Hey peeps.
Was there a vacation mentioned that I forgot? I want to 'kil me a bar!' ;)

Understood. Gotta take care of bizniz! ;)

I'm thinking about taking some liberties with the exploration system, as I feel it is somewhat bogging things down with the PbP nature of this AP. While it is a big part of the initial phase of the game, it doesn't have the proper flow in my opinion to work well in this format. Picking directions for example becomes a fairly complex and time consuming task.
What are your opinions on shelving it in favor of something that is more driven by myself and less cumbersome overall?
It would mean some seriously abridged timelines but would allow us to focus more on the actual important areas within the adventure.

I welcome this suggestion with open arms.

I think trying something else, such as your idea Trips, is a good idea. There's gotta be a more... progressive way of exploring. :) I'm all for it.

You haven't led us astray so far, in fact I've been enjoying this campaign quite a bit. So I trust whatever you think might help.
I'm noticing a similar struggle with a Skull and Shackles campaign I'm running: the daily tasks become really cumbersome in a PbP setting, where it feels like we wait forever between "significant events" while they simply roll to make sure they're doing their jobs right.
So taking some liberties sounds like a great idea if you're game for the extra work that creates.

Who are these six strangers?
I'm just throwing out some ideas, people are more than welcome to modify/change these...
- Boswell Pine: Younger brother of Randy Pine. Hunter/Bowman. He has a very outgoing and outspoken personality, a strong sense of humor, and a desire to be around people. He is infatuated with childhood friend Gwen Tucker, but his love is unrequited. He believes with time she will come to see how awesome he is.
- Randy Pine: Older brother of Boswell Pine. Hunter/Bowman. Unlike his younger brother, Randy is far more reserved and contemplative. He too enjoys company, but is much more at home in smaller groups than in large social gatherings. He hasn't given a lot of thought, romantically speaking, to Gwen Tucker as he knows his brother is hooked on her; but would probably really like her should he actually consider it.
- Gwen Tucker: Childhood friend of the Pine brothers. Hunter/Bow-woman. Gwen's personality is much like Boswell's--she's bubbly, engaged in social settings, and expressive in her emotions. She values Boswell immensely as a friend, perhaps her best, but can't requite his affection because she secretly pines for his brother Randy. Neither of the brothers is aware of this. Tense.
- Arken Griswald: No affiliation to the aforementioned love triangle. Warrior. Arken is not quite a half-orc, but definitely boasts some orken blood, which is easily seen in his size. Contrary to stereotypes, however, Arken is likely the wisest of the six that fled from the Stag Lord and was instrumental in convincing the others to leave with him. He is tactful and precise, and enjoys the sound of his voice (if you catch my drift).
- Sam (Samantha) Liddovico: Also no affiliation with the first three. Dextrous warrior/marginal archer. Sam is short and wirey, with short red hair and a fiery personality. She fits in better with "the guys" than most women certainly would. She still appreciates feminine things, but doesn't identify with them often. She's usually quiet, but fierce when she speaks.
- Finnigan: Also no affiliation with the first three. Exquisite bowman. Finnigan has no family name as he has no family to speak of. He was abandoned as a child, and fostered by a number of families growing up who quickly "passed him on" when given the chance. Hunting gave him something to focus on as he grew up, since he got involved in little else. He lacks a lot of people skills, but I guess to a degree he's fascinated by them, even if understandably a bit bitter.
Ha! Do what you want with those. Anyone can add, or take away, or modify whatever they want. I just figured I could toss in some rough sketches to get characters started.

