I'm proud of your fighting, makes me proud to be your comrade. He nods slightly to himself looking down at his feet then up at Maurit.

![]() |

Ralklain signs heavily, looking to the tiger below him, without saying a single word. Are you ok Exitium?
I will be if someone heal me. Thinks the Eidolon.
The tiger gets out of the corridor, going back to the web area and standing guard. The human then aids Aria on getting up.
Are you ok Aria?
Potion2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Potion3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Pearl: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Now the freaking high numbers showed up all at once! *(%$#&$ you system!
Wow, that's a pearl of power, a powerful item indeed, but i cannot use it. It's meant for caster that prepare spells. That means Aria and Pizzmic could use it right? Maybe i'm being too selfish, but Exitium could use some extra healing, or specially a Mage Armor, since he can't stand too much damage.
What say our diviners?
I've taken no damage. Exitium has 6 damage.

![]() |

Pizzmic having detected magic picks up the auras of magic item and attempts to identify what they are:
The two potions spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
The one potion spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Pearl spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Ah we have found some great loot, the one potion I don't recognize but the other two are without a doubt potions of cure light wounds while the pearl is a magical item called a pearl of power. It allows us spells casters to cast one of our prepared spells for free, this is a great find indeed.

![]() |

Alia sheepishly stands up, with Ralklain's assistance.
Yes, yes, she says, a bit brusquely, angry and ashamed.
She stands a moment, and then clasps the holy symbol at her neck.
Gather 'round, if you have been hurt. She strokes Exitium's head ruefully.
[dice=Channel Energy]1d6+1[/dice]
Sarenrae's Radiance touches you, closing your wounds and alleviating pain.
Anyone damaged may take 5 points of healing

![]() |

In a shy voice, Wuliem states:
Pizzmic is correct.
Both of these two potions are of Cure lights wounds.
And this other one is grants Protection from Evil.
Wuliem looks at the group with sorrow in his eyes!
I must truly apologize for my ineptness during this encounter.
I promise to be more helpful in the future.
My experience in the field is truly lacking and I showed it here today!
He nods his head at Sunic, Ralklain, Pizzmic, Alia, Narvik and Exitium.
You all have done great things here today!
I thank you for your skills in this battle.
The Ghoul--and the spider--were truly great foes!

![]() |

Pizzmic seeing the mighty Sunic proving his worth for the second time today nods in satisfaction at the lumbering monk.
While reloading his crossbow Pizzmic walks toward Alia hoping to speak to her off to the side trying to offer encouraging words to the obviously shaken cleric Listen lass i can see you are frustrated but do you realize you stood the direct charge from a raging ghoul and lived? You without hesitation defended our party from a lethal ambush, what more could companions ask of one another?
Pizzmic speaks up attempting to deliver an inspiring message to the group to quell any doubts or inhibitions diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
There is truly no doubt this party was designed with greatness in mind each with a pivotal role to fulfill. Wuliem we were caught out of position by foes lying in wait. The venture Captain choose you for a distinct propose rely on your training and be prepared to be surprised when your instincts take over

![]() |

Alia appears noticeably uncomfortable at Wuliem's apology.
Let's not dwell on this: let's move on.
She shifts her pack on her back, adjusts her armor, and hefts her mace. There is an angry energy to her movements.
Let's go.
Aside to Pizzmic.
Let's not talk about it, right now. I know you're right, but... She shakes her head in disgust. Let's just not talk about it, right now.
Alia holsters her mace, and unslings her crossbow, preparing it.

![]() |

Forgive me, but i'll move us on.
The group moves to K28 and beyond. We searched the whole web area, right?
Me and Exitium will cover the rear, I'll stay with a CLW Potion, if it's not a problem .
Exitium the very last since it now lacks AC, Crossbow ready. I'll keep using the illuminated stones to see farthest.
Order is 1st Sunic, Narvik, Wuliem, Pizzmic, Alia, Ralklain, Exitium

![]() |

This is a fine group indeed. The half-orc says softly. And I am quite willing to be of aid, Exitium, no gratitude is needed. Let us see what the next chamber has in store for us.

![]() |

Wuliem bows to the group with an eager smile on his face.
Yes, let us continue this venture with confidence!
Lead on Sunic!
He straps his quarterstaff back onto his back,
stuffing his sling back into his belt,
and pulls out a bomb, easily fingering it with anticipation!

![]() |

Alia turns her head slightly, attempting to hear the howling more clearly. What is that?
She grasps her holy symbol, determined to show her worth to the party. Alia casts Bless: holy words and phrases are uttered, and a feeling of general wellness encompasses the party.
Bless fills your allies with courage. Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.

![]() |

keyword mournful? Pizzmic listens to trys and determine if the howl seems bestial (wolf, coyote, WEREWOLF) or if it seems more ghastly (like a ghost or something undead) perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

GM FurtiveZoog |

You are unable to tell what the howling is. It doesn't sound familiar. Something like the howling of the wind, and something like the howling of an anguished person.
I'll have Sunic open the door...
A mournful howl comes from a stone well in the room’s center. This large chamber’s walls, once painted with vermilion and gilded with gold leaf, are now splotched and crumbling. Unlike the walls, however, the tiles that decorate the well are untouched by the ages and gleam as if recently polished.

![]() |

Narvik will immediately cast Detect Magic, making sure to catch the well with the spell. Gnome Ninjaed! Quite odd how this well seems to be in such good condition. Not to mention the howling coming from it. Anyone care to take a look?
Narvik will step carefully into the room and looks for anything else unusual. Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

![]() |

Wuliem appears--once again--engrossed with the ambience of the chamber.
This is truly amazing. I wonder...
He steps toward the well, peering intently at it.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
know arcana: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

![]() |

Ralklain closes the door when everyone's in and casts guidance on Exitium. He moves to E28 with crossbow ready to shot anything not natural. The eidolon remains at H28.
We must hurry or the bless will end.

![]() |

Pizzmic noticing that majority of the party is preoccupied with the curious howling from the well decides to cauciously hold back aiming at the double doors to the north ready-ing an action to fire at anything hostile that enter through them. to clarify the north wall is the top of the map correct?

![]() |

Actually at E28 i can see the double doors and the well at the same time (at least i think i can), and i also have a clean line of shot to the door we just came in.
If the double door has not enough light so we can see it clearly i'll toss a illuminated rock close to it at the floor.
@Pizzmic: No, it's to the left.

![]() |

Sunic looks up as he enters the room and locks onto the well, he notes the sound as being horrific to him and stands at a distance, then surveys the roomPerception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
He will end at h26

GM FurtiveZoog |

Wuliem's save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Wuliem hears in his mind, like a voice echoing out of the centuries and sustained by some unimaginable anguish or trauma, Jump in the well! End it all! End your suffering! But, he is much too strong for such suggestions!
At the bottom of the well, perhaps 15 to 20 feet down on hard stone, lies what appears to be an ancient medium-sized human or humanoid skeleton.
Wuliem seems to pause as he looks into the depths of the well, but then shrugs some little weight off his shoulders, and perhaps almost laughs.
Since Wuliem is going to be gone for a bit, go ahead and read the spoilers and assume he relayed the information to you. (Except the religion one below, which Wuliem doesn't necessarily know.)
This appears to be a 'haunt', an undead-like occurrence caused by some ancient tragedy. They can be stopped, at least temporarily, by holy energy - like holy water or a good cleric's channeling - but there is with each some special solution to make the haunt permanently stop.
