'Ya don't care about all these racial prejudices! Arrghh!' *spits* 'Ma father was kicked out of the community many years ago. So, I'll kill 'hem just like that, without emotion. Harr!'
He runs a little forward, rips the crossbow from his shoulder and shoots a strange creature.

We waiting for Uslad, or the Yellow Mite?

GM Faelyn |

Uslad. However, if he has not posted by tomorrow afternoon then we will skip him.

GM Faelyn |

Uslad. However, if he has not posted by tomorrow afternoon then we will skip him.
I'm an idiot... Uslad already posted his actions as per my previous post. Sorry, I was out with the family yesterday and my son got sick inside the car while we were two hours away from home so I was a little frazzled yesterday.
Group 1 - Sune, Padesat, Blue Mite. Group 2 - Yellow Mite, Uslad, Centipede, Igor. Group 3 - Syllyn, Juhnavi, Red Mite.
Round 1, Group Two Recap
Uslad moves into the cavern and fires his crossbow, but the bolt goes nowhere near any of the creatures. Igor runs forward and makes a fantastic leap across the small river while Scraps remains on the other side. As soon as Igor lands nearby, one of the mites (Yellow) draws a dart and chucks it towards him, but misses! However, the giant centipede scurries forward and bites down on Igor's shin, barely puncturing the skin, but Igor immediately feels a burning in the wound! Poison! Give me a Fort Save DC 13.

Centipede - 5/5
Igor - 13/14 (Poison)

![]() |

Syllyn will march forward, just barely making it into the stream, and then scream at the centipede.
1d6 ⇒ 1 sonic damage and dazed if DC 15 fort save not made, half damage and no daze on successful save.
"Out of our way or pay!" Syllyn has dealt with many a centipede in his youth, though non as large as this one.

GM Faelyn |

Going to be busy today... If I get the chance today, I will wrap up this round of combat. If not today, then I will definitely have it done tomorrow.

![]() |

At first I thought that fort save was for GM Faelyn being busy :)

With groans and with bitter anger in his eyes (obviously due to his own miss) Uslad comes to the river and raises his crossbow. On the way he mutters something in a strange language to the attacker's side.
Deciding to reinforce his speech something more persuasive than words, he shoots. (blue)
Crossbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 251d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

GM Faelyn |

Uslad, I'll use that as your Round 2 actions when your turn comes up as you already posted actions that I missed for Round 1.
Group 1 - Sune, Padesat, Blue Mite. Group 2 - Yellow Mite, Uslad, Centipede, Igor. Group 3 - Syllyn, Juhnavi, Red Mite.
Igor Dex Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2 Igor takes 2 points of Dexterity damage from the poison.
Centipede Fort DC 15: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Round 1, Group 3 Recap
The centipede's poison burns into Igor's muscles, causing them to cramp up and restricting his agility a bit, making him feel more sluggish than normal. Luckily for the strange alchemist, Syllyn moves forward and lets loose with an inaudible scream! Immediately the massive insect lets out a disturbing shriek of pain and then abruptly stops moving. (It's Dazed for 1 round.) Juhnavi moves quickly towards the melee! The last mite moves up and throws a dart towards Syllyn that quickly lodges into the nagaji's thigh!
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d3 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 + 1 = 2
Round 2, Group 1 Actions!
Bog: If a square is part of a shallow bog, it has deep mud or standing water of about 1 foot in depth. It costs 2 squares of movement to move into a square with a shallow bog, and the DC of Acrobatics checks in such a square increases by 2.
Blue - 3/3
Red - 3/3
Yellow - 3/3
Centipede - 4/5, Dazed 1 round.
Igor - 13/14 (Poison -2 Dex)
Syllyn - 8/10

Sune watches as Padesat's blow goes wide, but she takes a moment to skewer the centipede on her razor-sharp polearm. It penetrates its back, with the tip emerging from one of its eyes.
MW naginata: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 261d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
CRIT?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 233d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 8, 2) + 9 = 23 I don't usually like to assume something is dead, but with a 4x crit on a naginata, this looks to deal 34 dmg.

GM Faelyn |

I have to testify at a bench trial in a few hours, so likely won't have an update until tomorrow. Sorry folks...

