Inner Sea Gods, I believe.
Oh, right, of course. Thanks. I will have to look it up when I'm home, don't know that item.
On an unrelated note - it pains me not to be able to present this argument to Dragorin, but in the last scenario I actually used my Detect Alignment ability on the neutral orc we killed, and DM Strider missed that in my post. But it would be pretty hard to make that meta point in an in-character dispute. And I did get a cool vision of Desna out of it, even if she was pissed off. But she's beautiful when she's angry.

Terrill is now leveled up. Here’s what I did/bought:
Retrained Shared Judgment feat to Additional Traits, spent 500 gp and 5PP – picked up Fate’s Favored and Friend in Every Town (except in Cheliax!) from his years wandering the world in service to Desna.
Bought:
cloak of resistance, +2 (sold +1 cloak)
jingasa of the fortunate soldier
upgraded buckler to +2

Dragorin - we need to keep an eye on each other, so one of us can save the other's life and have a revelatory moment where we learn we have more in common than we thought.
Or one of us could watch the other die, and think bad thoughts.

![]() |

I'm good with either ;)

You know you don't need to sell your +1 cloak; you can just pay the difference to upgrade it to a +2. Saves a lot of money that way. There's a thread somewhere called "upgrading your gear in PFS" or something similar although I don't have it handy atm. Basically any item with +X you can just pay the difference to upgrade them (including a headband of vast intelligence +2 to a headband of mental prowess +2, for example).

Thanks, EF. That's very good to know. I knew I could do that with armor and weapons, didn't realize it applied to other numerical bonuses. Will adjust the gold.

The only things you can't do that with (as far as I'm aware) are named items, such as an oathbow.

Also you can't do it with items that are Greater/Lesser. But adding to stat headbands and belts is nice.

Lol, I GM'd this one about a year ago and I honestly can't remember the trick to this wall/riddle. But smashing is usually a legitimate option too.

Happy Birthday GM Boldstrider!

![]() |

Happy birthday to you both!

![]() |

I'll join in, mine was Saturday. Happy Birthday to us all.

![]() |

WOW! I feel left out :( mines not until April

![]() |

Like as not, we'll still be playing in April, so I can join you then Dragorin!
Meantime, happy birthday to Desmond too!

![]() |

October for me....

I know the CRB says 'free action' spells do not need a defensive casting. But I wasn't sure if that would still apply to swift action spells.
Hm. I know I've heard before that swift action spells don't provoke. I don't remember there being any 'free action' spells so maybe what they mean is swift action spells since swift actions are sort of like free actions that you can only take once per round. . . or something like that.

September here. Happy birthday, Bold Strider and Terrill!

![]() |

Thanks for another great game, Bold Strider!

![]() |

Yes, thanks for another excellent adventure.
Now, to get Maaarv through his minecart misadventures.

![]() |

By the way, I think your Discussion and Gameplay threads got disconnected from the campaign. When I click on the links they take me to the Online Campaign overview page.

![]() |

Thanks a lot for this one Bold Strider, looking forward to part III!

![]() |

They are working now. Must've clicked them right after you changed the names.

![]() |

Still 9th for Hal, and ready to go. Got myself a jingasa (one of these days I'll realize that my AC's fine for a ranged character) and a few expendables.

![]() |

Thanks for the Great game Boldstrider!
Have fun on your B-day weekend!
FYI:
Dragorin can use Heal for dayjob checks. I don't need a new chronicle, just
wanted to give you a heads up for next time.
Dragorin is now 11th level and I'm just going to buy a malleable symbol and maybe some new wands.

![]() |

Ha! completely missed that you rolled mine. I didn't see it right way on my chronicle sheet for some reason either. I'm just spacing. I had physics class last night so my brain must just be a bit fried at the moment.

![]() |

Okay, now that I've hoarded a little over 20k gp - what to buy...

![]() |

@Desmond: if you don't have it already, get a hunter's band. Pretty great for a ranger. 11000 gp for +5 Survival, tireless pursuit during long travel, and +1 attack bonus against all of your favored enemies. Maybe not the greatest, but it's one of my favorite ranger items.

![]() |

Hmm, a space yak is tempting... but maybe something fun for Sahrek. I'll have to check to see if there's anything interesting in the Animal Archive once I'm home.
The headband sounds cool - but I do like having my current headband.
Des will need to think about it all some more.
I actually like the idea of putting the vicious quality onto the falchion. Desmond has a bit of a masochistic streak running through him.

I've been thinking about the question of another save vs dominate person and decided to do a little search-fu, found James Jacobs' views on the question. I don't mean to argue for a major retcon, especially since Halbarad has already acted under the influence of the domination, but it's worth keeping in mind if she throws other commands at him.
I don't know that Dragorin would get another save in such a situation, but it seems most of the rest of us would... ;)

![]() |

I would it it seemed Unlawful!

GM Bold Strider |

My question would be: Would it matter if the Dominate Person's original command is to defend the woman against anyone who would attack her? As it seems to me, that would severely limit the spell as then you would require any target to make two saves before the Dominate Person takes effect if someone has a philosophical difference between them and the dominator.
This is besides whether Halbarad it is against Halbarad's nature to defend someone who was attacked first by someone else.

![]() |

I've always seen a lot of table variation on dominate person. If you were requiring that I deal lethal damage to my comrades, I'd be inclined to take Terrill's position. As you are not doing so, I think your call is a reasonable interpretation of the spell.
There are, of course, other ways to get me a second save. *cough* *cough* Terrill *cough* *cough*

![]() |

This is definitely one of the vaguer spell descriptions, but I think there's a case to be made that it's intended to make it a little harder to use one PC to kill other PCs (especially when they're a bunch of loyal Pathfinders!) But I say this in the spirit of "Isn't this interesting?" rather than "That's not fair!"
And Hal - I know, I know! I was going to make it a pleasant surprise! In fact, I was trying to decide whether to use my lucky presence blessing to give you two chances to roll the save, but that would take another standard action to pull off. Who knows what the mean lady would do in that time?
Of course, I could cast invisibility to fix you up nice and safely, but there's another action spent...
Here's a question - if I cast protection from evil on you and you don't make the newly-granted save, can I cast it on you again? I'm guessing no, but I don't know that for sure.

![]() |

It's a dismissable spell, so I'd say so. Just dismiss the first one and cast it again.
