Alie Saechel |
Alie can't make hide nor hair out of the dais or the strange language. "Boys, I've got no idea what that thing is!"
Maaarv Bergavsten |
Maaarv shakes his head as he fights off his strange hunger. "Wow, I'm - well, I'm sorry for that Alie. I don't know if it would make you feel any better, but you taste horrible."
Linguistics: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
He then examines the engravings on the dais. "Hmm, I know a few languages, but this has me beat. I guess maybe it's some important speech that this guy," Maaarv points to the statue on the dais, "gave. You know, maybe this guy was the first mayor of Rachikan or something."
He quickly stands up, "I guess our brutish Jaggar is right in this case - my book learning has brought us bupkis."
Jarlgur Flamnord |
Jarlgur approaches the altar and peers around.

"The statue depicts a Jistkan Artificer in ceremonial robes addressing the people." Jarlgur says. "In Jistkan times, this avenue was known as the Avenue of the Artificer. The statue’s belt contains several semi-precious stones that can easily be pried out. However, even more valuable than the statue’s gem encrusted belt is the actual dais itself. A Jitskan ode to the glory of its Artificers has been etched into the dais, one of the few complete works of Jistkan poetry known to the modern world."
GM Bold Strider |
Those of you near the statue hear a sickening thud echo across the ruins as a voice echoes "Stop hitting me!"

On that miss, it will be a DC 20 Reflex save to take half damage.
"Oooh! Watch out! Sorry!"
Mathais |
Did Mathais's Detect Evil ping?
GM Bold Strider |
Detect Evil gives you a +4 bonus on your Perception roll, which still wouldn't have met the DC, thus you wouldn't have noticed the haunt.
Maaarv throws two bombs with the first slamming into the statue however the second veers off course as it bounces off of an archway overhead.

The group shatters the stone as the spirits erupt from the golem, howling as they ascend into the cavern above them, swirling into a furious gale before they wink out of existence. A single, small spirit seems to move from the shattered statue and makes the wayfinder hum as it possesses the Society device.
Alie feels herself pulled through the ruins to the northeast. The blasted shell of a large structure dominates the northeast corner of the ruin site. Severe damage has laid waste to the area, leaving it quite unrecognizable. Loose rubble lies strewn about the remains of half-collapsed walls, and large tears in the building’s floor provide evidence of a long-forgotten earthquake.

Jarlgur collapses on the floor as the ground wrenches open, tumbling into an open rift. Everyone else looks on in horror as screams of death and despair echo from the rifts. Jarlgur plummets 40' and slams into the bottom of the rift. Suddenly, a writhing mass of buried bodies climb over him struggling to escape their fate as the rifts begin to close. The rest of the Pathfinders begin to see hands and head crest the tops of the rifts, but the earth grinds close, trapping these souls anew with Jaggar inside.
Fall Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 2) = 11
Grind Damage: 8d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 5, 5, 1, 3, 3) = 28
Suddenly, Jarlgur's body is thrust from where the rift was, battered and bloodied, but clutching something in his arms. A piece of a soul floats out of his hands and imbues itself into the wayfinder.
A sudden burst of brilliant energy erupts from Eldis’s wayfinder, coalescing into a ghostly young man peacefully floating in midair. Three distinct yet similar voices emit from the spectre echoing as he speaks; “Thank you for freeing me, I owe you my salvation.” The spirit sways in the air, and a pervading sense of joy fills the area. “You seek my uncle Benton. Please let me tell you how to find him.”
"You seek to enter the Fiendsmaw and destroy the creature within. The morlocks have trapped Uncle Benton to provide a feast for the chaos that crawls... Will you let me aid you in saving Uncle Benton and the world from the chaos that crawls?"
Jaggar Greycloak |
confused...was it Jaggar or Jarlgur trapped inside and taking damage?

Alie Saechel |
"That's the reason we are here, to find Benton. Show us the way, and we will help."
Anyone able to channel or have any healing spells? Alie is pretty beat up.

Eldis' spirit splits off into five pieces and imbues you with his essence as you begin to shine in a brilliant white light. You suddenly know exactly where to go, as if drawn there by Eldis' memories.
Sinking into black waters, a proud citadel struggles to maintain its regality, but the ravages of time have clearly won the battle. This great structure leans towards the embankment of a forgotten cove that seems poised to swallow it whole. Crumbling staircases provide access to the slanted citadel in each of the four cardinal directions, and magnificently carved marble columns line the corridors into the citadel’s dark heart.
Flood waters assault the citadel’s sunken interior, and unless otherwise noted, this water reaches a height of 3 feet. Treat the flooded areas as difficult terrain.
A black obelisk rises from a flooded chamber toward the second story of the citadel. Etched carvings of grotesque tentacles and talons writhe over the obelisk in tribute to some long forgotten mystical power. Atop the obelisk’s platform, a faint humming breaks the silence. Several large, wall murals adorn the walls opposite of the obelisk, depicting a Golarion from long ago.
At the citadel’s heart, a black obelisk constructed from pure jet rises up two stories through the structure’s hollow center. This obelisk radiates strong conjuration magic, and once served to teleport the constructs of the Jistkan army across great distances.
All along the walls stretches a grand mural of Golarion in the Age of Anguish. This mural depicts the locations of three other major Jistkan cities. Study of these murals allows you to identify the general whereabouts of the other cities (Nicyruse near where modern Hinji stands, Ur-Kan in the Rahadoumi desert southeast of Manaket, and Syrasis where the Winding Way flows out of the Napsune Mountains).

Maaarv Bergavsten |
Maaarv quickly chucks an explosive bomb at the morlock.
Splash Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 (+1 if within 30 feet)
Fire Damage: 4d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 4) + 6 = 22 (+1 if within 30 feet)
If that hit (probably not), the morlock will catch on fire taking 1d6 fire damage each round. The morlock can extinguish the flame by spending a full-round action to make a DC 20 Reflex save (rolling on the ground gives a +2 to the save)
GM Bold Strider |
Maaarv throws his bomb at the morlock scaling the obelisk in the center of the ruins, but it misses her and skitters off the edge.

Mathais |
Mathais stands still for a couple of seconds paying attention to the Morlock, before he starts casting a spell See Invisibility, Duration 100 minutes
"The Morlock's getting away. I don't trust this place, so now things that are unseen, I will now be able to see."
Alie Saechel |
Alie will cast Fly on Jaggar, so he can go investigate the morlock and the device it was climbing.
Maaarv Bergavsten |
Maaarv sprouts his wings and takes off after the morlock. Keeping out of melee distance from the creature.
Double move. First is to rise 45-degrees, then up to be as close to equal height as the morlock.
GM Bold Strider |
@Maaarv: You are in a building of sorts. There are three floors and you would have to go to the middle where the obelisk is in order to fly up to keep up with her as that is the only hole in the floors. Alternately, you could fly up the outside of the building. Height of each floor probably about 20'.
Maaarv Bergavsten |
Okay, that's what I thought, so I moved to the center by the obelisk. A double move allows me up to 120 feet of flight, so that shouldn't be a problem.