Alternate Identity Option:
This is Option B, if no one likes the first...
- Dominique Tooker: Attractive female halfling. Drawn to short men with powerful personalities who are outspoken and sometimes tossed around by barbarians.
- Allendria Fox: Attractive female halfling. Drawn to short men with powerful personalities who are outspoken and sometimes tossed around by barbarians.
- Sheri Cook: Attractive female halfling. Drawn to short men with powerful personalities who are outspoken and sometimes tossed around by barbarians.
- Lilly Somerset: Attractive female halfling. Drawn to short men with powerful personalities who are outspoken and sometimes tossed around by barbarians.
- Callissa Driggs: Attractive female halfling. Drawn to short men with powerful personalities who are outspoken and sometimes tossed around by barbarians.
- Henna Lightfoot: Attractive female halfling. Drawn to short men with powerful personalities who are outspoken and sometimes tossed around by barbarians.
Both very viable options.

My only concern with option B is that Cappi would no longer be adventuring, but trying to hide from 6 women and the fighting that would ensue. Unless Halflings are Mormon and I missed that part of the racial descriptor.

Taking PFS standard HP: +7 (5 +1con +1fc)
+1 BAB = 1 BAB (Can draw weapons while moving now!)
+1 Ref

- Escape Artist
- Perception
- Sleight of Hand
- Stealth

Rogue Talent (Finesse Rogue): Weapon Finesse wrapped up in a talent instead of a feat.
Quicker than the Eye:
When using Sleight of Hand, creatures take a penalty on their Perception checks to notice the attempt equal to half the filcher's class level. The filcher also subtracts her class level from the normal –20 penalty when attempting to make a Sleight of Hand check as a move action instead of as a standard action. Lastly, the filcher can withdraw an object hidden on her person, including a weapon, as a move action instead of the usual standard action. This ability replaces evasion.

Question: Is the choice to roll hp randomly or pick average made at each level, or made once for the entire game?
(I just remembered that we're not doing "roll and if you roll low, take average", so if it turns out to be the second choice, I'll just pick average instead of what I rolled earlier.)
Brom Wolven
The recruitment instructions say full at 1st level, and pfs style or roll for the other levels. And you must choose before rolling.
Those things make me think it's decided at a level by level basis, but I'll let our GM confirm or deny that.

Meh, having a ton of HP just means you can beat on them a lot to suck the already limited healing from the party. I actually like to have a few giant HP sponges in my groups so I can throw extra nasty monsters at them and see if they survive.
Castor Antares
I'll probably be picking average fro now on, anyway. I don't trust luck to carry me far, as a player.
(Now in character, luck is a different story.)
Unrelatedly, with that rank in Knowledge(Geography), I take the first step towards making Castor a Spherewalker come level 9.
It'll ding my domain powers a little, but not very significantly, and while it will hurt my channeling somewhat, I figure between Will, Rufus, and Hadin, we ought to be able to keep the party in good shape.
In exchange, we get some good exploration tools, and I get butterflies!
Cydrius
Hm. On the wiki page for Castor, you seem to have the statblock for Capella twice. Once after Castor's equipment, and a second time at the bottom of the page.
Also I think you still have the first gear I applied with, rather than the redone gear from a bit after that, meaning much of Castor's gear on the wiki is now outdated. (Including his armor, and thus, his armorclass.)
Brom Wolven
I always like access to everything. :)
Castor Antares
Well, if you're not particularly concerned with the gear being exact, the only thing with an impact on stats is studded leather armor rather than regular leather.
If you'd like it to be more exact, feel free to create me an account, and I'll update it myself, because it's mostly a bunch of minutiae. ;)

Could you briefly explain what we can do in the downtime? I don't have Ultimate Campaign, but the little i see in PRD seems interesting...
If Hadin has the time, and with the permission of Oleg, i'd like to add a small wooden shrine (or at least a wood statue) of Erastil in a corner of the trading post.
So for Hadin, in order of importance:
1/ helps build the houses (Carpenter skill and Engineering Knowledge)
2/ repairs catapults if needed
3/ builds a shrine/statue or Erastil in the trading post

Brom: Not sure if it was intentional or not, since I dont own the ultimate compaign, but you did all your rolling with a D2, not a D20, which might explain rolling nothing but 1's and 2's.
Brom Wolven
lol yeah I saw Trips comment to that effect. Its so much more exciting with D2's, isn't it? ;)
