Thank you so much for DMing. I look forward to this a lot.

No problem - I have invited a player from another game to fill our 4th slot, since I haven't heard from Paladin of Baha-Who. If he does turn up, we'll just run with 5.

Hi guys....excited to run my first PFS game...I have been wanting to run this type of character at the table for a while, but my home group isn't the 'skill' and role-play sort as much as I would like. Thx!

I'll have my new character statted up and running tonight. Gnome Alchemist OK?

Hope the answer to my above question is yes... anywhere, here's Johann Erlenmyer. Working on the crunch still, but long story short, he'll be very bomb, ranged, and skill focused, not melee.

of course I waste a 20 roll on a knowledge check :-(

Technic Siege/Full Map

That's the story of my life! In my last 5 table games I've rolled a 20 on an attack twice - once the creatures was dead anyway, the other was a miss due to low-light percentile fun.

Liberty's Edge

M Gnome Alchemist (Preservationist) 9 | HP 57/57 | AC 23 T 15 FF 19 | CMB +5; CMD 19 | Ft +8 (+2 vs poison) / Rf +11 / Wi +5 (+1 vs enchantment spells & effects)| Init +4 | Per. +14 | Bombs 21/21

When I GM, I always roll miss chances first, unless rolling a low number on an attack results in some other event such as a misfire or broken weapon. It's a lot more fun for the player when I say, "*roll* Ok, don't bother rolling the 20 because your shot goes wide due to the fog," than "Sorry, your natural 20 missed anyway because of fog."

haha wow, go from a 20 roll to a 1 roll...what are those odds?

About 1 in 20. ;)

Technic Siege/Full Map

So Maptool is not letting me drag and drop .png files copied from the scenario pdf. Wondering if it's because I'm on my Mac at home. Will take suggestions or try PC at work Monday morning. Sorry for the delay!

So I checked the rules and while if I choose to buy the spear at the end of the module, it will be small-sized, it's medium-sized during play.

Ok I wanted to hash out the rules for this beforehand. Johann hasn't yet prepared new extracts for today, so I can take 15 mins to prepare two reduce person extracts, and use my mutagen to boost my dex for 10 mins. Tiny creatures, per the rules, use Dex instead of Str to climb. After taking off armor, climb will be at +4. Will taking 10 on the climb get me there?

Muteki, I just noticed something, you should have Elven as a language, and one more language of your choice. In PFS, characters from Tian Xia automatically get both Taldane (Common in Avistan) and Tien (Common in Tian Xia) at creation.

I'm a little confused about the sequence of events. You say the kobold cast entangle, then cast another spell. Was there a surprise round? I wouldn't think there ought to be since we can see it. It seems to me we should have gotten a round of actions when the kobold started casting.

Technic Siege/Full Map

Well guys, life happens, and sometime it requires us to make tough choices. To put it simply I can no longer maintian the high post volume needed to get us through another session so quickly. We could start First Steps II, but we have only about three weeks before it's retired. If we were playing at "normal" speed, we'd need 4-5 weeks to complete it.

I have a few options: one, we can just disband the group when this scenario ends (which I'd like to wrap up today). Two, I can merge group A and group B to work on a scenario at a slower pace. With only 6 slots and 8 players, I would need volunteers to drop out. The thrid choice would be that I am willing to run another scenario for each group. The pace of this will be much slower if I'm going to run 2 groups - probably a six week time frame.

Please post back with your thoughts/opinions on these options. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but I need to foucs much more time on work and family commitments. Thanks!

Voice from the B side: We've already had 2 people volunteer to drop out, if that impacts anyones choice....

I've sent you a PM with my email so you can send me my chronicle sheet.

I am unfamiliar with how PFS works so if I need to do anything for that please let me know. Thx!

Technic Siege/Full Map

Walter, I just need your PFS character number, which you provided in your profile. I will fill out both an online and a paper report for our game. The paper report is called a Chronicle Sheet. I will e-mail you a copy which you will want to retain ina safe place. It is the official record of the Xp and Prestige your character has gained in Society play. If you ever take your character into antoher game, especially at a table, you may need to present these sheets to the GM for review to ensure that your character is still legal for play.

Technic Siege/Full Map

Thanks everyone for working to make this game a success! I had fun running it, even with a few hiccups here and there. Would any of you be interested in continuing on to another scenario, again at a somewhat slower pace than this one?

To answer Johann's question, I think the scenario must finish before retirement to count. With four seasons of scenarios available, there are a lot of good level 1-2 adventures, though.

I will be opening up a recruitment thread - please check in there if you'd like to join in another game with me, and I apologize that I can't maintain this heavy posting level - We did this in less than 3 weeks, which is really awesome!

Would it be PFS? I would like to continue using Walter if it's ok?

Thanks, DM! Johann is # 42641-3. So that you can include it on the Chronicle Sheet, here is my Day Job (You other guys should do this too, it's free money!)

Craft(Alchemy) taking 10: 10 + 10 = 20

I will be up for another, slower-paced adventure. It frequently felt rushed during this one. First steps part 1 might be an option if part 2 is not. I have played part 2 with a different character before so I'm not missing it entirely.
