DM- I never got the result of what was magical and type and strongest from Timerus' detect magic...that could alter what we do.
Because Callie already did that, and took 20 on the Spellcraft checks to identify whatever was magic, as well as Appraise to ID the other stuff (which is why we have the costs of everything). With an assumption y'all were helping. I don't mind a reconfirmation of what is and isn't magic but I assumed we ID'd everything based on the GM's post listing the items.

I like the suggestion of giving the dagger and armor to Lindy.
Crain should get the thunderstone then.

Depends on whether you are going to take more levels in wizard, or stay in sorcerer. If only a splash of wizard, I'd go with the amulet. If you are staying in wizard, I'd go with the familiar.

I am going to stay Wizard. The whole point of sorcerer was that Eleazar never finished his wizardly training, but had an innate aptitude for magic (hence the Sage 'bloodline'), while it may have hindered me from a mechanics point of view, it worked from an RP viewpoint. - that's 1 for Familiar.

BTW, I updated the party treasure log in my character's profile, with my best understanding of what we are keeping, who got it, and what we're selling. I've also updated Callie's gear to note the items she took.
I will also note that Callie currently has the brooch hidden on her person.

Hey, all. I have taken a summer job in New York. I may need to take a hiatus from the game until August. Now, I don't actually know yet how consuming my schedule will be. If I am feeling like I have the time to give the game the attention that I believe it needs then I would like to keep it going, but there's a chance that I just won't be able to keep it up.
I don't actually leave until June 7, but I just thought I'd let you all know what's coming. Plan on a break for at least a week. At that time I'll be able to assess things and decide of I can keep it up over the summer or wait until fall. Thanks for you patience.

Fateweaver, thanks for the ADVANCE notice, you are a truly classy GM. Seriously, I don't know how many PBP GMs I've had that just decide to disappear and then pop in and say, "oh, sorry, I got a new job a couple months ago."
I am really enjoying this game; if you need to hiatus this summer I'd much rather do that than you try to try to juggle it all and then burn out. That said, I hope you can manage to do both but if not let's give it our all through the beginning of June, and then we'll see you when the job's done!

You do what you have to do, DM. I also agree with Callie. Advance notice is always preferable. I'll (hopefully, lol) be around when you get back from your hiatus.
Heck, best case scenario, the job is easy and boring, so you have plenty of time for DM'ing, right?!

A few actually. The one I have been going to regularly unfortunately is closing it's doors at the end of May. :(
I will be checking out some other local ones in the near future - At the moment Empire Games in Farmingdale is on the top of my list to become my new 'regular' gaming shop.
If you have Meetup, there are some good groups I can guide you to for RPG's and Boardgaming on Long Island.

Ok, all. I'm afraid the time has come. I have been very overwhelmed with my preparations to head east and I'm just not making it on to post. Check back in here in about 3 weeks. If my schedule is going to allow time to continue the game then I'd like to do that. If not, I'll let you all know then that we'll have to take a break until August. I'm sorry for the inconsistency and I appreciate your patience. I hope you all stick with me through this.

Hey, Fateweaver, are you here? We are approaching end of August so I am looking forward to this hopefully starting up again soon. Any word?
GM Fateweaver |
Hey, guys! I am back home, but the whirlwind hasn't exactly abated. I am currently trying to decide if I can resume the game and give it the attention that it deserves. I don't want to say it's on and then only get to post every once in a while. I'll try to have it figured out in the next day or two.
GM Fateweaver |
Hey, guys. I know I said "a day or two" and I obviously dropped that ball bad. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to continue the game. I had fun with all of you, but with grad school starting soon and two young children, in addition to a full-time job, I could probably post here and there, but it wouldn't be enough for me to feel good about it. I'm sorry I couldn't go further with you all, but thanks.
