Having recieved a heal Kyoshiro snaps awake but he lies there a moment - if the ape moves out of range he takes up his Katana and rises to his feet.
7hps, delay action for take up sword and stand

Unless Ander's bow shot finishes the ape, I will take the re-roll
attack better!: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21
That's better. Maybe now that 16 points of damage will sink in.

GM Burglar |

Math Checker 9k: 41 + 16 + 9 = 66 YOU GUYS CAN'T BE SERIOUS. This ape looks REALLY battered.

Chelsea, then the ape will be following her. Then back around to the old rotation, (Kyo, Harboth, Ander, Hiram, Urthain, Chelsea!)

GM Burglar |

Chelsea heals Harboth!

The ape, barely standing, wails on the Half-orc! Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 271d4 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 241d4 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 241d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12Did I kill Grandpa Harboth?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 241d4 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
The ordering for these attacks being Harboth (until he's down), Kyo (until he's down), then Ander.
---
Kyo, Harboth, Ander, Hiram, Urthain, Chelsea!
Combat End!
The statues behind the Ziggeraut become solid and non-moving! Nigel continues to thrash about!
Sorry for the reading comprehension failure, guys. One would think that two creatures with the exact same name would have the exact same abilities, no?

![]() |

Pfft, reduce me to a healing wand for no reason, lol.
Chelsea checks her companions to see if anyone needs healed back to consciousness.
Feel free to d8 a couple charges off my wand to get you back up guys.
She also picks up one of the now solid statues and places it into her pack while making her way around the room. Finally approaching Nigel, she looks to Hiram and states.
"He isn't as dashing as you claimed, he is all yours Hiram."

![]() |

Harboth breathes a sigh of relief and leans on his weapon. He then picks up his CLW wand and uses it on himself a couple of times, just in case.
clw1: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
clw2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Although Ander was talking to Chelsea, Harboth responds, Probably a good idea.

![]() |

Hiram staggers to his feet. To Chelsea, he shakes his head. "No thanks, not my speed. I prefer my dates a bit less... manly." He walks over to the wooden idol and squats down to examine it. "These things caused all this?!? These measly little squat pieces of wood? Chop 'em up for firewood, for all I care. I think I'm going to swear off museums for a while..."
Walking over to Nigel, Hiram stops. Is Nigel still thrashing and acting possessed?

![]() |

Hiram, seeing the man still fuming and struggling, gets a strange smile on his face. Sorry, mate, this is for your own good. I can't deny I'm gonna enjoy it, though." Hiram begins to beat the man unconscious, mumbling things about damn dirty apes as he does.

![]() |

I'm happy to do the honors, Ander. Harboth hacks at the remaining idol.
GM: do you need me to roll for it or can we just say I hack away until the thing is done for?

Normally, punching Nigel Aldain would count as both a Chaotic and a Good Act and doing so automatically shifts the PC one step closer to Chaotic Good on both the Law/Chaos and Good/Evil Axis. This might cause a PC to require an Atonement to regain deity-based powers, such as in the case of a Paladin of Asmodeus. In this instance, however, he's mind-controlled by a hostile mist, so punching the curator has no major effect on alignment.
Shadow Lodge PCs who successfully assault Nigel and deliver Grandmaster Torch's coded message earn 1 Prestige Award.

Urthain comes to, eyes flickering open to the sight of Hiram beating the tied up man. "Wha?" Looking about he sees the ape is dead and he slowly gets to his feet.
Ander walks over to Ur. "May I see the scarab again? There must be something we are missing."
"Of course, I am going to go check through the honoured dead section again" Ur replies quietly.
Taking 20 (28) to search Taltuma-Matl's coffin and remains.

In case I get a swing in before those fools go running off...
attack the statues!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
damage the statues?: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Stop those idols!

![]() |

Where is everyon today? Did Ander or Ur have any succes?
Seeing an icon run away, Ander finishes his careful examination of the scarab and casts a spell of unerring accuracy. He then draws back his bow and fires at the icon.
Attack: 1d20 + 20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 20 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 33
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
Cast True Strike

![]() |

Were there four to start? I thought there were three. Ander shot one, Chelsea grabbed another, and I firewood-ed a third on an AoO. We still going Yakety Sax? If there's still one left...
Harboth runs after the last idol, axe in hand, yelling AAAAAHAAAAAAGGGHH! like some murderous woodsman. He tries to put the bowshot final idol out of its misery.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

GM Burglar |

No, I just thought you guys wanted to scurry around the museum, like in the movies. One dead idol is in Chelsea's bag, the other two tried to run. One got murked by an AoO, and the other I assume you can chase down; it has a 10' move speed and the Run feat.
Also, you've got Hiram, cleaning up from punching out a now-unconcious Nigel Aldain. He's still tied to the Ziggeraut, but the jungle sounds stop after you break down the last of the three idols.

In plain Taldane, "It reads 'Legacy.' These are ancient containers that were often used to hold the wills to ancient nobles of Osiriani descent. One simply must speak the word to open the container to deliver it to the will to the Royal Family's residence." A short pause happens, and he continues. "I'm going to go ahead and assume you fine individuals didn't take it from the museum," he states, knowingly.

Ur reenters from searching the honoured dead exhibit. "I couldn't fin...." he starts , his voice trailing of as he hears Nigels response to Anders question.

GM Burglar |

Nigel casts Mending on his shirt a number of times to repair it. "So, you're saying Adril Hestrum sent you? Urgh, that oaf." He says, mimicking Chelsea's actions. "I suppose he's going to want my aid back to Society. So be it, I'd be a fool to turn away those who saved my life." He putzes around with the top of the ziggeraut and mutters a few arcane words, opening the top block. "This spear was found near the colony of Sargava, dated to have been constructed during the reign of the expansionist Chelish prince, Haliad I. It would be worth a great deal to the Society, and I'm sure Hestrum would love suck up to his superiors yet again," he says while handing the spear to Ander. The spear is a bejeweled masterwork spear with brittle, white bird feathers tied with crumbling leather straps beneath the still-sharp spearhead. It is a +1 vicious spear.
"Plus, an old momento, so Hestrum will know you didn't just steal this spear, too." He hands over an ioun stone. "Many of these objects, called ioun stones, can be placed within a wayfinder to create fantastic magical effects, but remarks that his inferior stones are sadly not capable of such resonance, especially after one smashes it with an earthbreaker while 'dominated by one of those damned cultists'." He says with air quotes, slightly angered by some event in his past. "This one here is an incandescent blue sphere ioun stone, though thanks to your Venture Captain, it has been flawed for years."

"Thank you for the items, just be a little more careful on what you unleash in here next time. I think this was quite the unpleasant experience for all involved."
Chelsea states, gesturing at the rough shape the whole group is in.

Harboth scratches his head at Chelsea's comment.
A light bulb goes off as another clump of hair falls out. He walks up to Nigel. Say, you wouldn't happen to know anything about this - he points at his rapidly balding head - would you? I caught it from some flying face in one of the other exhibits.

GM Burglar |

Technically, no he didn't. But you can speak modern Osiriani, so you can speak Ancient Osiriani. Just not read/write between the two. It's weird, but the Inner Sea Guide is pretty explicit about it. You just have a weird accent.
Given a minute of trying, Ander finds the proper phrase to open the ancient scarab. Inside is a very fragile papyrus scroll and a lot of dust.
@Harboth: "Some flying face... Oh my. If you like your head where it is, you should really go see a magical physician. Like, immediately." posting from phone; Feel free to look at the vargoulle in Bestiary 1.
