Restoration is only 100gp (Each) at least for the permanent one. The Temp one can be regained easier...

The +10 to the DC to ID cursed items can be rough!


Ah, I was looking at the cost for negative levels. Okay, that's better then. I'm glad he didn't get hit with that mid adventure though.

So, did we assess any value to the other items? Can anyone else identify the chains moving by themselves? Is the dragon head worth anything? The beholder stalks? What was that little cage with thorns, and the necromantic doll of Trevor with spikes? When we check out the doll, I think Quintus and I should do it together, with protection from evil cast on us. It just gives me a bad feeling.

I might be able to identify the chains. I had to go back and make sure I hadn't already tried, but it was only the vrock that I identified.
Knowledge (planes) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 And since its likely monster lore would apply it would bump it to 32.\

That Trevor doll creeps me out too.


Everything else I didn't put a spoiler on or a value on are just creepy items that the Mind Flayer collected. Any of those items you can sell back to your temple for 100 gp each. (Who knows what evilt hings can be done with them so some value should be given)

Cursed items, like the book just read, aren't valued at anything and are harder to identify. (To identify it is 25+CL of the item instead of 15+CL of the item)

Any evil items you find can be sold at one of your good temples for the normal 1/2 price which they can indeed destroy.

I am close to finishing our treasure count from the doppleganger levels to the end of the chapter. It is looking like we'll be getting in the neighborhood of 19,000 each.


I'm not counting consumables in the treasure tally. Here's what we have on that front.

Two potions of cure serious wounds.
Six potions of cure moderate wounds (one each already carried by: Trevor, Kelkzar and Rowena, three unclaimed).
One potion of invisibility (carried by Rowena).
A wand of spiritual weapons, 26 charges (carried by Quintus).
Two scrolls of cure moderate wounds (carried by Quintus).
A wand of cure moderate wounds, 26 charges originally (carried by Quintus).
Two alchemist fires (carried by Quintus).
A scroll of mage armor (carried by Jirin).
A scroll of hold person (carried by Rauno).
A scroll of dominate person (carried by Rauno).
A scroll of fireball (used by Rauno).

so everything except those first potions of healing listed are dispersed.

Rauno will be crafting, definitely. But two weeks isn't a huge amount of time. But he has a ring of sustenance, so he only needs two hours of sleep. That means as we move on in the next story, he will keep on crafting

I don't think Rauno has Forge Ring, and the spell needed for rings of protection is clerical. (Part of why I was considering having Quintus pick up the feat; some of the best rings require clerical spells, and AIUI magic item creation can't be done cooperatively.)

Actually, I'm pretty sure magic item can be done cooperatively--you can get anybody you want to cast the required spells for you (though maybe that's just a house rule I've always played with). However, the point about him not having Forge Ring is well taken. So I can just hope that they get a bit more than Rauno's estimate, or that he can make her cloak for her.

You're right about cooperative item creation; I missed the parenthetical in the PRD.


I am ok with Quintus casting the spell Rauno would need to create something, for instance. House rule or not.

Still a few levels before we all can have rings of regeneration, though.


Right now Rauno just has Craft Wondrous Items and Craft Magic Arms and Armor. He will gladly put those to use for everyone. He was only able to enchant his own ring because it is a bonded object.

I don't want to just split Rauno's time evenly; if someone needs a custom item for a particular boost or effect or something, I think we can bump it up on the priority list and give it a few days focus. Also, once we start adventuring again, Rauno will keep working on things in his spare time. Other than a handy haversack, I think Rauno will hold off on crafting for himself in favor of his friends.

I have received revised instructions from the GM to split things five ways.

That means we each get 24,911 gp (+12 cp) except Trevor, who gets 6,561 gp (+12 cp).We also have a 5,000 gp group treasure coming our way.

With his Healer's Blessing ability, the rod doesn't do much for Quintus. The breastplate would be good, though; no improvement to AC, but light fortification helps. Unless Kelkzar wants it.

Also, we should hang on to the 3 sets of +1 studded leather armor for Trevor, Kelkzar, and Quintus to sleep in, unless they've already got something that good.

Okay, thank you for making the headband. Coupled with selling her amulet, that'll give her enough. I thought the 24k was in addition to the 1k they're getting later, so otherwise she won't have enough for all the nice things she wants.

By adding 5 to the DC you could speed this up to 2 days (at DC 23 Spellcraft). I believe you can take ten with magic item creation putting your spellcraft check at 29.

Yes, he could enhance the plate for Trevor. Looking at what the GM reminded me of, take 10 and accelerating, he can probably double the effectiveness of his crafting for most items, as long as the DC isn't too high.


Rauno can accelerate crafting on most items while taking 10, giving him effectively 30 1,000 gp sessions during the expected down time. He can craft (or raise) armor and weapon bonuses up to +3. He can create or upgrade ability enhancement items. There are currently five of us, so that would be six 1,000 gp sessions on average. If someone needs more than that, we can see what ends up on everyone's wishlists; maybe someone won't need all six of theirs. The other option is to have Rauno continue enchanting as we adventure. I know I am planning on working on smaller items for Rauno as we go.

