Spasi moves so he can see, trying to stay well away of whatever is about to eat Clem, but maybe close enough to help.

He will relate what he sees to Rhese and Bibic when he knows what is what.

Had to wait until after the baddies but I don't think I can do anything to save Bibic.

Rhesus will hammer on the magic barrier once he gets there.

Not sure how far away I am or if I'll be able to get an attack this round.

Bibic has Fire Resistance (30), the longest duration application in the group, no less - I imagine he is healthier as a result? At 80/86HP?

Hearing a yelp from the room that Bibic still hasn't yet returned from and then the elf bursting into his usual dramatic overacting, Clement becomes more alert and observes as Rhesus either does some impressive mimicry or crashes into some sort of invisible wall.

"What's going on??"

Never quite be at ease in an ancient Runelord fortress, Clement takes flight and heads towards Bibic, seeing if the elf poked himself on a fork or was facing something more dire.

Is there a top to the invisible wall? Clement will check where it meets the ceiling. Otherwise if Spasi is presenting an option to Dimension Door/Teleport past for faster relief of our elf, Clement will join in that. There is always Breath of Life (touch) if needed.

lol - I had no idea I had resist fire 30. If so, then yes, I took 12hp of damage and am at 74 and whining fitfully as Clement describes!

As I'm not dead on my initiative, I'll try a dispel magic on the illusory ceiling and will begin my Bardic performance.

"Ah, let's just get in there. No telling what trouble Bibic has found with out us," Spasi will cast DDoor and put the party into the room, with others closer to Bibic, and keeping him a bit further back.


@Clem: There's no top that you can feel

Spasi has no issue transporting the other members of the party into the room.

Bibic counteracts the spell, and the illusory ceiling dissipates, revealing a similarly styled but higher ceiling behind it. Behind it are three strange creatures surrounded by a nimbuses of near-blinding light. Each looks something like an emaciated child with clawed hands. (Know Planes DC27: They shining children, a type of evil outsider)

Removal of the illusion also reveals a trio of ornate, glowing sigils marked on the ceiling. @Bibic: make 3 DC25 will saves, or be driven insane. (Functions as a permanent confusion effect)

Anyone who looks up must make the same saves.

Seeing the Bibic shrug off the effects of their fires, two the creatures pepper the party with greater dispel magic bursts, while the third launches a beam of hellfire at Spasi

Bibic will begin inspiring the party again as he re-casts Echolocation. He keeps his eyes down and away from the ceiling, though the Echolocation, once cast, will show him what he needs to ‘see’.

He readies his bow.


I'm not sure the logistics of moving without looking where you're going, but let's just say sure.

Rhesus glides up and starts wailing on the creature, but it does not dissipate. Spasi's bolts whiz in, but the creature lingers on.

The wounded creature strikes back, while its compatriots fires a couple of rays at the barbarian.

Clement continues to shield his eyes from whatever is above them, not wanting to fall victim to the same mental influence that briefly overtook Bibic.

Clement would keep delaying and being prepared to use a Greater Restore or whatever else is necessary to keep Bibic and Rhesus fighting whatever is above them.

The room at the end of the hall appears to be a shrine dedicated to some long forgotten goddess. Strange glyphs crawl like living things across the walls and obsidian pews float lazily in a haphazard arrangement before an unusual statue of a six-winged, mouthless woman. Her outstretched hands hold forth a perfectly preserved ceremonial robe of fanciful design and a silver, seven-pronged helmet in the shape of the Sihedron rune rests on her head.

Figuring out what spells we need to apply should be a priority. Clem is okay rolling without Tongues, but would certainly like a fresh Heroism from Bibic or Spasi. Clement will apply a fresh resist to Rhesus and anyone else missing it, just need to know who so we can figure out the durations.

Clement reaches out to hold Bibic in the main room while they scope it from the doorway. About to deliver words of caution, Clement hesitates while Spasi delivers the same message in a more straight-forward manner.

"I... don't see any silverware we need in there either or anything that would help us off the ol' runelord wherever he's really hiding at in this place. Perhaps we close the door and move on?"

Pushing open the door reveals a crystal dais supports an intricate chair cast from black metal in a delicate web-like pattern. Anyone with ranks of appraise recognizes that it is made of adamantine and is incredibly valuable.

Sets of tiny glyphs, each set glowing in a different color, crawl over the ceiling, floors, and walls of the room, while a slowly spinning rune-carved disk floats in the air before the chair.
