Alright then. It was fun while it lasted. Sorry for having my IRL business cause the derail.

All of your strikes miss, but the fey seem to get the message. They flee, howling and shrieking into the woods as they desperately try to douse the flames currently engulfing their fellow.

+300 EXP!

Update: I am on Vacation and have a week off from work. I will try my best to update with the adventure mod on my phone since I lack my computer.

Sorry to see you go, Rorgar. I wish you the best in your future games.

Bad news guys. My job has really been eating into my free hours. I've been given a little extra to help cover room and board for next year's stay at college, so that's exacerbating the cut on my free time. I'll try to post tonight if I'm not too tired.

Sorry for the delay,

GM Fenwick

Sorry for the delay. Back-to-back shifts have taken their toll on me. But the good news is that I'm relatively free for the 4th of July week and weekend. And has anyone seen Uruk?

Reflex against Fire Jet:

Pym: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Sor: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Vossi: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Unfortunately, Evelina's attacks failed to hit. But Ember's line of flame scorches the snow, melting it into a steaming slush to reveal three fey-like creatures. Two of the creatures are scorched from the intense heat, but manage to avoid the tendrils of fire that rush towards them. However one fails, and shrieks as its clothes and body ignite with a burst of violent flames.*

The creatures have nowhere to hide.

*If I'm not reading the rules for this correctly, please let me know.

Sorry for the delay again. I (finally) got a summer job and training has really done its number on me.

@Ember and Evelina:

Despite the heavy snowfall, you are able to see three very small figures armed with bows hiding behind the bushes deep within the thicket. They seem to be attempting to travel with the utmost stealth and caution, but are failing horribly.

They are at least three inches tall and display fey-like traits. But what separates them from the fair folk sighted in Taldan is their unnaturally blue skin.

Okay, you all follow Ember's plan of sneaking around the estimated area where you believe the arrows to have come from. Given your current and cautious pace, it should take you half an hour to a full hour to circumnavigate around the kill zone.

Please roll Stealth with a +5 bonus due to heavy snowfall that obscures your presence.

Dice:

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Keeping the initiatives

You all move back into the treeline, and place yourselves behind oak tress thick enough to shield you from any more fire. Catching your breath, you begin to plot how to draw out your hidden adversaries.

What say you? How do you plan?

Oops. My bad.

@Evelina, please turn that damage to non-lethal.

Okay, we're back in business.

@Evelina: You took 2 Damage in total from two different attacks.

@Ember: Yes.

Uruk, it's your turn.

I just finished moving back in with my family. Literally. It's 1:00 where I am in the morning, and I just want to sleep....

But I promise that I'll update come morning! Until then, goodnight.

Okay. Things have been busy on my end as well (final projects, etc.), so updates are going to be even more stretched out than usual. Sorry about that.

@Evelina and Rorgar:

You can't see anything.

Two more attacks come out of the treeline.

Attack and Damage:

Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Attack 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Damage 1: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
Damage 2: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
Damage 3: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1

Two hit Evelina and deal 1 damage and one hits Rorgar. Each of you need to make Fortitude Saves DC 11 to avoid being staggered for the next round according to the number of arrows that hit you.

As you move away, you can hear a whistling noise come out of the treeline.

Spoiler:

Attack 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Attack 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Damage 1: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
Damage 2: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
Damage 3: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1

Two arrows strike Ember, and one misses Evelina. While she doesn't take any damage, Ember must make a DC 11 Fortitude save or be Staggered for one round.

Initiative:

Uruk: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Rorgar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Evelina: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Ember: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

???: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

^ Understood. Have fun, and be sure to let us know when you return.

None of you are able to see anything through the falling snow. But all of you are able to discern what the fetishes are. They are the corpses of dead crows, and it appears that they were killed by very small arrows.

Evelina:

Local hearsay says that the dancing lights in the forest are responsible for this. However, it is unknown as to what those dancing lights are, or what causes them.

Rorgar:

There is nothing in the temple stories that relates to your current situation. At least the stories that you've been told, any way.

Ember:

The faint aura of cold magic emits from the ice that wraps around the crow.

