"Smooth."
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

GM_Fenwick |

Assume that there are say...three kids with weapons in the front of the doorway, spread out like a wall across the squares. Behind them stand smaller, more terrified children in various states of filth and terror. It's apparently a rarity to locate tokens/minis for children in Pathfinder/D&D, so forgive me for a lack of a clear visual on the map using Skyrim children for the images.
Hookshanks' Stealth Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
You see that in the small gathering of terrified children that someone fails to blend in under your scrutiny. Though he wears a tattered garb of similar ruin and patchwork, you can instantly tell that the "child" with brown hair that's borderline the color of springtime grass is, in fact, a gnome.

Wednesday Daud |

Daud has a serene yet stern look on face as he addresses the the children. "If you'd kindly step out of the way little ones, we'll take care of the bad gnome, just like we did with the others. This nightmare is almost over."
Diplomancy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Pyron Firehide |

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 1 Obviously, Pyron was focused on the kids right in front of him with the crude weapons.

Gaius Tindareus |

Yargin is trussed up and branded like the coward he is. Giggles, well, you can see him lying there. Gob is away to someone who won't treat him cruelly. Oh, and Larks is in a Calistrian dungeon.
Gaius dismisses the Disguise Self spell, revealing his true appearance.
Then, to the horde of children: All you need to do is walk out the door to your freedom and none of these cravens will bother you again. If you have nowhere to go, I am sure Tolenn and I can find a place for you. In either case, leave us to our vengeance.
At the last word Gaius' gaze falls upon Hookshanks, letting him known that his disguise did not succeed.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

GM_Fenwick |

You see steel emerge in the lead child's eyes at your words, a steel that emerges like a He turns around with a blood-hungry roar and thrusts the pitchfork towards the gnome with a vengeance.
"Go to hell!" he screams as tears stream down his dirt-streaked face. "This' for my little brother!"
Attack Roll: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
Pitchfork Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
The attack misses, but the other children with weapons undergo a similar transformation. Galvanized by the words of the strangers that broke into the fishery, the other two children with weapons attack the gnome.
Attack Roll #2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
Dagger Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Attack Roll #3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Pitchfork Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Confirming the Crit: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
While the only attack that hits him is the pitchfork, a minor scratch at that, the fact that the children would attack him is a shock to Hookshanks.
What do you do? That was technically a Surprise Round...

Gaius Tindareus |

[ooc] Well, I know what I'll be doing when it's my turn. ;-) ]/ooc]
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Tolenn |

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Seeing the Gnome hidden among the children, Tolenn is about to speak when the others galvanize the Lambs and she smiles to see them turn the tables on their 'master'.
"Come Lambs, let us biggun's take care of your tormentor....run along now!" she calls out to the children, the waits for a clear avenue to engage the nasty gnome.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

I just finished the last final of my high school life. Thank God.
Hookshanks curses at being spotted and readies his weapon.

Lamms' Lambs {24}
Wednesday and Vuk {22}
Rakon {15}
Pyron {14}

Attack Roll #2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Attack Roll #3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Pitchfork Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
It is now Wednesday and Vuk's turn.

Wednesday Daud |

Unable to move into the room Daud will continue to appeal to the children to get them to leave. "You do not need to sully your hands litte ones. Leave this place and find happiness. We shall deal with the monsters."
Diplomancy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Pyron Firehide |

Come with me to the guards station, and then we will get you home safely. Pyron spoke in an authoritative voice. Then to the others, I trust the rest of you guys will handle Crookshanks. Of course, please keep him alive if you can like the others. Then to the kids, Follow me. We're leaving now.

Gaius Tindareus |

Gaius nods approvingly as the children turn on their former master. Then scoffs at the others' attempts at peace.
Their vengeance is well-deserved in the eyes of Calistria. Who are we to keep them from it?
The inquisitor then moves next to the cowardly gnome and strikes at him, but his anger gets in the way of his accuracy.
Move to the square above Hookshanks.
Knife hit nonlethal vs FF AC: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage, nonlethal, +1 trait: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Saw that roll, so I won't bother rolling intimidate.

