"Remember, there is nobody who could match your experience, we are desperately in need of someone to guide us here", Miriel tries to help Kavor in the persuasion.

The magma quiets down as the statue calms down. Tanbaru floats up to her. "P-please calm down! The Pathfinders are quite wise." The statue silently nods.

Jiraku says, “So few visitors have come and shown such respect for local traditions. I had forsaken my love and duty for this place, but perhaps there is hope for me yet.” She maintains her kami form, dismisses the winds and climbs down the statue.

Peering at the mask, a flash of recognition occurs and she stares intently at it. ”Tanbaru? What did happen to you?” She looks closer at the trembling oni mask.

”I… I too grew bitter, Jikaru. It is good to see you again.” Tanbaru turns to the party. ”Perhaps I should stay with her at the temple. But the Pathfinder Society has offered me much to do. Do you think I should stay with Jikaru?”

It’s up to you if you think he should stay or not. What do you think?

"It is difficult to love alone. I suggest Tanbaru stays here. I will do my utmost to get Pathfinder Society to find enthusiastic people to come here, and join you in rebuilding the temple as a beautiful place of worship".

”I’d bet there’s a lot of old times the two of you could catch up on. And we would send members of the Society to come visit every so often. I’m sure you two will remember many adventures you enjoyed together!”

Kavor Doan keeps silent. He has an inkling of one way this could be a bad idea, but it might just be paranoia.
It seems such an obvious answer to let them be together again.... Is that wrong?

Tanbaru listens to the party's responses. He knows the answer. He nods and floats to Jikaru. She places Tanbaru on her face, smiles, and says, “I’m sad about what happened to you, Tanbaru, but I need you to remind me why I must never abandon my duty.”

After finishing your investigation you begin your long trek back to Ramparassad. Old Pak listens intently. ”I will miss Tanbaru’s words of wisdom. It’s like saying goodbye to an old friend.” He reaches for some of his special tea. ”Oh well, gives me all the more reason to visit one day!”

Old Pak thinks and jumps up, full of energy. ”The site may attract Yamatsumi’s faithful again. With the information you recorded, they will be able to repair the trail and temple. The Society will earn goodwill throughout the region. Good job, everyone.”

Doodle will hang out with Old Pak and drink more of the delicious tea. She prods him mad has him tell numerous stories of his time in the area.

Miriel asks Old Pak about who could be potentially interested about repairing the temple, then goes around Ramprassad trying to motivate people for pilgrimage.

"I promised we would seek help in repairing the temple. Better to start sooner than later."

Once well away from the Jikaru and Tanbaru, Gwen says: "Too bad, I would have liked to talk to him more once I was more fluent in the language. But then I suppose he didn't really remember much so it's probably for the best. That and it's just sort of creepy him being a sort of intelligent mask and all. It was weird enough carrying him all this way. So yeah. I'm all done with spirit masks for the foreseeable future."

Likewise. While Gwen attempts to plumb the depths of what remains of the temple, she also hunts for clues as to the origins of the nagaji and their interest in the temple. This might include physical investigation, and asking a lot of questions of those who might know more about the ruins.
