Hello and hello!
Let this be the discussion and OOC thread for our game!
I've added links up top to two things. First is a Google Slides doc we'll use for maps, handouts, etc. If you could please add your character icons to that when you have a chance.
Second is a link to a skill macros sheet. If you could each fill out a tab with you character's skills, that will help me tremendously should a Secret check emerge, and with initiative, botting, etc.
Looking forward to our adventure beginning in just a few days!

slides don't go anywhere.

Friendly fire is ok unless it drops Fran.
I have played this so I'll let those who haven't take the lead.
Fran has the 'Convention Hero' Boon (from 01-13) which grants her an extra hero point during conventions.
It appears I need to update her statblock (she's level 5).
Provision: Moderate Healing Potion
5 Glyphs to share.
FieryFran

May I steal your alien? :)
FieryFran
|
agh. I'll update her statblock tomorrow (my time). I just noticed it hasn't been updated yet.
Lindevaile Tindome
|
I'll do the slides soon, the unread discussion activity had disappeared before I noticed it.
I have 1 glyph.
Nanoc Evitceted
|
Done with the Slides and Maps.
Lindevaile Tindome

Lindevailê Tindómê has not played #6-01. Leveled out of range before it was published.
FieryFran
|
Playing it now with a different PC but she leveled out of range long before 06-01 came out! :)
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus
|
I can be a bit more towards the front, I'm just not a melee character so I don't put myself up front.
Nanoc Evitceted

Lesser Healing Potion for Pathfinder Provision.
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus
|
I'll grab a scroll of dispel magic just in case as my provision. Seeing as this group leans more towards damage and less healing I'll prepare more healing spells.

Nice to see that Eddie still has his hat. :)
Lindevaile Tindome

Lindevailë Tindómë has cleanse affliction as her standard scroll, and can heal somewhat well. Still would be nice to split that job between characters.
| GM Zoomba |
See: smart and experienced Pathfinder agents knowing to grab their Provisions without even needing prompting :p
Also with our hextet of Agents we will be at 24 Challenge Points at high tier Posting half for awareness, half so if my math is %$^% someone can inevitably correct me

I have played this so those who haven't can decide the order in performing tasks.
Nanoc Evitceted
|
I have run this game before, so I will leave the decision to others on choosing the tasks, too.

So, this season's main important arc NPC is H-E-S-L-A Embersplitter.
Should I type 'Helsa' again, well, whoops!

It looks more like Request or Coerce, and versatile performance is for Make an Impression or Demoralize, so rolling Diplomacy. Add +5 if Versatile Performance is possible.
Was this directed at me?
The GM allowed it for Eddie using their Make an Impression feats, so I took that to mean it could apply here.
The phrasing style I used references carnival barkers trying to entice crowds to see specific acts, so I thought Perform was appropriate.

I think it was more directed at me/the GM to clarify what sort of check this challenge/situation is.
In this context I think it makes sense so I'll allow it; Jack's roll is still a failure but you as a group still succeeded well enough.

Well, more to the GM, as the description sounded more like it would not apply. Lindevailë Tindómë uses Versatile Performance quite a lot, so have tried to read this very carefully.
I dislike the scenarios stating the skills, not the actions, and have to ask often. This felt like a border case a bit on the 'no' side so I decided to default to diplomacy but still ask.
| GM Zoomba |
Even if my roll was a failure, Nanoc’s check would make it a success, no? Or do we need crit/more successes to command them?
With these bears (or at the very least Red) a Crit success on the Command is needed
Normally Hostile bears wouldn't be commandable at all - this scenario and the creatures have some specific stat blocksIf you are trying not to kill them, in addition to the Command options nonlethal options could work as normal, as might strongly frightening them off.
| GM Zoomba |
Also silly me: I haven't given out any hero points yet! Let's give one for now to Briney for their keen investigative mind and prize-winning fishing skills and another to Lindevailë for her elegant and commanding dancing and not for making the GM constantly concerned about including the umlaut in her name :p

unfortunately, Fran has been perpetually short of cash or I would have already put a striking rune on my thrower's bandolier...
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus

Ya, and Eddie is usually pretty flush with cash. They still haven't fixed that issue since the dawn of time.

They can do that? So all of your throwing weapons have the rune effect? Nice!

I suppose you can put a returning rune, but why bother. If you run out, spend 2 actions to call them all back! I don't think it applies to alchemical bombs though. But yes, you can put a striking rune and one other property rune on the bandolier and it applies to all weapons attuned to it.

The phantom is incorporeal (and thus has a bit of Resist all non-force/ghost touch/spirit damage), but is definitely killable.
This combat's PC rolls so far (and its saves) have meant that to date its been missed a bunch and said Resistances took a save-for-half 5 damage down to 1, and another save-for-half from 7 down to 3.
Now, the haunt is obviously also a damaging danger off in the distance you can see the damaging supernaturally-charged rain appears to stop about 90 feet away from its center...so very helpfully essentially infinite range for the purposes of this map/combat., but trying to take down the phantom is very much not an impossible option. If you feel your own actions/abilities/equipment are limited than remember Readying to Aid an ally who may be better for the circumstance is also a possible choice.
this combat has been cited and discussed as being a Severe and in certain circumstances quite dangerous one. At your tier it definitely includes the multiple wake-up call questions of 'do i have a plan for incorporeal foes?' 'do I have a plan if my foe is flying/not in easy melee range?' and 'do I have plans to handle a recurring hazard in a fight?'
| DM rainzax |
So.
Is this last Phantom a Strike-able creature?
=)
| GM Zoomba |
Very very much. The Green phantom is a creature, as Strike-able and killable well re-killiable-ish? It's a phantom so in a v=weird half-dead quasi-state already as any of you.

Briney wrote:(Does Strategic Strike count as Vitality damage?)It does: Precision damage counts as/adds to the damage type of the strike. Which is unfortunate in this case as...
Brix runs the numbers and fires a well-aimed shot with his crossbow at the phantom. And the bolt strikes it! ...but the creature seems unharmed by the vitality-damaging bolt itself. The goblins does count around 20 sparking motes generated by the impact though. Again: the phantom here is NOT an undead nor vulnerable to vitality damage
This Strike clocked in 8 piercing, 6 vitality, and 8 precision.
Perhaps interpreting it as 8+8=16 piercing and 6 vitality (instead of 8 piercing and 6+8=14 vitality) would be favorable?
| GM Zoomba |
Ah: mea culpa! I was misunderstanding the Alchemical crossbow - I was reading it as the whole strike took on the traits of the bomb.
You are correct (in fact the 16 total piercing isn't only 'favorable', its accurate. Precision damage is always added/increased to the attack's damage instead of being counted separately unless Precision resistance/immunity comes in...Precision's weird Recon adding the damage now!
| GM Zoomba |
And after a quite tense start to the encounter you all pulled through!
We are pretty much at the end of the adventure - with some story beats and possible RPing to come shortly - so if any of you have Day Job rolls or other Downtime things you'd like to get squared away feel free to post them/roll them here now!

Fran dances (or performs) to Jack's ballad.
Performance(E), Dance, DC 18: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Success for 4 gp
Eddie 'Bo' Leetus

Eddie gives an impromptu lesson on Leshies at the Academy, the children however don't seem to pay much attention so Eddie stops halfway through and wanders off into the gardens for some alone time.
Downtime: Expert in Leshy Lore(INT): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Lindevailë Tindómë joins Fran to make it a dance duet.
Perform(Dance): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31 Unfortunately Musical Accompaniment can't be used for downtime, as far as I know.