Gaius Tindareus |

[b] [b]I trust the rest of you guys will handle Crookshanks.
Are you an HP fan? Because every time I think Hookshanks my brain wants to remind me of Crookshanks, Hermione's cat. ;-)

Pyron Firehide |

Funny! I thought the name was familiar.
Then I will let the children decide.
Rakon went right before the list. I missed that. I didn't realize it was my character's turn.
Pyron will use cast acid splash, then he will move ten feet to where I moved his marker.
Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2 Does he get a bonus to damage from his charisma or from another stat?

Gaius Tindareus |

Nah, Acid Splash doesn't do any bonus damage, unless you use a vial of acid as a material focus (alchemical power components). Also, even on spells in which the save DC is based on your casting stat, that doesn't apply to wands. Wands are assumed to have the lowest possible casting modifier to make the spell. So if I have a fireball wand, for example, it'd be CL 5 and the save DC would be 14 (the wand creator is assumed to have an Int of 13, the lowest Int possible to cast a level 3 spell).
The UMD difficulty for using a wand is 20, so even with your +9 you need to roll an 11 to activate the wand, then roll to hit, then roll damage. And actually, looking at it, Acid Splash isn't even on the Witch spell list, so you're always going to have to use UMD to use that wand. That's weird, I would have figured it'd be on the Witch list.

Pyron Firehide |

Then someone else should use this wand. I will roleplay it in the game later. Luckily failure does not expend a charge.

Tolenn |

Tolenn moves past her friends into the room, shooing children from her path as she goes.
Halting a safe distance from the gnome she levels her scimitar and says "Your judgement is at hand, villain!"
Intimidate , to demoralize
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

GM_Fenwick |

Sorry for the delay! Stupid senior forms...
Through the combined efforts of Wednesday and Pyron, the children lower their impromptu weapons and stand to the side and let you deal with Hookshanks.
Rakon's Magic Missiles hit and do damage.
Tolenn fails to intimidate the gnome.
Gaius' attack misses.
Hookshanks decides now that the tide has truly turned against him, what with the kids and all and the taller folk swarming him. He drops his weapon and flings himself on his knees, hands clenched in a plea. "I surrender! Please don't kill me!"

Pyron Firehide |

Pyron puts his hand up and orders the kids to go into the other room. Assuming they follow his orders, Pyron then turns to Hookshanks, Did you have anything to do with the murders of my parents? Pyron describes the situation.

Gaius Tindareus |

We won't kill you, not yet anyway. Get up and shut your mouth.
Gaius drags the gnome bodily off the floor and holds him.
Grapple vs prone CMD?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Anyone have more rope? We should tie him up and gag him so he doesn't alert Lamm to our presence.

Pyron Firehide |

Let me back up a moment. I forgot it was Lamm that you guys were after not Hookshanks. Please let me change what Pyron will do or say.
Pyron nods. We won't kill you. But you will be coming with me to my sergeant once my compatriots are done questioning you. Put down your weapons and I will let the sergeant know that you did not attack anyone and that you followed my instructions. This will help you.

Pyron Firehide |

Pyron takes the gnome's weapons, if he has any. Then he will put on a set of handcuffs on the gnome. You guys are free to question him. Afterwards, I will take him and the children to my sergeant. They are my first priority. I will come back with other guards to bring back the rest of the men. I wipe my hands off of what happens to Lamm, because these children are more important right now. Of course, please keep him alive if possible. Pyron beckons Tolenn to guard him. Then he goes to Gaius and whispers in his ear.
Once the questioning is complete, Pyron will take the gnome and lead him and the children back to the sergeant's office, unless something major happens that will affect this line of action.

