Noooooo flanking buddy!

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Kelumur falls ill again at the sight of the monstrous being. But the half-orc perseveres in the fight and attempts to take advantage of Skivven's attack to trip the enemy.

Trip, Sickened: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 2 = 17
I'm under the impression Skivven isn't flanking due to stunned, but if he is, +4 to trip.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Rhiannon's first strike is true, and carves off another slice from the Thognorok, unfortunately Kelumur's attempts are less successful and Tasutek wards him off with broad sweeps of his axe, before rounding on the nearly defenseless ratfolk and smashing him from his feet!

Sorry, Rhiannon is more of a fighter than a healer, but she can do something at least...

The demonic threat ended by the inscrutable and faintly disturbing monk, Rhiannon gives Kali a nod and then flies toward the fallen Skivven, dropping her shield to the ground as she goes. Reaching forth to touch the ratfolk with her free hand, a prayer to Ragathiel on her lips, the paladin allows a burst of positive energy to course into his body, healing him of the worst of his injuries and stabilizing Skivven.

'Fervor' Healing DRR: 1d6 ⇒ 4 HP of healing for Skivven

To free up a hand, she'd have to either drop sword or shield, and there's no way she's dropping her sword. So free action (while moving) to drop her shield, move 10' to current square on map, then standard action to use 'Fervor' in order to heal. Her AC is now -2 from that listed above (should be -4, but the Protection from Evil grants her +2 back), but next round she'll use the bastard sword in a two-handed grip. Don't forget that everyone within 10' of Rhiannon now has Protection from Evil.

With Skivven's actions taking place prior to Rhiannon's action, I'm going to change my action, if that's OK? I think my target for the cure is now out of range anyway. My AC will remain the same since I won't drop the shield, and add +2 for the Protection vs Evil

Whew! Big time thanks Eirwen for that spell, and to Skivven too for getting himself out of harm's way before Rhiannon could move. If she had dropped her shield, she would have taken yet ANOTHER axe crit!

The Doomknight's axe carves a deep wound into her right shoulder, and her eyes go wide as she realizes she is too late to block the evil warrior's killing blow with her shield as he brings his weapon back around with surprising speed! But the magic of Eirwen's spell deflects the axe blade just a bit, so that it only bites into her shield arm. A painful wound, but not life-threatening - though another series of blows could very well finish her.

The paladin of Ragathiel holds firm though, returning the blows of the Doomknight with her own while using her magic to bring a bit a bit of healing to her worst injuries.

Since he has (multiple) buffs up that haven't been identified by anyone, I'll forbear for now on the total breakdown, Skivven, but I'll be happy to walk you through them afterwards!

Kitani, I'm afraid your burning hands doesn't have a safe 15' cone now that everyone's in melee no matter how I rejigger initiative via delaying and the like. You could get in closer (read: adjacent) and cast it to hit only him, but since that's obviously a potentially dangerous move, I'll leave that to you to decide.

The midst of a chaotic battle is obviously exactly where Tasutek wants to be! He safely weathers Kali's slowly weakening blows, ducks Eirwen's sudden snowball, and Skivven's acid sizzles off of the barely seen barrier. Only Rhiannon's blade pierces his guard, and even then, one of her strikes is turned by the nearly invisible force that surrounds him.

I put the template for you Kitani; you need to make a concentration check to cast defensively: roll 1d20+10 vs. DC 17. If you fail you just lose the spell: you don't get hit. The spell DC for the bad guy vs. burning hands is DC 17.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Thanks Skivven! I'm going to take the liberty of rolling Kitani's concentration to keep us moving

Tasutek shields himself from what flames he can, but what passes through doesn't seem to scorch him or his equipment!

All things end! But you first! The frothing warrior howls his defiance as his wounds continue to close, hammering his axe into Rhiannon again and again, until she floats limply, held aloft for a moment by unseen wings.

Betrayer gods! So will you fall as well!

Though Rhiannon tries to defend against the Doomknight's unholy fury, but the strength of the paladin fails and she sends a prayer to Ragathiel, asking his forgiveness for her failure and to protect her allies if he can. Then her world becomes a bright, cleansing light and she knows no more...

Ouch! Dang, was hoping he'd miss once and I'd get another round's worth of attacks in there. Good luck folks, if anyone can heal me a bit I might be able to get in another blow - but between his healing, magic protection, high AC and ferocious blows we could be in some serious trouble here... And Kitani, I'm guessing he is using Fervor as a swift action, just like Rhiannon can do! Darn those evil warpriests!!

