Sorry guys, got a BAD toothache over the weekend. Dentist found root infected. Root canal today. No chance to track down map. We'll try w/o for a bit and I'll re-do it if need be in a day or two.

The group heads into the cavern. They find that the ceilings are low, being 5' high and sized for kobolds. There are also no light sources present.

Low ceilings = -2 to weapon attack rolls for Medium sized creatures.

The passage then widens into a cave.

This foul-smelling cave has thick mounds of moldy straw on the floor.

Everything's pretty well packed in. N to S it goes wall - Njail - Tanith - wall. The tunnel widens, but a single rank of four rats is in the way. One of those is dead, and his space hasn't been filled yet, so if you want to take 2 AOO's then you can work around for that.

With a flourish, Tanith casts the gore from the first slain rat off his big two-handed sword and brings it around to finish off another.

The last rat never stood a chance as the two warriors carve it into several meaty pieces.

Out of combat!

A serach of the room turns up nothing of interest. Just old straw, and the usual signs of rat habitation. The straw indicates that the kobolds may have kept them here intentionally, though.

There is a pathway to the north...

The team proceeds into the next room. Wide steps have been carved into the rock in each tunnel that intersects with this large cave. A five-foot-wide circular pit is the chamber’s only feature. The pit is the kobold tribe’s main water source, a 15-foot-deep well filled with 10 feet of water. It gives the kobolds a water source without having to go outside.

Passages lead out of this room to the north and to the east.

I just moved you along since there was only one way to go and this was a "safe" room. I'll need you guys to tell me the next move, though.

The party follows the eastern passage and soon the path widens to reveal another chamber.

Straw is strewn across the floor of this large cave. The ceiling vaults to a height of twelve feet. Three ledges, eight feet off the ground, look out over the main cavern. A five-footwide, twenty-foot-deep trench runs north to south through the western half of the cavern, with just one five-foot wide bridge of natural stone allowing passage from one side to the other.

As you enter the area, all of you see eigth kobolds spring up on the various ledges, ready to attack!

The kobolds manage to react faster and go first! Five of them slings stones at Flynt and Tanith!

Tanith climbs up onto a ledge and punches at a kobold. His blow slowed by the efforts of his climb, he can't deliver any harm.

Flynt's blade clatters off the stone wall.

Kistle nails a kobold with a bolt, but it's not QUITE enough to bring the thing down.

Tanith's fist smacks into the kobold, sending it flying over the edge where it stirkes its head on a rock below. It does not rise.

Flynt continues to litter the cavern with daggers, Njail heals some of Tanith's wounds, and Kistle sends a bolt into the air.

The other kobold on the ledge stabs at Tanith.

Spear: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

A miss!

Meanwhile, the kbolds on the far ledge climb down and then grab spears, taking up a defensive position around the bridge. All the kobolds there hold their spears ready, as if to stirke at the first person to cross to their side!