GM Faelyn |

Group 1 - Sune, Padesat, Blue Mite. Group 2 - Yellow Mite, Uslad, Centipede, Igor. Group 3 - Syllyn, Juhnavi, Red Mite.
Round 2, Group 1 Recap
Padesat moves into, what he hopes, will be a flanking position with the centipede and attacks; unfortunately, the lithe insect scurries out the way... and directly into Sune's naginata! A satisfying crunch echoes along the tunnel as ichor sprays all over the three mites! One of the little fey chatters into Undercommon before suddenly drawing its dagger and stabbing Padesat into the thigh and then taking a step back!

Round 2, Group 2 Recap!
Igor stumbles forward and crushes the skull of the nearby mite with his morningstar! The tiny fey lets out a pitiful squeak before collapsing to the ground. Scraps buzzes across the the stream and attempts to bite on of the mites, but misses! Uslad follows up Scraps' attack with a crossbow bolt that streaks between the homunculous and its target to embed into the shoulder of another mite! The cover provided by his companion kept the projectile from being a completely lethal attack.

![]() |

Syllyn starts up a martial rhythm, every movement producing a thudding sound whether striking his shield or the rhythmic splashing as he crosses the stream. The beat is infused with magical rage.
No attack possible as it takes a standard action to start the performance.
Raging Song (Su): A skald is trained to use music, oration, and similar performances to inspire his allies to feats of strength and ferocity. At 1st level, a skald can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. For each level beyond 1st, he can use raging song for 2 additional rounds per day.
Starting a raging song is a standard action, but it can be maintained each round as a free action. A raging song cannot be disrupted, but it ends immediately if the skald is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action each round to maintain it. A raging song counts as the bard's bardic performance special ability for any effect that affects bardic performances. A skald may learn bard masterpieces.
A raging song has audible components, but not visual components. Allies must be able to hear the skald for the song to have any effect on them. A deaf skald has a 20% chance to fail when attempting to use a raging song. If he fails this check, the attempt still counts against his daily limit.
When the skald begins a raging song and then on each ally's turn, if the ally can hear the raging song, that ally must decide whether to accept or refuse its effects. This is not an action. Unconscious allies automatically accept the song. If accepted, the raging song's effects on that ally last for that ally's turn or until the song ends, whichever comes first.
Inspired Rage (Su) At 1st level, affected allies gain a +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +1 morale bonus on Will saving throws, but also take a –1 penalty to AC. While under the effects of inspired rage, allies other than the skald cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration. At 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter, the song's bonuses on Will saves increase by 1; the penalty to AC doesn't change. At 8th and 16th levels, the song's bonuses to Strength and Constitution increase by 2. (Unlike the barbarian's rage ability, those affected are not fatigued after the song ends.) If an ally has her own rage class ability (such as barbarian's rage, bloodrager's bloodrage, or skald's inspired rage), she may use the Strength, Constitution, and Will saving throw bonuses, as well as AC penalties, based on her own ability and level instead of those from the skald (still suffering no fatigue afterward). However, inspired rage does not allow the ally to activate abilities dependent on other rage class abilities, such as rage powers, blood casting, or bloodrager bloodlines; the ally must activate her own rage class ability in order to use these features.

GM Faelyn |

Yeah, we'll skip her actions for now and continue with initiative.
Group 1 - Sune, Padesat, Blue Mite. Group 2 - Yellow Mite, Uslad, Centipede, Igor. Group 3 - Syllyn, Juhnavi, Red Mite.
Round 2, Group 3 Recap
Syllyn begins a tempo that causes blood to rush and a strange feeling of rage build up in your hearts! Juhnavi seems to hesitate briefly at the edge of the stream... While one of the mites shouts something in Undercommon when he sees his companions dropping rapidly and then stabs Padesat in his thigh again! He then steps back to shield his severely wounded companion.

GM Faelyn |

Ugh, just noticed my last post coding was all messed up. Padesat, you took 2 points of damage from the Red mite.

![]() |

OK. Damage noted
I presume that Sune takes out the red mite. So the barbarian will move to the blue one and strike.