@Kitani: rules discussion should be posted in the Discussion thread to keep the action flowing nicely here... but if I was you I'd check out the warpriest class... which I think we've been dealing with here, and it's giving me a new respect for that class... :P

Bludgeoning damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7
DC 20 Reflex save to halve the damage and avoid being tossed upward 35'

If a solid object (such as a ceiling) is encountered, the target strikes it in the same manner as it would during a normal fall.

Rhiannon's eyes flicker open and she hears the hissing voice of Skivven in her ears. The paladin finds herself floating in the air, but her blade has fallen (presumably), and realizing that it is gone, she grabs for the mace at her belt, straightens and swings at the Doomknight! She takes a moment to heal herself a bit as well.

Masterwork Heavy Mace Attack DRR: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27 vs Doomknight's AC
Includes +2 for Flanking, +1 for Divine Favor
Heavy Mace Damage DRR: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 5) + 3 = 12 bludgeoning
Includes +1 for Divine Favor, Double Weapon Damage for Vital Strike

Fervor Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 5 HP healed

Thanks, Skivven! I'm guessing sword is dropped when I fell unconscious, but heavy shield still strapped to arm? Not sure if a flying person can fall prone or not, presuming from descriptive text that Rhiannon is not prone and won't need to 'stand up', she will draw her mace as a move action and make a standard attack with Vital Strike. If she is indeed technically prone, then swing from prone at -4 to attack roll, if that is possible. Also swift action to use Fervor as healing on herself once more. Most importantly, Kelumur is still flanking, and hopefully will connect to deal some good sneak attack damage!

Eirwen looks forward to returning to the monastery of Tar Kuata. Now that Pathfinders have proven their worth and mettle, the monks won't hesitate to entrust them with an artifact any more.

Moreover, Eirwen has an opportunity to talk to the monks, to look for the one who could equal the mysterious Narmek Tar Kuata and to try and enlist him to accept an ultimate test of power - the Sage Jewel.

It looks like we are wrapping up, but I still have an issue to settle with the monks. Maybe this one will help:
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

The commonly accepted path toward self-perfection rarely involves revelry, yet when you make your victorious return, even stoic Tar Kuata celebrates news of the cultists’ defeat!

Bertrag narrates his account of your deeds, and Aeotsep warmly congratulates you on overcoming such a trial. Honoring their bargain, Itephta and Menkha formally transfer their Sky Key component to the Pathfinder Society. Itephta also gives you a sealed letter to deliver to the Society, extending his compliments and friendship. Lastly, Itephta also offers you honorary admission to the monastery, should you wish to continue their studies.

Eirwen's inquiries find a more receptive audience after the Doomsday Knight's defeat as well. Aeotsep confides in you the name of this absent paragon, Dhiara. She travels abroad to test her skills against challenges greater than she can find here, but she has written us recently, he produces a letter, perhaps this will help contact her.

Dhiara's letter:
"To my colleagues at Tar Kuata,
No matter the great distance that separates me from the monastery, every day I fondly remember the humble halls filled with extraordinary knowledge and mortal potential. I encourage each of you to strive for excellence and also look forward to the day you might leave the monastery to test your skills against worldly challenges. I write this not to suggest that Tar Kuata restricts our skills, but there are
discoveries one can pursue only beyond its cloistered walls.

My writing supplies are among the last of my humble belongings left to pack. The people of Iadara have mostly kindly honored the conclusion of my personal trial against Tanglebriar, yet even 10 years without rest seems trivial compared to the struggles of the elves that call this home. Nonetheless, I have met and exceeded my goal, and it has driven me to find others who fight against impossible odds. My contacts in Erages speak of kindred outcasts in a land called Averaka_a place unfamiliar to me, and one that I am intent on finding.

My next letter may not arrive for many months. Until then, always aspire to be greater than you were the day before, and harness the lessons of the past to realize a greater future.

Your fellow sister,
Dhiara"

***

When you present him with both the newly found piece of the Sky Key and the letter of praise from the monastery’s leader, Venture-Captain Norden Balentiir praises you effusively for a job well done. We'll just have to get this back to Absalom before some sort of catastrophe strikes! If that's your next port of call, we could certainly use the extra guards!
