What Kurth said. I hope if anyone's included non-CRB stuff it's a mistake. I haven't vetted every feat and spell personally, but I should have been more clear.
As for the number of groups, I am definitely leery of going to 3, just based on my own ability to keep up with things. I have 3 other games I'm GMing right now, plus i'm planning to launch a homebrew campaign next month.
I plan for things in the homebrew to be more wide open than in this game, but that game will probably move a bit slower and have other things going on.
Sir Culer: If you'd like to submit a CRB sorceror, please go ahead! For the others, if you've got non-CRB stuff on your characters, please revise.
If we get started and find thingds aren't working out, I can always open up other soruces for feats and spells beyond 1st level, or even allow for free re-training.
I only picked up Pathfinder in April, and never actually played a game of D&D in any of its forms, so I've never had the "classic" experience. That's what I'm hoping to capture here without crippling you as players, so if it becomes obvious that CRB isn't meetin gthe party's needs, I'd be open to changing if necessary.
Very preliminary list:
Group A:
Tanith - human paladin
Flynt - Human rogue
Njail - Dawrf cleric
Milloy - Elf wizard
Group B:
Emraeal - Elf barbarian
Kurth - Human fighter
Alice - Human rogue
Jalthan - Human bard
Alsterro - Human cleric
Kistle - gnome sorceror
Now it look like Yasmin is the only one not currently on a list. I will PM you about this.
Also, I'm not sure about keeping both Kurth and Emraeal.
Really, our martials are the only group really overbooked. So help me choose, even though it may sound cheesy.
For Tanith, Yasmin, Emraeal and Kurth - Are your characters based on any figure from fiction (novels/comics/movies, etc.)? Who would play your PC in a movie about them?
Thanks!

Hmmm, for Kurth I was going for an idiot hero seeking redemption. Sweetly amoral, naturally skilled at violence but committed to doing good, even when he doesn't completely understand what it is. Think Hellboy or a slightly more innocent Marv from Sin City. Not Forrest Gump slow but kind of dense and oblivious, more concerned with the image and actions of being a hero than the reasons and moral implications. Ron Perlman or Mickey Rourke could certainly work, but so could Patrick Warburton (who played The Tick in the live-action tv show) or The Rock (a la Southland Tales).
Can you explain your concern with having multiple martials? I built Kurth to be able to go more offense (two-handed style) or defense (sword and board) depending on what the group needed, so I could shoot for more of a tank role if you're concerned about damage output. I don't think we'd be breaking any DPS records either way - Emrael is a Str 14, Con 12, TWF-ing, Combat Expertise-ing elf barbarian, after all (not that there's anything wrong with that!) Yasmin's only half an elf, but she's all of a girl ;) Either way, I was kind of looking forward to establishing a friendly a friendly competition with another warrior who's significantly smarter than old Kurth.

Interesting! It helps me envision your concept much more clearly.
I don't think you guys will blow things away, and I should be able to adjust pretty easily if I need to.
Yasmin was submitted by a guy who's in a regular online group of mine, so I might do a private run for that group.
I tried to set up groups that had the right blend of classes along with a good mix of races - each group is 50% human, which seems about right for the setting.
Tanith and Flynt really wanted a smaller group, so I gave them the 4 PC team.
Anyone who wants to can submit a post liek Kurth's. It sometimes helps me get into your character, which can help me tailor things to you a little (I hope!)

Persona-wise Tanith is probably closest to Marvel's Hercules. He's a fun loving rough-and-tumble brawler without much of the stick-in-the-mudness that typically comes with paladinhood and an appreciation for/from the ladies. He's quick to throw a punch but he's also quick to laugh and forgive.
An actor who would play him? That's an excellent question. I'm leaning towards a young Ralf Moeller.

I'm going to have to swap out Njail's cosmopolitan feat for something else., I knew that race and class had to be CRB , but didn't realize everything else needed to be CRB as well. It hurts his concept a little but if you open up APG feats later I'll pick it up then. I'll probably replace it with lightning reflexes.
Thanks for for the preliminary pick.

Here is my Sorcerer. He has got some sweet face skills, which he uses before he resorts to magic. I don't have an official stat block yet, but all the skills, feats and spells are in there. I included the HP because I used my Favored class bonus for another skill point.
Emraeal Briskfury
All CRB here.
Yeah, as Kurth said I don't think we'll be blowing things away. For a barbarian I'm not designed to do much damage. I'm using flails and sickles because I'm taking Improved Trip at 3rd level. I kind of enjoy playing characters who are specifically not OP'd/built in a way that's off-the-beaten-path.
I didn't have any movies or people in mind when I created him. As I said, I tried to go for an interesting and unique concept for his build. I added a little background to his profile.
Emraeal is basically former wild elf of the Mwangi Expanse who was too smart for own good and began to question the long-held beliefs of his tribe. He became disillusioned and left home, seeking out other elven establishments to learn about his heritage. He has (mostly) given up his wild tribal ways, as much as any one can.
I've haven't totally developed his personality yet. Sometimes I find it's better to walk in with only a rough sketch and then fill in the details as the character interacts with others. It's a more organic development that way then going in with a list of traits that your character showcases.

That sounds good too Emreael - I've had my share of characters that are more of a concept than an homage to another character.
I checked out your sorceror Sir Culer - looks like another great PC. You guys are going to make it hard on me to pick! Just one question - I can see how you get +8 on Bluff and I can account for +10 of your intimidate score. I'm just familiar enough with everything to figure out the extra +2 to Diplomacy and Intimidate. What's that from? Thanks!
Sir Culer
The Persuasive feat is where I got it from. I put Eschew materials on my feat list because it's a bonus for sorcerers.
Sir Culer
No trouble at all, I've updated his money and possessions as well, if you want to take a look. I went and purchased a couple of scrolls if that is okay, otherwise I'll just hang on to the money and spend it later.
Also, if Kopoth were to have an actor portray him, I'd probably pick someone with Charisma and a smooth voice. Someone like Benedict Cumberbatch most likely, although with lots of makeup.
GM Derek W
Good stuff. The scrolls are fine by me, we'll just use the Society rules and assume minimum caster level and cost, if that's ok?
Tanith looks good to me - it was a bit easier since I've actually built a paladin and used the feats you've taken on various characters.
I'd really like to find a spot for Culer's sorceror, since he's really the only one without a place at the moment.
Tanith and Flynt, you guys were concerned about over-sizing a group, but would you mind if I added him to your team? Casters are a bit less gear-dependent and I think having a wiz and sorc in the party could work pretty well.

I hate to be a fly in the ointment, but how is your Sorc getting two level-1 feats, Sir Culer? Eschew Materials as bonus, but then you have Persuasive and Spell Focus.
Only non-Core material Alsterro has is the Cloak and the Mask, and I mostly threw those in for flavor. I can pull them out if you like.
Sir Culer
If everyone's okay with it, I'm actually going to switch to Bard. Same history, same feats, same stats, same spells (except switching Acid Splash to Message) and it's practically done. The major reason is that if I'm going to be in the iconic group, a Bard is a better 5th wheel and I really could do either with the setup I have going on. My Charm Person won't be at DC 18 anymore, but I think we will manage.
I've already gotten permission from GM Derek, so I'll have the changes done tomorrow. Tonight I have my IRL game.
GM Derek W