GM Faelyn |

Combat Over!
Sune and Padesat quickly dispatch the two remaining mites in a shower of blood! Where to next? Continue exploring this area? Or do you want to return to the other path you haven't checked yet?

![]() |

Sune looks back over her shoulder at the group.
"Well, what's taking so long?"
She quickly removes a piece of jerky from her belt pouch and throws it to Padesát's dog.
"Here, I've even anticipated a distraction that might cause us delay and pre-fed your dog. Now let's go back and check the area we didn't check!" she says, though she is actually continuing on past the cavern.
intuit direction, 1 continue on, 2 check other area: 1d2 ⇒ 1
One vote for continuing exploring this area. I'm liking the no sense of direction trait I've added to Sune, though.

![]() |

Syllyn gapes at Sune as she heads of in the opposite direction suggested, again.
"Sune?"
If she glances in his direction he will simply point in the right direction without saying anything. If she continues on, he will fall in waiting for her to realize her mistake.

"Pbbpt." Scraps burbles like a deflating balloon.

GM Faelyn |

Okay folks, need some input. Which way are you headed?

![]() |

I'm not surprised you are confused. Sune SAID we should return to the other path and explore the other section, then promptly went on to continue exploring the current area. We thought it was easier to just follow along than try to explain her mistake. Soooo... We are taking option #1 "Continue exploring this area"!

![]() |

'Stand! WHERE ARE YOU GOING!'
He tries to catch Sune hand to stop.
Grapple: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Regardless of the outcome, he mumbles under his breath:
'Blasted bloody air-spawn... with the earth-spawn of these problems would not exist... Arrgh!'

![]() |

Honestly, I don't care which way we go guys! The whole "I don't know which direction we are going" is for role-play, not to slow us down. If Usland wants to go the other way, then I'll change my vote to go the other way.
"What is wrong with you!" Sune shouts at Uslad. "If you want to go the other way, just say so! Let's go that way! I don't care!"

![]() |

"I concur. We thould go that way." Igor points off in the more or less agreed upon direction.

![]() |

[ooc]"No worries, Sune. Uslad was just role-playing the grumpy dwarf. I don;t really care which way we go either."[/b]

![]() |

I would have thought so, but a grapple check to physically stop me made me think he's serious about going the other way. I had tried to get us moving in one direction (with a dice roll to keep it neutral), then had a second. Then we had some DM confusion, a third from Igor, and then after we had a third, a grapple check from Uslad to keep me from going that way. I think I started all of it with role-playing my bad sense of direction, but we've now been six days trying to decide which way to go. X). Honestly, I don't care which way we go. :)

![]() |

Yes, it's 101% roleplay on my part. And I knew that you have roleplay it too (of course). I'm trying to play a dwarf with a VERY bad temper. You all have noticed, probably ;) This is the only such character I have, by the way. If you considered that I'm overreacting, write about it directly - the comfort of my companions in the game much more important for me than the dubious pleasure to play the "bad guy." Sune, about your roleplay of disorientation - it's an interesting trait, and it provokes the reaction of other characters. And this is great, because without such situations role-playing game turns into a mechanical throwing of the dices.
'Aye! Then we go the other way. Dwarf knows.'
Confident, Uslad goes first to scout.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
I think he is certain that he is hiding fine and now he would be punished by karma ;)

![]() |

Juhnavi seems amused by the argument. "It's not like we're on a time limit. We've already discovered the reason for the gillmen coming to this site, and Janira would be happy for us to take as long as we need to discover the secrets of this cave. If she had led the minotaur off, as she initially wanted to do, we'd had to rush through here to try to circle around and meet up with her."

![]() |

No worries, Uslad. I do like the grumpy dwarf...only we had three vote one direction and we were going back the other way (after the DM already said he was confused which way we were going). Just trying get a consensus, regardless of which way it is.
Sune shrugs and follows after Uslad, having already forgotten she was upset.
Okay, so I think we are going BACK the other way now, right?I.e. there may be some undead there...

![]() |

The dog remains seated wilst the party decides where to go.
The barbarian--every over-eager to prove himself--tries to anticipate the direction they'll go. Sadly, because of the multiple back and forth decisions, he merely ends up running in circles.
The corgi sighs, shakes his head, and covers his eyes with his paws.