Waiting for Uruk. Has anyone seen him?

You continue along your way, tracking the footprints that have yet to be filled in by the falling snow. But you round the next turn, you see something unusual. Feathered bundles and strange fetishes hang from the lowest branches of the trees in this part of the forest, swaying and shifting in the wind. All are stuck through with small pins holding pieces of leather bound around them.

What are these things?

Now that you've killed the monster, what do you wish to do? It is still relatively mid-afternoon, so you can either continue with your trekking, or make camp and rest.

Should be able to post after midnight tonight. That's the deadline for when I have to submit it to my teacher.

Sorry for the delay.

I have a huge project on the Smithsonian natural history museum that I have to present to my class. It goes over the relationship between man and nature, his effects on it, and what can be done to prevent the eventual degradation of the earth and why we haven't done it yet.

While I can't say that I knew the man, I am brought to tears by the kind words that all of the staff at Paizo have to offer. And as a PC and GM who spent a lot of time in Korvosa, I can safely say that using his book was one of the most entertaining and positive experiences I have experienced in the many years I've been playing RPGs. I offer my most sincere condolences to his friends and family.

The next time my PC (or myself, whichever comes first) sits down in a seedy bar, the first tankard I drink will be to his memory.

@Evelina: Yeah, Uruk landed the final blow. I'll be sure to clarify as to who got the final strike in for future battles.

Through the power of friendship combined effort, you have slain the beast and rescued Rorgar from its clutches. A bubbly rattle accompanies the death throes its body makes as the light leaves from its eyes. It is dead.

You each gain 150 XP!

What do you do?

Ember and Uruk, you both have an Attack of Opportunity. Are you going to take it?

Grapple check...

Grapple Check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

...you're still Grappled.

The monster attempts to drag you back into the foliage. As I assume you're all adjacent to poor Rorgar, you all gain Attacks of Opportunity against the creature.

Yellow eyes briefly flicker from a hole in the snow. Suddenly, a large reptile leaps out, as grey as the surrounding environs and at least six feet in length. It has a dragon’s head filled with sharp teeth, and two arms ending in grasping claws. A cloud of greenish vapor wafts from its gaping maw.

Teeth sink into Rorgar...

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage Roll: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

...and the monster manages to Grab him, initiating a Grapple without provoking an Attack of Opportunity.

Monster's CMB: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Rorgar, what's your CMD?

Also...INITIATIVE.

Initiative:

Uruk: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Rorgar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Evelina: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Ember: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Monster: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

The falling snow and the blowing wind make it a difficult combination to see any of the finer details of the landscape.

@Rorgar:

Despite the harsh environs that dampen your sight, you manage to see a sliver of movement through the white treeline. You don't know what it is, but you can tell that it's big enough to prove dangerous.

What do you do?

Any word from Uruk? I'll roll his perception for him if he's indisposed with IRL things if he doesn't reply in 24 hours...

When the groundhog said that there'd be six more weeks of winter, it turns out that the little guy really meant six more weeks of winter. Maybe its a familiar of the winter witches[/jk]

You continue to swap tales as you venture deeper along the path, all the while following the footprints of the bandits. The snow becomes increasingly deep in this part of the forest, where a windswept gully carves a path through a tree-covered ridge. A soft cascade of snow falls from an overhead branch, hissing softly as it strikes the ground.

Please make Perception Checks.

U NO READ:

Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Sorry for the delay again. It's snowing here, I've been confined to my bed with a horrible cough in my throat and general nastiness that comes with having TOO MUCH SNOW ASDJBNLJIASBK.

Updating gameplay tab in a few minutes.

Sorry I haven't been here for awhile. Midterms are coming, and I've been abstaining from the website because of intense studying that may decide whether or not I get into a major program for next year. I'll message Cimbria today and post an update in the Gameplay tab.

When Rorgar kicks the chest over, it shifts in the snow to reveal a small cache of shiny objects underneath it.

You dig up the chest to find inside of the hole...:

* Leather Armor (5)
* Studded Leather Armor (3)
* Masterwork Chain Shirt
* Light wooden shields (2)
* Longswords (7)
* Spears (2)
* Masterwork Dagger
* Light Crossbow (3)
* 25 Bolts

Anyone who approached the chest.

