Please note that, starting Thursday, I will have very reduced access to Internet and might not be able to post, or not so often, for a week and a half.

Didn't mean to ignore this question, but it kinda got lost in the scramble
Incidentally, what *is* our legal standing at the moment? Not that Quintus is going to walk away from an evil and heretical cult that threatens all that he holds dear, but it'd be nice to know how the eventual class action suit against the party is going to go down.
While none of you are lawyers, it is a borderline issue.
First, technically they may not have done anything illegal, or at least you don't have any proof they have.
Second, Everything so far has been to defend their temple
But overall I doubt the legal system is that complex. Sure you might be technically breaking the law, but it is an evil cult, you have the mayor's brother on your side, and they have been hidden in a mine, not open on the street. (A temple on the street that you ransack would probably be an issue)

Probable cause, after the fact :)

I'll be away until Monday.

Just FYI for everyone, I want to remind you that you gain a hero point every level. I'm pretty sure I let everyone know that, but I am doubting myself now. Some of you have used some so far I know, but just reminded everyone just in case.
Also I will be going on a short vacation leaving tomorrow and returning Sunday. I will have my laptop and my phone, but will probably only update once later in the night, but I will still be updating! Hopefully we can get everyone back soon!

I live in Chicago (Western Suburbs and work downtown), but hadn't even realized it was coming up. Will have to look into it. We're all big readers. Is there any gaming associated with it?
Quintus of Taldor
There's nothing specific listed on their website, although it's mentioned in the general activities list and they have a couple of people listed on the committee as dealing with gaming.

We've got our annual Director's Conference in Jackson Hole through Friday so unless it really wraps Thursday night, I probably won't make Friday. And it turns out my son has the PSAT on Saturday. So I'm most likely looking at Sunday (almost for sure) and possibly Saturday. Will let you know what I figure out. Its only an hour and a half from my house.

OK, hate to do it, but need to throw it out there. Lessien has been gone for about 6 weeks now and they were going to be gone about 3. So I'd like to take a vote on what everyone thinks we should do.
Start looking for a replacement or wait? If the decision to replace is made, they wouldn't join until the current battle is over, but I would like to give them some time to get their character done and get them caught up in the game so far.
Thanks.

Same pattern for the game he GMs. Can we continue with five for now? If not, it's up to you, but I'm fine also with recruiting.
Rowena Lordail
Have you sent a PM? Lately, anybody who hasn't posted in a thread for a week or more loses their dot. If Lessien checked the thread but didn't post when he got back, he might think there's been no activity.
Otherwise, yeah let's replace. I'd say don't kill her off quite yet just in case, but start looking for a replacement, or take a recommendation from somebody here.
Rauno Redpath
I agree on the PM tactic. If that's been tried or it doesn't work, then perhaps let one or two of your players here drop a note in another online game rather than go through open recruitment.
I know RL can take you out for weeks at a time, but we have no way of knowing if it is a computer virus, family or fiscal issues, etc., so I'm all in favor of trying to contact first.

Seems like everyone is thinking the same as me, I would like to keep things the same, but also have tuned the game for six and don't feel I can run someone else's character well enough to contribute effectively. The current terrain has made Lessien's low involvement ok for now, but this fight will soon be over and I'd like full participation.
I'm not going to make any move until after labor day, which is one more week for them to reply or be back.
Trevor the Yellow
Please note I'll be away until Monday night. I'll have very very limited access from time to time, but don't expect much.
GM Blood
As we are disclosing, this is Labor day weekend and I will be gaming this weekend so Saturday night/Sunday will probably be a wash for me other than a quick check in, so starting Saturday, not much from me until Monday
Today, tomorrow, and Saturday early I will be available and try to keep things moving as best as I can.

Just to clarify, the potion of Ghoul Touch in the syringe... The person injected is then considered the subject of the spell and can touch another to paralyze them, right? I want to make sure I'm not going to plunge this into an ally and paralyze them. :) So the person injected becomes the subject of the spell (imbued with negative energy and able to touch others and paralyze them), right?
GM Blood
Ok, with a sad heart I am going to make the call today that Lessien will be out. I will DMPC the character through this fight. I have picked out a replacement already, they have been in another game with me and has been following the AoW #2 game. I think they will fit in good and is a reliable poster.
This gives them some time to get their character in order for inclusion in the game after labor day.

Hey everyone,
Just posting to say 'hi' for now and dot the Discussion. Like GM Blood said, I've been reading Group 2 (because it was my first-ever PbP application, but didn't make the cut) so I'm sort of familiar with the plot-thus-far as well as posting conventions.
I still have to get my character sheet squared away and finalize trait/feat/spell selections. My take on things / the-group-as-described is that you don't have a lot of (primary) ranged combat, so in that light I've made her to try and fit that slot. If anyone has any recommendations or feedback for how to best complement existing play I'd love to hear it.
Rowena Lordail
We have a lot of focus on the Empyreal Lords in this group (not sure about the other group). A Zen Archer follower of Korada could be fun (personal bias aside;)).
Rangers and fighters make good ranged folk as well (obviously), and sorcerers make excellent ranged blasty types. Bards work well, too.
GM Blood
Quintus, Rauno could detect there was something magical, but not that it was a trap per se. So say a door had a glyph of warding on it, Detect Magic would detect a magical aura on the door and that it was abjuration magic. You could deduce it was a trap from that maybe, but you wouldn't know for sure.

May be I will need to make a new character soon :)
