Ah yes, indeed they do. I'll save that spell for another time, perhaps! Bizzle will rush in behind the crazy monk fella and ready his crossbow for the first good shot he sees.
I'll wait to see how all this movement and such is resolved before making an attack. Would I be able to move into the room first?

![]() |

Ennoia patiently awaits for the spell to go off before thundering into the room and shafting any goblinoids that might have resisted or be unaffected.

"I really shouldn't be liking this, but it feels just like home." Al gives the biggist grin anyone's yet see on his face just before yelling "Charge!"
double move (60') can't see the map at moment, please try to put me where Mu and I can flank someone, if not now then somewhere the next round a single 30' move would do it.
Al shouts out

EndlessForms |

Ok, in the 'surprise round' I'll let Shu get his attack off, everyone can charge in, and Makena can start her spell (1 round so you'll have to use your standard this round to finish it-weird rule about starting 1 round spells in the surprise round).
Bizzle: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Old Shu: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Al: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Makena: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Mu: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Fruno: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Ennoia: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Inoklar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
goblins: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Initiative:
1. Ennoia
2. Inoklar (bugbear)
3. Fruno and Al
4. goblins
5. Mu, Makean, Shu, and Bizzle
Inoklar: 8 dmg
Goblin 1:
Goblin 2:
Ennoia is up!

The Aasimar finds cover behind one of the stone pillar, and unleashes a first arrow upon the bugbear, praying Falayna to guide her arm.
Die, foul spawn of evil! May Falayna smite your worthless soul with her grace!
Smite evil on Inoklar.
Arrow, smite evil: 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 3 = 191d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4

EndlessForms |

Ennoia puts an arrow into the bugbear before it has quite pieced together what is going on. It stands up and roars, putting its horsechopper above its head.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Affects Al, Mu, and Shu. DC 10 + HD + Wis. If his Intimidate beats that you are shaken for 1 round. The duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which he beat your DC.
Initiative:
1. Ennoia
2. Inoklar (bugbear)
3. Fruno and Al
4. goblins
5. Mu, Makean, Shu, and Bizzle
Inoklar: 12 dmg
Goblin 1:
Goblin 2:
Fruno and Al are up!

![]() |

So Al is shaken for 2 rounds, looking at the map I don't see where I can move and then where Mu could move and we would flank somebody without one of us drawing a bunch of AoOs so Al will move 20ft straight forward which should put goblin 2 in reach of Al's glaive.
Al breaks out in a cold sweat at the bugbear's roar but rushes forward and strikes at a goblin. "Minions, always cluttering up the battlefield."
glaive: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 - 2 = 25 for damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

EndlessForms |

Fruno moves into the room while Al strikes down one of the goblins. The other one moves up to stab back.
short sword: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Initiative:
1. Ennoia
2. Inoklar (bugbear)
3. Fruno and Al
4. goblins
5. Mu, Makena, Shu, and Bizzle
Inoklar: 12 dmg
Goblin 1:
Mu, Makena, Shu, Bizzle, and Ennoia are up!

![]() |

Bizzle, realizing that a sleep spell is already in the works, elects to fire off a crossbow bolt before the spell lands. Aiming for the other goblin,
Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 4 = 0
Bolt: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Don't get in the way, crazy monk! You distracted me! Bizzle yells as the bolt flies high over his intended target, obviously ignoring the fact that his ally is behind the goblin.

![]() |

Eh.. That's one big bugbear. I think it is time to use my great power.. what? "Mu, you old fool, you getting in way!" He yells at the same time as Bizzle. Glancing back at the other gnome, Shu throws up his hands in frustration. Deciding to change tactics he hurls the flame in his hand at whatever enemy might be left.
Produce Flame Touch Attack - shaken: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Yeah.. no.

![]() |

Bizzle makes eye contact with Old Shu and shrugs his shoulders as if to say Yeah, I know! He's hopeless!

EndlessForms |

Mu takes out the other goblin but distracts Bizzle in the process, who nearly shoots through Fruno's handy haversack again. Shu throws more fire at the bugbear but it dodges out the way.
Initiative:
1. Ennoia
2. Inoklar (bugbear)
3. Fruno and Al
5. Mu, Makena, Shu, and Bizzle
[ooc]Inoklar: 12 dmg
Makena and Ennoia are up!

Ennoia moves forward and continues her onslaught against her quarry.
Attack on Inoklar, pb shot, smite evil: 1d20 + 6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 3 + 1 = 191d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 9

By the time Makena finishes casting her spell, the only enemy standing is Inoklar, the bugbear. As the last words leave her lips, she hopes to put him to sleep, and only him.
Finish casting sleep... if Ennoia is directly in front of Inoklar, I think it is possible to get only the bugbear in the area of the spell, at the edge of the circumference. DC 13.

EndlessForms |

Ennoia puts an arrow into the bugbear while Makena finishes her spell.
Will: 1d20 ⇒ 9
As the spell washes over the bugbear, it falls back onto its makeshift throne, dozing.
Out of combat!
You've got a little bit of time to disarm him and tie him up before the spell wears off.
Inoklar carries a tanglefoot bag, masterwork studded leather, a masterwork horsechopper, 5 javelins, and a morningstar. He also carries several colored vials:
Behind the throne another tunnel leads to a small chamber. This chamber contains Inoklar’s bed and other furnishings. A search of the room finds a large chest containing Inoklar’s takings from the Nightsoil Marauders’ operations, including emblems and tokens of rival crime organizations in Magnimar: a set of miniature scales carved from black onyx stolen from an inattentive Night Scale thief, several Varisian scarves and knives taken from Sczarni thugs, an ornamental star of Desna filched from one of the Gallowed, a broken klar that belonged to a Shoanti gang leader, and most importantly, a golden Aspis Consortium badge. At the bottom of the chest, well hidden from her superstitious goblin minions, are Inoklar’s scrawled notes detailing her plans to take over Magnimar, as described in the adventure’s background.
Coming back out into the main hall, you find that Ekkie has pushed Inoklar's body out of the throne and taken the seat as her own. She uses the horsechopper, which is much too large for her, to pick at something between her teeth. She smiles as you enter in.
That about wraps it up! I'll have chronicles out shortly. Keep a watch on the Flaxseed Lodge page where I'll probably announce another low-tier scenario or two in the new few days.
Thanks everybody, I hope you all had fun with this scenario!

Thanks EF! Had a lot of fun with the characters in this one! We need to do another very soon. Someone needs to take up tailoring.

EndlessForms |

Someone needs to take up tailoring.
lol
Maybe Fruno will share what I wrote on his chronicle when he gets it

![]() |

I'll share mine!
"Needs to lose weight, apparently, after having trouble squeezing through a hedge."
"Made good friends with Ekkie, the friendly goblin."

EndlessForms |

Secondary success condition was to recover the Aspis badge in Inoklar's bedroom so you guys got it. Really can't fail that one unless you have to run away because it's not even hidden or anything.

Thanks for the game EF! I had much fun!

Written on Fruno's chronicle:
If any allied archer ever rolls a natural 1, the arrow/bolt must pass through Fruno's pants, narrowly avoiding his handy haversack and leaving a gaping hole, no matter where Fruno and the archer are in relation to each other.
Alternatively, if Fruno ever fails an Acrobatics check by more than 5,
his pants split down the middle beyond repair.