Tolenn |

Tolenn's eyebrows raise at Gaius' forebearance, then produces a rope to bind the evil gnome.
Once Pyron has said his peace, Tolenn moves to stand above the gnome, arms crossed "Speak truthfully! How many others does Lamm have with him? Explain where he is and what tricks he may have in store."

![]() |

While they are questioning the gnome, rakdon will go aroudn back.
updated my position on map 1 to show what I mean.
And he will he examine what is there. perception: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (15) = 17
He will ready his 2nd magic missile of the day incase another enemy shows up.

Gaius Tindareus |

Tolenn's eyebrows raise at Gaius' forebearance, then produces a rope to bind the evil gnome.
Once Pyron has said his peace, Tolenn moves to stand above the gnome, arms crossed "Speak truthfully! How many others does Lamm have with him? Explain where he is and what tricks he may have in store."
I was going to pretty much say this exactly, so I'll have Gaius assist Tolenn's intimidate.
Gaius deathstares the bound gnome, awaiting the answers to his question.

While you walk around back, you feel the rotted floorboards give and plunge you halfway into the water. But it gets worse! A medium-sized shark sizes you up as a good meal and attacks you! Surprise Round
Insert "Jaws" joke here.

TEETH DAMAGE!: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Shark Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
The gnome quails under your stern gazes and shrieks, "That's all there is to it! I swear on my mother's grave that the only one left in this piss hole are Lamm and his stupid Crocodile!"
Anything in specific that you want to ask?
Also, you hear the sounds of a violent struggle outside where Rakon walked off to investigate.

![]() |

I did not see the shark with my perception being a 17? Or is it because I feel it got a surprise on me?
init: 9 + 1d20 ⇒ 9 + (11) = 20
Rakdon will Magic Missile the shark and he will then be out of level 1 spells for the day. damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
If he can will try to take a 5 foot shift step back onto land, if not, then there is nothing else he can do.

Gaius Tindareus |

Rakdon, you might want to consider casting defensively what with the shark right next to you trying to eat you. Might also be a good idea to yell for help so we can hear you. ;-)
GM, let me know if you want me to not read spoilers. In some circumstances I do, but I never act IC on such knowledge. Some GMs assume spoilers are read, some assume they're not. I'll follow whatever you prefer.

![]() |

I have no defensive spells except for daze.
and Rakdon does yell for help. but the DM did say you hear violent struggles, I assume that meant you would all hear it. I do have to kill this thing quickly and get away when I can, casting defensively won't help much as Magus don't have many spells. Next round, I'll probably take a withdrawal action assuming I'm not eaten by next round

Gaius Tindareus |

RE: the noise--you're right, I missed that. Casting defensively means making a concentration check to avoid drawing an attack of opportunity when you cast a spell. If you cast Magic Missile when the shark is next to you, it will get to make an AoO. If it hits, it can disrupt the spell anyway. It's best to cast defensively--if you succeed, it's all good. If you fail, your spell fails, but either way you don't draw the AoO. The Concentration DC would be 17 for a 1st level spell.

![]() |

Nevermind then, I don't want to risk a concentration check, so instead Rakdon does take a withdraw action to move onto the big ship, as he would have 60 feet of movement.
If you can't withdrawal because I'm partway in water or whatever, well then here it its.
concentration: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (10) = 14

Pyron Firehide |

It seems our friend needs help in the other room. If you have no further questions to ask him, I better take him and the children to the sergeant now.

Gaius Tindareus |

Once the gnome is handed over securely to Pyron, Gaius will head off in the direction of the noise.

Wednesday Daud |

"What's he gone and done now?" nonplussed Daud and Vuk will follow Gaius to the cause of the commotion.

Tolenn |

"I'm finished with him, Pyron, take him, with my thanks." Tolenn says
She then helps Pyron herd the children out the door and only then does she go to see what ails Rakdon.

Pyron Firehide |

Pyron takes the gnome and the children to the sergeant. Keep the taking down on the way there. Your questions will be answered shortly.

Wednesday Daud |

I'm sorry. *begins sending positive feelings*
