Trevor the Yellow |

I chose my feat: furious focus
No item that would interest me.
PM on its way GM Blood.

Kelkzar Redjaw |

I'm fine with Rowena taking the circlet and amulet. Wisdom does help Kelkzar's initiative and spell DCs, but since he is not going to be using spells on others generally, it really only helps initiative. Plus it would look odd on him :) Now, Quintus may have use for it, so you might have to roll with him for it. AC is welcome for Kelkzar as he is going to get hit a lot, but it isn't critical.
I will take the potion of cure light or cure moderate, also because he gets hit a lot.
I would just as soon sell the chainmail. I'd rather enchant something down the road.
Wands should probably go to Rauno. Goggles to Lessien.

Lessien Nenmacil |

I can definitely use the goggles. The amulet interests me but I think I have the highest AC already (at least for a half hour at a time), so Ro or Kelkzar would probably get much better use out of it, at least until Ro gets barkskin (assuming she's taking the Qing'gong path, I don't know the details of her build).
Can alchemists use wands if the spell is on the alchemist list? I'm working on UMD in any case, but it would be nice to know some wands will just work :)
I'll be sticking with light armor.
I'd say lets go ahead and sell everything else at this point, get some spending money. I want to do some craft(alchemy) in the upcoming downtime and need to buy components. :) While I get sneak attack dice instead of bombs, I still get throw anything, and I still get to add my int mod to splash damage, so I really want some alchemists fire for dealing with swarms.

Rauno Redpath |
Why don't we have Rauno take the wand of unseen servant and the wand of shatter, as well as the syringe and injectable potions?
I don't think the wands are worth selling and I believe he's the only one who can use them. As for the injectable potions, Rauno could take those too. It would give him something to do with some rounds other than crossbow shots until his spells per day get higher.
GM, is using the syringe against a defending enemy considered a regular attack? Is it considered unarmed (provoking an AoO if he tries it)?

Lessien Nenmacil |

As another possibility, would those injectables be treatable as poisons I could apply to weapons using alchemist poison?
(To clarify, I didn't mean 'sell everything I don't want', I just meant at this point sell everything nobody wants, even if it puts us on people's radar. :)

GM Blood |

OK, lets see if I get this straight
chainmail +1 (Sell)
mw quarterstaff (Sell)
wand of unseen servant - 16 charges (Rauno)
wand of shatter - 7 Charges (Rauno)
goggles of minute seeing (Lessien)
Circlet of Wisdom +2 (with Zosiel's glyph) [Rowena or Quintus]
Amulet of Natural Armor +1 (Rowena)
These potions from Filge
potion of cure moderate wounds (Kelkzar)
potion of cure light wounds (Kelkzar or someone else?)
The the 4 injectable potions via the syringe device (Rauno)
Milky Blue potion of gentle repose
Deep Red potion of false life
Sallow Yellow potion of ghoul touch
White with Black Streaks potion of chill touch
I am not sure Quintus is around to make a claim on it so I added his name to the circlet
This is also what is remaining that hasn't been claimed or sold. We'll say the money from the owlbear will come tomorrow if you decide to start selling other things.
Red metal pedestal made from something unknown (Weighs 200 lbs worth 300gp)
Silver Pathfinder Ring - Worth 75gp
Gold Pathfinder Ring - Worth 200gp
Black demon horns with red tips
Box with Lamashtu glyphs on it
Magic inside box - talisman of the sphere
Baby Owlbear - 2,250 gp (in about a week from finding it)
[30 gp 2 sp left]
Blackened Spectacles (75gp) - Blocks bright light, +2 to saves vs daze or similar effects
Lammasu Rug worth 200 gp
Silver operating instruments - 500gp as a set
Emerald worth 20gp

Lessien Nenmacil |

Can I make a craft(alchemy) roll to try to ID the material of the pedestal? If so, 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10. (Well, that probably won't help in any case)
"Shall we cremate or bury the rug out of respect? We should hide the talisman somewhere safe. We should probably carry the spectacles in someone's pack, but it looks like we can sell the rest of this."

GM Blood |

Can I make a craft(alchemy) roll to try to ID the material of the pedestal? If so, 1d20+9. (Well, that probably won't help in any case)
Its made of some unknown metal. Even Allustan says he hasn't seen its type before. The value comes from the rarity or in the case uniqueness.

Quintus of Taldor |

Quintus, level 3 feat?
Scribe Scroll, unless anyone can think of a better option. I like the idea of carrying around a scroll or three of lesser restoration, bear's endurance, or bull's strength, and they don't take that long to make.

