You already have permission to pursue Lamm, which is enough cause from the law of men as I see it. Divine law is more important, and our cause is recognized from both Tolenn's goddess and mine. Sarenrae to redeem the children who have been unjustly forced into a life of wickedness, and Calistria to put down those who have chosen this path willingly.

I understand--I can do the talking when the time comes to speak with Lamm's thugs, and if you'd prefer you can keep your distance from us. You could wait outside for us to drive our quarry to you if that suits you better, or come inside separately from us. I admire your faith, but these men are like vermin--they scurry away from the light. We need to coax them out with a glimpse of darkness.

Here's my Gather Info roll when needed--this is to track down one of Lamm's midlevel employees, either his current whereabouts or any joints he frequents at night. Add 1 for charming if applicable. Gritz (and Tolenn, if you decide to come with us instead of the other group), maybe you can aid another? If anyone is hesitant to give me info, I'm not opposed throwing a few silvers their way to loosen the tongue.

Agreed--after we leave here, let's enact our plan. Tonight we gather what information we can, hopefully capture one or two of Lamm's thugs. Either way, meet up back at the temple of Calistria. Tomorrow night we strike. Yes we have to wait a little longer than a daytime assault, but in the nighttime there should be fewer workers there, if Lamm even has any legitimate workers, and less chance to be seen on our approach.

Yep, it's a 2 phase plan. Daud, Pyron, and Rakdon are going to stake out the fishery and try to catch one of Lamm's solitary thugs leaving the place and bring him back to the temple (or back to Zellara's if she'll agree to it). Me, Gritz, and Tolenn are going to ask around for one of Lamm's dealers. I got an 18 Gather Info roll, +1 if I can find someone attracted to men to ask (a barmaid perhaps? ;-) ), possibly aided by Gritz and Tolenn, and possibly aided if necessary by a few silvers if any such person is on the fence. Once we get word of a hangout of one or more of Lamm's dealers, Gritz and I are going to go to said place together posing as potential customers/suppliers (Gritz the drug manufacturer, me the "middle man"). Tolenn is going to enter separately and keep a disapproving eye on us as she doesn't feel comfortable participating in the skullduggery. But if we can get the guy to believe us and meet us outside, she can slip out and help us capture the guy. I'll keep up my current disguise or, if too much time has passed or something, I might use disguise self for the initial meeting (but at the least I will conceal my holy symbol, and as of right now I am very lightly armed). Is that good? Let me know if you need any more info for our plan. I think everyone is on board.

Let's go to the fishery. If we get anyone, we'll head to the temple first. Since I am still in my uniform, I will be off-duty hanging out with my friends. It may make a few people at the fishery uncomfortable, but I only care about relaxing at this point and taking a stroll with my friends. Though I can always pick up some peasant's clothes and put it over what I am wearing for now. Let's first drop by somewhere I can pick up a quick outfit. Is there a pub in that area?

I say one map, I don't know what the book says, nor do I have it, but going out of order screws up the storyline, especially if you get places you aren't suppose to be until much later, I say we just head to the next area. I'm here for the story. Others can split up if they want, but I'm heading to wherever I'm suppose to go, I don't want to find out something before I'm suppose to.

Honestly, I'd say do it old-school with no maps. I've done a lot of PbPs and maps are helpful for big combats, but they're not necessary for all little encounters, IMO. Rakdon--don't worry, the story will progress as it's supposed to. There are some elements that are linear, butnot all. That's what's cool about an urban campaign--we can interact around the city. Thank you Zellara. That would really help out. Pyron heads over to the chest and finds an outfit that fits and is unassuming. He goes to a room that she can point out to him for him to change. Coming out, he offers his folded clothes to her and asks if she could hold onto them until he comes back. He still has all of his normal non-travelling gear, weapons, and armor. I am ready to go. Let's head on out.

If anyone has anything to say before Pyron and his crew leave, go ahead. I am going to continue furthering the story now. Pyron exits the house and starts his way towards the fishery. He maintains constant vigilance. He takes 10 on all perception checks totaling 10 until he gets closer to the fishery. He leads the crew on the way there.Does anything happen on their way before he reaches the street/alley that the building in question is located? Once he reaches the street/alleyway, he takes his time to look both around them and down the street/alleyway towards the building in question before going down the way. After taking 20, what does he see?


