Kelkzar, just confirmed I will be at RockCon GM'ing on Saturday. I'm running Bloodcove Disguise and Rescue at Azlant Ridge in the morning/afternoon. Coincidentally enough those were the scenarios I ran at GenCon a couple years ago.

I'll keep an eye out for you there! I have Saturday night open, are you running anything then?

I saw you were adding those. Some of my favorite scenarios! I'm running Sewer Dragons on Saturday night. Pete and I added the Bones II countdown earlier this week too since the Kickstarter ends right between the Saturday afternoon and Saturday night slots.

I saw you had the night game, I only have a level 2 monk so I don't think I am high enough level for it. Unless I can do a premade

You can do a pre-gen, but might as well see what else is going too.

Hopefully my tables will fill up, need more players for them. There might be walk-ons as well.

Thanks, all. It was a good funeral; I knew her peripherally and wasn't completely aware she'd been extremely active as a volunteer in a lot of different areas. As a result there was a huge mob of people there--from personal experience, that can make a big difference for the family.

It is entirely possible that I enjoyed that doppleganger encounter too much. I say this, because as everyone was posting their readiness to go into the warehouse, what I really wanted to post was:

A sinister grin grows on Rauno's face as he chimes in "Ready". The wizard's voice has an alien tone to it, enough so that you glance back to see him standing with his dagger thrust through the chest of [PC name here], the dark, rich blood of their heart glistening on the blade...

Well, you get the idea... ;)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I enjoyed it! I almost wish the doppleganger could have made it around a corner or outside to where he could have changed into an innocent bystander claiming Rauno went "that way!" pointing in a false direction.

It had me guessing for a while. Great fun!

I've been putting my other games on hiatus until the 6th, but if you guys want to keep going at a slow pace over the holiday break that is fine too.

Either way I want to thank all of you for a great game. As we near the end of the second year and approach the third I hope that we can all keep this going together to the end!

I'm good with slowing down, although if Rowena is going to be incommunicado for any length of time it might be an issue since she's the one with options at the moment.

Considering that we're fighting shapechangers in a world where magic works, I can't believe I'm reacting to the octopus being unable to follow Rowena this way. But do you know how those things can squeeze themselves? Here's a video of one escaping through a 1" hole, and here's another of a very large one getting out through a hole the size of a quarter.

No I agree with your criticism, let's say instead that it won't follow down the tunnel for other reasons Perhaps the water has been drained from here before and it got caught in tunnel and almost died.

They are pretty smart, after all.

Enjoy your holidays, all. We just finished Christmas Eve dinner--Mary Ellen made bread, strujkli (Slavic steamed dumpling with scrambled egg filling & onion gravy), and a really excellent tomato cream soup. I made bronzed salmon and carrots with ginger & garlic. For dessert she made walnut strudel and I made rice pudding. The kids are cleaning up now.

Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit like stabbing octopuses with reach weapons.

Well almost at the end of my 18 day break from work (Sunday and Monday left). The rest and relaxation have been good. PBP wise I have updated some of the things I use for this game to make things go a little smoother (In two years I have learned some tricks but haven't really updated my notes for some reason)

Anyways I am charged up and ready to push to the next stage of this AP. In 3 weeks we will be at our 2 year mark!

You all swim up to the surface and climb the ladder to the top of the stone pillar. On top of the pillar is a large metal lever. A stone platform, 50 feet above the floor of the room and at the same level as the pillar leads to a door in the south wall.

From far below the surface of the water comes the voice of the octopus: "It's a trap!"

The level of paranoia and confusion is at the right level!

When everyone is out to get you, paranoia is just good thinking!

Hey, it's not like I asked people for some of their blood and tested it with a hot wire.

You might have had kind of a "slow" doppleganger with you and said "Ok, I think we are all dopplegangers. Let's all change shape at the same time to a normal form and kill whoever doesn't change." Then it changes while everyone else is the same and take care of it!

What if we are all dopplegangers now and none of know that the others have been replaced? We could continue on through the whole adventure not knowing that none of us are the original PCs, and end up with a bunch of dopplegangers saving the world while they "play along" and look for their chance to strike!

By the way, just signed up for Gary Con for all you locals! (Mar 27th through 30th)
