Bogipfen nods and Karn, Ambusta and Ajaprak head out with the retinue of Hellknights down the large tunnel. "Follow me, top dwellers!" He leads you to a small tunnel in which most of you have to squeeze and slide through parts and passages.

He raises his hands, motioning for you to stop and holds a finger to his lips. He begins to creep along through the tunnel with ease as you still struggle. Ahead, you can hear the sounds of battle. Ambusta's voice can be heard clearly through the din, directing the Hellknights to quash the demon threat.

The group tries to silently move through the tunnels, but their armor and boots clang and stomp through the tunnel, causing loud echoes to be easily heard as a giant horned demon turns its head to you.

Once a grand plaza decorated with frescos, this previously sealed section of Rachikan has weathered the ages fairly well. Sections of its walls have collapsed, and the floor is now a mess of faded plaster debris and dust. The
area was decommissioned and rededicated as an imperial crypt as Rachikan fell into ruin, and it still holds monuments commissioned by Severina Helsprex to laud her own accomplishments.

The sprawling plaza opens from a fissure providing a glimpse into Rachikan’s past. Bright tiles decorate the plaza depicting a series of five mosaics honoring a proud and stern Jistkan woman. Ornate marble columns, a pristine fountain, and travertine stairs lead towards an impressive stronghold mounted atop an immense, crouching quadruped. Thanks to the combined efforts of the morlocks and Chelish archaeologists, the plaza is clear of large debris and does not hinder movement. Three broad platforms rise several feet above the plaza floor, and several buildings around the plaza’s perimeter are buried under compacted rubble.

Four of the five mosaics depict scenes of glory: the founding of Rachikan, the successful binding of a fiend, a scene of violence depicting Jistkan golems wreaking havoc on an opposing army, and Severina Helsprex ascending toward a pillar of light within the clouds. The central mosaic is an image of this plaza near the end of Rachikan’s dominance; however, rather than crouching toward the east end of the northern platform, the massive construct is shown standing so that the stronghold’s entrance is suspended over the center of the platform.

In front of them, they can see the Hellknights fighting off swarms of morlocks as Karn seems to be inspiring their attacks. Ajaprak rides her stone golem around as it clashes with another golem, seeming under control of the horned demon.

Bogipfen yells to you that you will have the aid of the morlocks as you rush into battle as twenty more morlocks leap out of the tunnels behind you.

You can treat one attack this fight as if you had flanking from an allied morlock.

Correct. Anything in pink you can ignore as they are allies. Anything in yellow you can choose to ignore, but they are enemies. There is the demon (Red); golems (R/B); morlocks (R/B/G).

Grimnir:
This muscular, violet demon walks upon elephantine feet. Large, razor-sharp horns cover its body. Known to some as “horned demons,” the kalavakus demons are hulking, muscled beasts. They work as slavers on the Abyss, sometimes as harem keepers or captains of the guard for a more powerful demon, and at other times as mercenaries who sell their captured victims for profit to anyone with the funds to pay. They have the ability to enslave the souls of their enemies or prey with ease as well as a general resistance to damage and spells expectant of demons of their station.

Theyve both been very good on posting before. I say you run them this round and I'm sure they will be back by next round. I'm sure Maarve would go looking to drop a nasty bomb on someone and Mathias has his bow out, so Haste-y ranged goodness from him, I'd guess.

Maaarv rushes out and throws an explosive bomb at the blue morlock menacing Mathias.

Blast radius of 10 feet, so it should get both green and red morlocks with splash damage.

The nearly dead morlock leaps to him as the demon steps forward and knocks Grimnir's sword from his hands.

The demon laughs as he tries to sink his other claw into the flesh of the dwarf.

Frustrated, the demon tries to gore Grimnir, but the dwarf's armor is too thick for the demon, so the demon turns to his thrall and rips out the creature's throat with a single bite.

Bite @ Morlock: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

All of the demon's wounds suddenly regenerate as the soul of the morlock is seen erupting into the foul creature.

Maaarv also feels some magical force probing his mind. Need a Will Save against Mind-Affecting/Death.

Maaarv:
DC 18 for the save. Failure means you take a -6 on saves and attack rolls against the demon. Success means you are staggered for one round.

EDIT: Create Pit Save for Demon: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 = 20

The demon stands his ground on the sloped edges of the nearby pit.

Alie looks around the battlefield and sees Grim all by himself against the two enemies. She again tries to drop a pit underneath that awful golem!

