FYI - I believe the damage from Studied Target does multiply on a Crit. The damage from Sneak Attack or Studied Strike does not.

Extra damage dice (like from sneak attack or a flaming sword) never get multiplied, but all other damage does unless the rules specifically say it does not.

@GM,

I think Brallenera is agreeing to stay back and make her attack a Readied attack if the devil gets close enough for her to attack.

Are you adding bleed damage?

for the separate attacks, but not from the previous rounds. So if both attacks hit which they did, both rounds, each gets +2 bleed damage for that round. So each time the devil attacked he hit twice and did rend damage so each separate attack and the rend damage get +2.

Bleed damage doesnt apply on the attack. Ifyou are healed before your turn you do not take the damage.

So if the bleed doesn't count, if he was healed before his turn in the next round, it should look like this?

36 Hp to start the combat; the AOO was -9, at 27 HP then the next attack was -17 at 10 hp which you healed him for +5 before the bleed could take affect, then Joseph did another +5 at 20 HP. Then the second attack is for -26, which will put him at -6 HP but – 6 more from bleed from that attack in the third round or -12 if no one heals him before his turn in the third round.

Does that look right to you GM Chyro or did I miss something?

The creature statblock says it deals bleed damage on natural attacks.
Its rend ability also deals bleed, provided both claw attacks hit.
If the claws merely started a bleeding wound, not deal it on the initial attack, then the rend wouldn't have it. That is my reasoning in this.

You'd have only once the 'bleeding 2' condition, as bleed effects don't stack.

I will look into it more, as that post was made right before going to sleep.

Right, the continual bleed doesn't start until you take your turn.

Now i've edited my previous post's wording.
Bear with me, i'm familiar with the normal rules of bleed, but the 2 bleed on rend is what had me doubting.

With material such as boar style's 2d6 bleed damage (higher up in chain), which works similar to rend in mechanic, that added up to my initial reading, which was right before my tired head hit the pillow.

Now, having been back & forth, it seems more likely (mind you i'm no wiki) that only the rend itself would deal 2 extra bleed damage directly on hit.

Following that assumption.

2nd combat, Ting was at full at the start.

Round 1: devil deals no dmg, intimidates Brallenera.
Round 2: devil hits Brallenera.
---------
* Round 2: reach aoo for 9. (Ting at 27)
---------
Round 3: Attacks Brallenera
---------
* Round 4: 10 from claws, condition bleed 2. Rend deals 7 +2 .
Ting at 8, bleed 2 condition.
---------
Round 5: Las heals for 5, no more bleed. (Ting at 13)
Joseph heals for 5. (Ting at 18)
* Round 5: Devil deals 19 with claws, cause condition bleed 2.
Rend deals 7 +2, for total of 28 dmg.

That would mean Ting is at -10/0, bleeding 2 on his turn to death.
Las would have to put a heal on him, or he will die.

If both of them heal you to conscious, you can act in the next round, as you turn is currently passed due to being KO.

Ting does not want to regain consciousness in this situation. Better to stay down and hope that Brallenera can come through...which it looks like she might have.

Based on your link, it looks like there may have been some confusing phrasing in the original entry and Paizo cleaned it up so that you only get 1d6 bleed and it starts on the victim's turn as is normal for Bleed.

A boss fight?

You've got to be kidding me? That Host Devil was ridiculous for a party of four. Unless there are a bunch of magic items we haven't found, I am kind of mind-blown at the difficulty of this mission.

I think we the party is going to hold up and rest a day to recover spells/extracts. We'll need to go back and make sure Gali is not a further threat.

I think you passed the spoiler DC, and you'd be aware they can summon others like them.

But yes, boss fight. You've hardly set foot into the citadel itself.
The host devil was physically the strongest opponent in this mission.

Well, how is the person who summoned the devil going to know its dead if it was guarding the bridge the whole time?

Plus, if the devil could summon other devils, then it must not have been summoned. Summoned creatures can't summon other creatures.

I had heard a moduel that's well known for TPKs is Bone Keep. It's a straight forward dungeon grind and my friend saw players wearing black robes with the knowledge they probably won't make it out.

A good diplomacy check will bypass a fight here, and pave way to the last two parts of the place.

I can post multiple times a/day, but it's up to you guys to do the rest.

Joseph should absolutely Take 10 on the Diplo check. The Dwarf is not hostile and probably has a low charisma. Joesph Takes 10 and then Bra and Ting can try Aid another's. If that doesn't work, then Charm Person.

Can we Take 20 on the steam vents? From an OOC perspective, I'm guessing it's allowed since there are four of them and rolling four 25's is not very likely at this level.

Like traps, they have a risk of bad stuff.
Either if you miss the DC by 5+, or roll a nat 1.

But tbh, i doubt it'll come to a nat 1.

Why does Ting have 2 different modifiers on Disable Device?
So Ting's all in the clear.

The scenario designating, not directly.
However, the steam from the pipes can be dangerous, and it does describe the effect then.

It spewing forth at the base, would yield the same thing.

Ting has "Trapfinding": The slayer gains Disable Device as a class skill. The slayer also gains the trapfinding and trap sense rogue abilities, using his slayer level as his effective rogue level.

So four class levels would equal a + 2 on disable device for traps.

on the map is a square room with a ramp ending at the statue, another set of stairs and four blank balls covering something. I must confess, I moved one of the balls and found a door, are the doors visible to the party? or is it just the three murals? also does the statue play into this?
