No worries about the mistake, SuperTumbler, we all do stuff like that.
Are you still feeling bad? Being a busybody for a second: if you've tested negative for COVID, have you been tested for Lyme? Ongoing "viral" reactions like fatigue, fever, aches, brain fog can indicate that. And by their nature, those f#*~ing ticks are hard to find and the bite and possible rash may appear in a place you can't see.
If all is well and you are doing better, great, and/or you're in good hands of care, and I retract my statement.

Cannonball Sal |

Hope you get some answers and relief soon, SuperTumbler.
Combating stress induced brain fog, I'm going away for a little R&R for a few days. Time online may be limited so please bot me as needed. Sal will likely be loud and celebratory, and mainly loud.

KeefX |

@GM SuperTumbler
I had a bad case of brain fog from chemotherapy.
It's frustrating as all get out.
I knew why I had mine and knew (if the chemo worked and I lived and all) that mine would be a transitory thing so I found a comfy chair, stayed hydrated and watched vids to pass the time. It was a practice at being patient and an exercise in how to apologize for not being able to think of things.
Not knowing would be an uncomfortable situation. Fingers crossed for you.

Cannonball Sal |

Am back but catching up still. Will post as soon as I can.

Cannonball Sal |

Camping tomorrow thru Monday. Participation depends on signal and cell phone battery, please bot as needed.

Cannonball Sal |

I had a brief chat with KeefX Sunday which unfortunately I had to cut short because he called me while I was standing next to a very loud, busy road, and my ensuing week I have either been feeling crappy, have been going to PT for a wonky elbow, or I otherwise have been crazy busy. I need to call him back which I hope to do tomorrow or Friday.
The general gist is with stuff going on in life he's been having trouble getting back into the swing of the game. I told him he should discuss this with our GM. In the meantime when he is unable to post he said to just bot him. Hopefully he or I can post with an update soon.
Apologies for slow posting here, Sal's (oddly) not got a lot to say.

We got 8000 gp for the Regatta, correct? I also bet the ring of the iron skull, so if it stayed in the prize pile, I want to sell that. I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to buy stuff. I'm inclined to sit on the money so we have something to use as a nest egg for our new little base, but I'm open to ideas. Maybe we'll get lucky and hit a ship on the way :)

Cannonball Sal |

I'm thinking given we are going to an island of ancient probably cyclopean ruins, and this party has encountered things like gholdakos before, we should get some stuff to bolster against undead and disease. Maybe at least a wand of cure light wounds (to hurt undead and as a last ditch healing backup), some holy water, and some antiplague, which won't cut into our funds too badly, but if we are willing to spend more, some items of (lesser) restoration and remove disease might be warranted too, so we're not solely reliant on the npc cleric to have the right spells prepared at the right moment (and it frees her up to memorize buffs).

That bet is worth 10,800. Sell the ring for 5,400. And yes, 8000 for the prize. So you have a nice chunk of change there.
On a meta note, I'll try to make the Island not too much of a repeat of previous adventures, but I also want to make your experience useful. I'll try to do both.

Cannonball Sal |

KeefX ever get a hold of you, GM? If not I'll check in with him again and see what's going on.
Here's my shopping list:
6 vials antiplague: 300 gp
10 vials holy water: 250 gp
Wand of cure light wounds: 750 gp
Potion of Fly: 750 gp (generally might come in handy)
3x potions of lesser restoration: 900 gp
1 scroll of restoration (cannot heal permanent negative levels): 800 gp (obvs will need Sandara to use it)
Total: 3,750
In other news, heading off to actual vacation this time on Saturday, will probably be spotty though I expect to have Internet access.

We did buy that wand of cure light wounds, right? Forgot to update my character sheet.

Threnody 'Thren' Nocturne |

Anything you and I discussed should have been bought. Which includes the potions of enlarge person, the wand, antiplague, etc.

Cannonball Sal |

I've now added my purchases to my character sheet. You added the potions of enlarge person, how many should I add to my sheet?
Note that the scroll of restoration should go into Sandara's possession.

Threnody 'Thren' Nocturne |

Take all the enlarge person potions. They'll benefit you, while technically Thren can't use them as it affects humanoids, not outsiders. I'll put the scroll of restoration on Sandara's sheet, thanks.

Really struggling with a combination of physical health and mental health things at the moment. Sometimes these games are a refuge and sometimes they are like the worst stressors ever, so I apologize if I am especially slow or erratic, I know this group well enough to know you will give me some grace. I'll do my best to keep things plodding along.
In other news, would you guys like me to bot Lee, bring back Special K, make one of these Mwagi guys a new ship's mage, or some other option?
I guess we could also recruit another player. I'm up for whatever, but it seems like you deserve at least a third player.

Take the time you need.
Tried to touch base with KeefX and he wanted to talk on the phone and I am too busy and exhausted to talk on the phone (which is always especially tiring for me because of having auditory processing struggles). But without getting an answer to my question I still assume he's not coming back.
Botting Lee works on the short term. I'd like to find another player but I have strong opinions about finding someone who's not in too many games (less than five). I always have strong opinions about this, but moreover am feeling bitter because after not getting into one campaign (where more popular players who are in lots of games got picked), I applied for another game where it looked like I was going to be one of a very small group of applicants, and then the GM who didn't pick me in that previous attempt threw in an application as a player for the new one and sniped me. (I don't mind not being picked for the first game, it was a heavy roleplay-focused application that was nonoptimized and I knew I was taking a risk. The second one I worked my ass off on to balance roleplay and mechanical need so I'm pissed and taking it personally, because it really looks like this dude made sure I couldn't play in his game and then kept me from playing in another.) So I'm feeling passionate about creating availability for a player who isn't in/playing a bunch of games both to give them opportunity and because it likely means they'd stay more committed, and to be sure the same people aren't in every game on the boards.

Lathiira |

Take time if you need to. You have to take care of yourself first.
Short-term, botting Lee is fine. If we can recruit another player, I do have similar sentiments regarding a newcomer to DQ. I'd rather someone who isn't in a bunch of games (and therefore very distracted or likely to forget to post to one, thinking they got them all) as well. We can work them into the narrative in a variety of ways.

Cannonball Sal |

I should add, if you, SuperT, feel more comfortable botting Kahuranga, then by all means bring him back. I love Kahuranga and was just thinking in terms of who was on the ship right now.
It occurred to me another alternative is simply having the two of us each play two PCs to make a proper four person party. That poses its own challenges, but is not without its upsides either. I think both Lathiira and I could manage it--or at least try it on the short term and see how it works out. One option would be to play previously introduced PCs or NPCs, though I'm not sure I'm keen on playing someone else's character. We could flesh out some NPCs--surprise, they are higher level than we thought! Or just introduce new folks we meet. Maybe a pair of adventurers are shipwrecked on the isle of empty eyes. I could bring in my oracle or try a different PC...