First off the map has me confused.. I thought my 5' step would get me out of reach for a full attack from the golem. It only has 10' reach right? I could have stepped to the northern square if I had know he would still reach me a for a full attack..

On the disarm yes a 34 beats him, but does the demon have improved disarm? If not ill get a AoO on him for it before my weapon goes flying.

Need those questions resolved before i act..


1) You were directly south of the statue in between the statue and the floor mural. The golem was shunted forward by Alie's pit. When you save against a pit, you leap to the nearest solid set of squares. For the golem, this could be any squares within 10' as it takes up the whole pit, so it chose the most advantageous which was south of its target.

2) The demon does have Improved Disarm, which is why I used it. :D

Banking on the Demon missing him again and the golem out of the picture Grimnir pulls his backup weapon and attacks the demon once.. Fighting defensively as well..

Mathais swings his longsword with both hands at the same morlock.

Maaarv's bomb immolates the morlock as Mathais lands one blow on the creature.

The other morlock catches the entire gout of the blowback as it appears that the hellknights are breaking through the morlock front line to the south. You can see that most of the enemy morlocks have been slain or captured as they were sandwiched between Bogipfen's remaining loyalists and Primo's hellknights. Karn is rushing from Hellknight to Hellknight giving inspiring words and healing wounds.

The two golems still remain locked in an even battle as even more rocky fists fly.

The golem in the pit looks to climb out as it stands and begins its ascent.

Man... that's awesome. Can someone even make a bad Inquisitor? I feel like as long as you have a positive strength and wisdom modifier the class holds your hand the rest of the way between the different judgments, the 2/3rds spell list and Bane.

Grimnir cuts down the demon with ease as Mathais and Maaarv focus more completely on the morlocks.

Surprisingly, Mathais and Maaarv land all of their attacks, felling the remnants of the morlock chieftains as Ajaprak's golem slams once more into the sandstone golem, rendering it into dust and rubble.

"Take that, ya stupid golem!" yells Ajaprak.

Primo and Karn finish cleaning up the enemy morlocks as she rushes to Maaarv's side as he seems a bit off-kilter. She weaves a bit of natural magic into a long thin point before pressing it against Maaarv's forehead. It slowly pushes inward and the sound of breaking glass can be heard as Maaarv shakes his head.

Break Enchantment

Primo strides up to Grimnir and congratulates him as he casts Cure Serious Wounds on the dwarf twice. "Well fought, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Ever thought about joining the Hellknights?"

Inquisitors are a very versatile class yes.. I have an issue with min/maxing as well.

With your aid, I can give you two days to explore the rest of Rachikan, but then you will be subject to the full force of the law."

"I shall stay here and investigate this plaza with the other archeologists." Karn states before wandering off towards the murals, documenting them with a small pad of parchment.

Ajaprak begins to rip pieces of flesh from the fallen morlocks before moving to the kalavakus demon and cutting forth a horn from the head of the beast.

The broken scroll unfurls in Mathais' hands as he examines the note. I am writing in haste, as we were recently hit with another earthquake. In its aftermath, we discovered a passage leading to a formerly sealed section of the city. It is breathtaking; the marvels of this glorious civilization are unparalleled. In our explorations, we came across a great keep, and within was the most curious door I have ever set eyes upon. The door’s runes claim it leads to the tomb of Inperantike Severina Helsprex—Rachikan’s former ruler. No matter what we tried, the door remained barred.

Jalrgur moves cautiously toward the door. "IS this the one we are meant to examine?"

Jarlgur moves up the plaza's steps and sees a closed giant door, however there is a problem that his keen eyes detect. A pristine fortress, its entrance connected to the plaza by a series of travertine stairs, squats atop a partially buried beast the size of a whale. The fort’s gilded doors are splayed open, leading into a single, torch-lit chamber. Carved onto the fortress’s interior are miniature elephants, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and myriad other four-legged monstrosities.

You climb into the fortress on the beast's back as you leap from the stairs over a 10' gap to the stair attached to the behemoth and see the door that Zarta was likely talking about. You try to open it, but nothing seems to work.

A close examination of the stairs shows grinding on the underside of the behemoth's set and on the top of the plaza's set.

"Hey! I think I found a control panel of sorts in the wall over here." yells Karn to the Pathfinders.

"Alright! Let's take a look at this control panel..."

The alchemist hunkers down to get a close look, trying to recall any knowledge he may have of such things.
