Harboth Redacre

Harboth will be up near the front - second rank - with his bow out.
Though he examined both weapons, Harboth initially did not elect to use either one. However, he stops short of the office door. Wait, let me see that big toothy thing again.
Though I had rejected the idea at first because of the slightly lesser damage (damage die and crit multiplier) compared to my greataxe, the to-hit bonus to the greatclub is probably worth it. Unless someone else would prefer, Harboth will use that weapon until the end of the scenario.

The door to this chamber held panes of expensive frosted glass, which now lies in broken shards on the floor. Within, several desks lie overturned, papers in disarray, and chairs smashed to kindling. A sturdy steel cabinet sits against the back wall, its doors much battered and dented. The mist here roils near the floor and ceiling, creating a strange patch of visibility stretching from knee-height to a few feet overhead. The smoky tendrils flow up and down the walls unnaturally and savage visages swirl to life, fanged mouths agape, before dissolving into mist once more.

"Every step further I go into this building makes me more sure Angazhan has something to do with this. I believe some of his primates await us in this room, near the ceiling."
She states, pointing at the far upper corner of the room.

Harboth swaps his bow for the greatclub looted from the dead warriors.
Someone is trying to hide from us up there. Be ready.
He does not look up until the rest of the group looks ready for the monkeys in the rafters.
| GM Burglar |
I want to note that we're NOT in an init order; I just wanted to make sure I got the dimensions of the room appropriately described after the successful perceptions. You can still move as a group and stuff, but no Readying Actions out of init, though; I'm running on the assumption that things "on the ready" mean they're in-hand.

The movement sounds from earlier shift again, as the apes swing down to their positions and are now raving mad (and stealthing in no way shape or form!)
What wasn't as expected is the two individuals who ALSO drop down! They wear torn and bloodied scribes cloaks with the Blakros emblem on them. They have their surprise round (which I realized AFTER I rolled inits, and I'm not messing those up by putting their attacks here.)

Hiram lets out a somewhat shocked sound as the giant apes descend. "Good gracious! Who thought bringing Apes to a museum was a good idea?!? These Blakros fellows must be mad, indeed!"
He steels himself, and casts a spell of fear, casting cautiously to avoid any sudden attacks! Casting Defensively: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 vs DC 17. Unfortunately, he feels the spell fade as he suspects he sees flying feces out of the corner of his eye. Sighing, he draws his rapier with his left hand and prepares to fight.

Actually, the apes dropped down in the surprise round. They just moved instead of attacking, due to space issues and bossy leaders who wanted flanking. You want to try casting on the defensive?

Apparently, the Pathfinder Society is driven by angst from overbearing mothers.
Minor update: Ander and Harboth's attacks hit and didn't drop anything, and Hiram just barely missed. If only he were telling an inspiring tale or had more Overbearing Mother issues. I'll make a big post when we get Urthain's action.