Okay. I just checked in with my future roomate. Rorgar is right. It has to be a natural 19 or 20 for there to be a crit. Whoops.

So...yeah, remember when I said 10 damage? Kindly take that down to 5 please if you got hit.

The book says that the trap crits on 19/20, and I have to roll to confirm said crit as per the usual. And yes, anyone that approached the chest is within range of the swinging log.

When I die, I want my group project members to lower me into the ground...so they can let me down one last time.

You hear something snap, and have no time to react before a large log covered in spikes comes swinging at you from the tree tops.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Confirming the Crit: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Damage (If Hit): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

...anyone who has an AC lower than 19 takes 10 bludgeoning and piercing damage.

You notice nothing wrong at all with the chest. It is just as it is: a chest half-buried in the snow, probably abandoned by the bandits in their haste to escape with Lady Argentea.

You follow the footsteps that lead deeper into the forest, bracing yourselves against the gusts of wind that seek purchase through your winter clothing. As the trail enters the full expanse of the Border Wood, the trail passes through a small clearing among the taller trees before continuing uphill and out of sight. A large chest lies half-buried in the snow, apparently dropped or discarded by those who hastily passed this way.

What do you do?

Waiting for Cimbria. She can spawn in as appropriate, so I'll try to keep combat a long way to give her some time to come back.

From the way his body reacts to the melting ice, you can tell that this was not a natural freezing. The stump where his sword arm was once attached shows no signs of having bled out. It is most likely that, judging from the way the blood was clotted, that he had been encased in ice by some sort of cold magic and that his body was entirely frozen before someone (or something) proceeded to gleefully carve away body parts, like the sword arm.

^ From the degree of freezing, you can tell that this corpse had been frozen over the course of at least two days. Had you rolled higher, you would have gotten a narrower time frame.

After blasting the breastplate and masterwork sword from the frozen man's hands, you take a last look around the scene of carnage, and then to the frozen tracks that lead off to the south (A4). Do you wish to proceed now?

Concentrated heat will melt it. You could use Spark and light some firewood scavenged from the ruined carriage (takes at least an hour) or use Fire Jet to heat the body enough to melt the ice off (10 minutes).

Inside of the carriage, you find two of Lady Argentea's dead handmaidens. Of monetary value, you find a wide assortment spare clothing worth 90 GP when resold.

Evelina's sharp eye for details yields a jewelry box hidden under the seat. The bandits must have missed it in their haste to make off with Lady Argentea. The box contains:
* Lady Argentea's Signet Ring
* Pair of earrings (25 GP)
* Pearl-inlaid bracelet (90 GP)
* Assorted gold and silver necklaces (75 GP)
* Sapphire Pendant (50 GP)

Do you wish to take the time to defrost the frozen guard captain for his breastplate and masterwork sword? Depending on your method of defrosting, it may take up some time.

I will be making a document for the loot for our organizing and dividing convenience Expect the link for it to go up sometime today.

We now return you to your frozen adventure. We hope you've brought hand warmers.

The zombies are identified as retainers and guards in the service of the currently missing Lady Argenta, if the heraldry on their armor.

There is a frozen statue at A3, bearing a captain's breastplate emblazoned with Taldan heraldry. From its looks, you can estimate it to be a hefty fortune, as well as the masterwork longsword encased in a chunk of ice, still grasped by the poor sod's icy grip.

You may...

* Look into the carriage. You never know what they left behind...

* Follow an obvious snowy trail deeper into the woods. Whoever made them were unable to mask their presence due to the heavy snowfall.

Sorry. I've been readjusting to college life for the spring semester, and it's been taking its toll. Adding the fact that my computer Short-circuited like I mentioned earlier, things have been pretty rough for me this month.

tl;dr Been busy, but I'm not abandoning the game. I just need some time to get my life in order. Hopefully I'll be able to update this week.

Sorry. I've been readjusting to college life for the spring semester, and it's been taking its toll. Additionally, my comupter short-circuited and started smoking, so I've also had to deal with replacing my laptop as well.