As far as loot goes, Rauno is interested in the spell book (of course, which he can sell after he copies new spells out of it), the metamagic rod, the periapt of health, the boots of elvenkind and the ring of counterspells. If anyone else is interested in those last three items, they can take them; Rauno can pretty easily reproduce them.

Here's what I'm looking at for Rauno's spending at this point. The order in which he'll craft, as well as what will or will not be done before the end of the fifteen days, will depend on what I can do for other players.

Craft cloak of resistance from +1 to +3, 4,000 gp
Bonded Object (ring), add effects of ring of protection +1 and ring of feather falling , 3,150 gp
Take periapt of health as loot (3,750 gp) and add amulet of natural armor +1 effect to it (sell old amulet for 1,000 gp, craft 1,500 gp). Total 4,250 gp.
Take lesser empowered metamagic rod as loot, 4,500 gp.
Craft a belt of physical might +2 (constitution, dexterity), 5,000 gp.
Craft a handy haversack, 1,000 gp.
Craft boots of feather step, 1,000 gp.
Craft an arrow magnet (300 gp) and a bead of newt prevention (500 gp).
Add spells to spell book (880 gp total) for hold person and dominate person from captured scrolls, and confusion, phantasmal killer, clairvoyance, slow and arcane lock from captured spell book.

I assume Quintus has no trouble removing the last of Rowena's Con damage (or that it will healing normally on its own as well).

Rauno, if you can squeeze another thing into the crafting schedule...if you could make her an amulet of mighty fists with disruption (+2 ability, 10,000 gp cost), it would cost her 5,000 instead of 4,000 for buying the undead bane. I'm thinking that the chance with each hit (Will save DC 14) of outright destroying an undead she hits is better than the +2 to hit and +2d6+2 damage. Even with the extra damage, she's not going to do more than fling stones compared to the cannons of Kelkzar and Trevor.

Next down time, hopefully they'll have some more treasure, and she can get bane added.

If you can't squeeze her in, I'll just have her buy a bane amulet and get disruption added later.

Still crazy busy at work and have a pretty large post ahead of me to push us into the next chapter, but want to make sure everyone is ready, not only for leveling (Which it looks like it complete) but also getting the items they want before starting.

I want to work on getting some more mobility for Kelkzar, so go ahead and put that breastplate back into party loot. Kelkzar will also put his +1 lamellar steel armor back into party loot. I will hang onto the ring of protection +2 although I don't think I had it factored into his stats for the latest stretch of adventures :(

Next priorities will be
- Upgrade falchion to keen
- Figure out a light armor option that doesn't completely hose his AC
- Cloak of fangs just because its cooler than a cloak of resistance (and very fitting for Kelkzar)

- Take ring of protection +2 from party loot (4,000 gp, thanks for the flex on that Trevor!; total 20,911 gp)
- Take +1 chain shirt (625 gp; total 20,286)
- Sell or return to party loot +1 lamellar (steel) armor (650 gp; total 20,936 gp)
- Upgrade +1 chain shirt to +2 chain shirt (1.5 slots of Rauno time, 1500 gp; total 19,436 gp)
- Upgrade +1 falchion to +1 keen falchion (3 slots of Rauno time, 3,000 gp; total 16,436 gp)
- Upgrade +1 amulet of natural armor to +2 amulet of natural armor (3 slots of Rauno time, 3,000 gp; total 13,436 gp)
- Sell or return to party lot +1 cloak of resistance (500 gp; total 13,936 gp)
- Buy cloak of fangs (2,800 gp, total 11,136 gp)
- Upgrade belt of giant strength +2 to +4 (6 slots of Rauno time, 6,000 gp; total 5,136 gp)

I'm going to keep it clean and put the chain shirt upgrade and the belt of giant strength upgrade into the future wish list for Rauno and plan to start without them.

Also, it looks like sadly I have misinterpreted Amplified Rage so unless I figure out a way to get Trevor to join Kelkzar in his battle fury or acquire a wolverine as a rage buddy, I will need to forgo that feat.

Instead I will lock in Paired Opportunists (which is always good with Rowena around) and add Swarm Strike as the swappable feat (which should be handy for the same reason).

For the regular feat, I'm going to go with Extra Rage. Six extra rounds will mean I can use it a lot more. I'll consider going down the Rage Power route down the road.

I'm still up in the air about the last spell. It does look like inquisitors don't have an aura. Probably to help them hide. Think I'll make it Battle Trance. Seems another one in keeping with Kelkzar.

I'm assuming Rauno can help with the Handy Haversack and the Slippers.

I'm retraining my level 1 feat (PBS) for EWP (Fauchard), and the Falchion is retroed into a fauchard (spoke with GM beforehand).

I'll grab the +1 heavy steel shield. Too bad about the spellstoring morningstar... It would have made an awesome backup weapon (getting greedy, not very paladiny...)!