Fishery Stakeout:
A man stumbles out of the fishery, clutching a bottle of spirits that he continuously takes swings from. He mumbles to himself about "stupid kids" before he drunkenly walks down the path. As he approaches closer to your point in the alley, he starts to hum a jaunty tune involving a sailor's mistress, a sea monkey and a typhoon.

He is right in front of your location. Do you wish to jump him?

Finding a Dealer:
You find a barmaid willing to talk about Lamm. She pulls Gaius into a private room and whispers:

"We'd be best to keep this secret. Lamm's reputation for making people 'disappear' terrifies us folk. If you're looking for one of his dealers, you'd have some luck down at the docks. Every morning, one of his handlers sells the fishermen some disgusting slop of fish remnants and chum that apparently 'nourishes' them while at sea. That'd be your best way to get a meeting with Lamm..."

She trails off before perking up suddenly in alarm.

"We can't let anyone suspect I talked to you about Lamm. I have to think of...is that a Calistrian amulet around your neck? You're an Inquisitor! Quick, kiss me!"

With that, the barmaid pulls you into a tight embrace and puts a fiery kiss on your lips.

Keep it PG-13. Just ruffle up her clothes, mess up her hair to make it appear that's you had a quick rendezvous instead of an information exchange...

He's standing right in front of your alleyway, too drunk to notice you in the darkness of the corner. It is also nightfall, which increases your Stealth DC that he had to overcome. Needless to say, he failed and he's wide open. How you wish to secure him is up to your discretion. May I suggest lassoing him in like a turkey?

GM Fenwick--would Zellara allow us to bring any prisoners back to her house for the night? If not, our meeting place will have to be the temple of Calistria (probably more forgiving of our activities than Sarenrae's clergy, hehe).

Gaius admires the woman's courage to stand up for those oppressed by Lamm's cruelty, and appreciates her clever plan to keep their meeting discreet. He returns the kiss in earnest, then responds to her information honestly.

Thank you for your help--I give you my word that Lamm will be dealt with, swiftly and harshly.

To keep up the barmaid's ruse, Gaius grins as he walks out of the room a few steps ahead of her, making a show of "lacing up his breeches" as he emerges.

He whispers to Tolenn and Gritz: We have a lead, but it'll have to wait until morning--down by the docks, we can catch one of Lamm's dealers. For now, let's go see how the others are faring.

So it takes a few hours to "gather info", I believe. Since we have to wait until the morning to follow the lead, would we be able to walk by the other group and see if they are still staking out the place? Is the guy wearing metal from what Rakdon can see? This affects what type of arrow Rakdon might use, he will try to take him with non-lethal damage, or deal lethal damage and finish him off with non-lethal damage.

@Gaius: Before you left her house, Zellara mentioned something about "not staining the home of her husband with the blood of filth" and asked you to do your business with "gathering information" in a place where they don't mind blood on the floor.

Having gathered up a tattered robe from Zellara's bundle of clothing, Tolenn was able to disguise her true nature somewhat from those passing by.

When Pyron saw Rakdon pull out his bow, he touched him on the shoulder to wait until he moved closer to the guy. When he silently moved in the shadows towards the guy, and as he came closer, he signaled Rakdon to shoot, which he did. Then Pyron came up from right behind the drunk, released his dagger from his wrist-sheath, put the dagger up to the guys throat, and said: Shut up. You are coming with us. Move foward. Make a sound and you are dead.

If Pyron has been given any items such as handcuffs from the guard, then he would put it on the guys hands with the hands behind his back. Then he would have walked slightly behind and to the left of him maybe one foot away, so still very close. He would then put his dagger back into the sheath and reset it. He would break the arrow in half, so it would be harder to see from another but enough so it could be taken out of him.

Instructing the other two guys to walk to the left and right of him, they moved quietly through the shadows to get to the temple.

Responding to Pyron. Thanks, boss, your plan worked well, let me know what my next move should be? Oh, and we might want to see if there are other thugs around, I highly doubt there would be just one, I'm expecting there to be like three dozen more. Rakdon says this quietly enough so that if there are three dozen more thugs they wouldn't be able to hear. Trying to keep up my paranoia