GM Blood |

This look good? Amulet of Nat Armor goes to?
Keep
chainmail +1 (Quintus)
wand of unseen servant - 16 charges (Rauno)
wand of shatter - 7 Charges (Rauno)

Circlet of Wisdom +2 (with Zosiel's glyph) [Rowena]
Amulet of Natural Armor +1 (Rowena or Kelkzar)
These potions from Filge
potion of cure moderate wounds (Kelkzar)
potion of cure light wounds (Kelkzar or someone else?)
The the 4 injectable potions via the syringe device (Rauno)
Milky Blue potion of gentle repose
Deep Red potion of false life
Sallow Yellow potion of ghoul touch
White with Black Streaks potion of chill touch
Box with Lamashtu glyphs on it

I am assuming you will keep that. In your house? With Allustan?
Sell
mw quarterstaff
Red metal pedestal made from something unknown (Weighs 200 lbs worth 300gp)
Black demon horns with red tips (75gp Each)
Baby Owlbear - 2,250 gp
[30 gp 2 sp left]
Silver operating instruments - 500gp as a set
Emerald worth 20gp
Total money after selling 2,915 gp, 2sp
Not sure about the below items. Do you want to sell to Tidwoad (50%) or try and get a little more money by offering them to the Pathfinders in town? (More than 50% up to 75%) It just so happens that two of them frequent Lazare's House where you are heading to meet with Lazare.
Silver Pathfinder Ring - Worth 75gp
Gold Pathfinder Ring - Worth 200gp
Decision on the rug? Not sell and bury?
Lammasu Rug worth 200 gp

Rowena Lordail |

This is completely out of character, but the way I'm used to divvying up loot is to count items being kept as full price, add in loose change and money earned from selling unwanted stuff to get a total, divide it evenly, and hope that no one person got to keep enough stuff to put their share over everybody else's, giving everybody enough loose change to bring them up to even. If somebody does end up with more than their "fair share", we just try to remember that for future divisions. Being a copper-Nazi is just annoying, but as long as everybody tries to be as fair as possible, usually nobody gets too miffed. Personally, I've never been one to complain if I get a little less than others; sometimes to my detriment, as I rarely fight for loot and end up fifth level in one of my games with a 3rd WBL character inventory!

Lessien Nenmacil |

What I normally do is total up the sell prices for everything, and then divide by the number of players. That is the 'virtual' share. With that virtual share money or with real money they had already, players can buy items from the loot for the sell price (generally 50%, the values that are divided into the share, in any case), before the items actually get sold off. When the items are sold, any money spent from the player's share to buy equipment at half price is subtracted from their share of the cash (and any extra they had to put in is divided among the other players shares).
Usually until level 3-4, players don't have enough money to quite pull that off, but after that generally people have plenty of gold to make it work.
For now, we may just want to divide the cash evenly and use as much as we can of what we find, and when we get another couple of levels, we can calculate everyone's wealth values and divide a higher level loot stash unevenly if it needs evening out.
I would say approach the pathfinders and see if they are interested in the rings. Once we have given Allustan a chance to do what he wants to do at the Cairn, we can even tell them where we found them.

Trevor the Yellow |

I'm good with any system.
Trevor doesn't need anything on the list, but would like Rowena to get the amulet of natural armor :)
As for the box with the talisman, if it can be carried, he'll say that Kelkzar or Quintus or Rauno should probably keep it with them at all time.
He'll agree about destroying any "tainted" loot like the rug or the horn.
For the Pathfinder ring, he'll agree that they could be used later to start a conversation.

Kelkzar Redjaw |

I'm good with any system too. I'm fine with Rowena having the amulet. I think Rauno should have the Talisman of the Sphere. I agree with destroying or burying the rug and horn. I'm inclined to sell the rings to the Pathfinders now that we've cleared the cairn.

Rauno Redpath |
I'm good with any system. I like those mentioned; they help keep things from getting too off balance between PCs.
I also am willing to sell anything, but if some want certain items (like the pelt) to be dealt with differently, I'm willing to let them do so without being penalized financially since it is so in line with their characters' personalities.
I'll add the talisman to Rauno's stuff. If that throws too much of the treasure value to him, we can consider selling one or both of the wands.

Rowena Lordail |

Rauno isn't really "getting" the talisman, he's just carrying it. Something like that is a "group" item, for possible need down the road.
Lessien's and my systems are pretty close, netting the same result. Lessien's divides the price of kept items first, then lets people "buy" them with smaller individual shares, where as my system lets people "buy" items first with much larger individual shares. People still get the same amount of loot. Lessien's may be less bookkeeping, though.
I'll add the amulet to Rowena. The cleric should get the circlet at this point.

Trevor the Yellow |

My plans have changed dramatically (in a good way in fact), so I'll be bearer a computer than I thought this Summer. I'll give the dates where I can't post as usual.

Trevor the Yellow |

Please note that I'll be far from a computer from Thursday the 28, until probably Sunday the 8. I might have limited access, but nothing is certain at this moment.

Rauno Redpath |
A couple of follow up questions.
Did we decide to split the 2915 gp, 2 sp amongst all evenly for now and go to a more equitable system when we have more treasure coming in? I’m showing that would be 485 gp each, with 5 gp and 2 sp that could be carried over to the next division.
Does anyone want to use the day until the meeting with Lazare to bury the lammasu hide? While Rauno does not begrudge those who would prefer to bury it than sell it, he doesn't feel strongly enough about it take care of burying it himself.
I’m updating my character sheet finally after the last treasure division. Do we have a weight for the syringe device, the talisman of the sphere and the box it came in? Does Rauno have a reason to believe the talisman should be kept in the box? Is it fragile, or does the box shield the item in some arcane fashion?

Trevor the Yellow |

Please note I probably won't be able to post from Friday to Monday.

GM Blood |

OK, we are on the verge of being over the role playing part and back into a more combat oriented area. When it begins I would like to get back to a quicker pace. I know summer can make that hard, and I am cool about being notified when people are going to be gone (Like me from Aug 22nd until the 27th...not sure how much I will be able to post then).
Before this starts up, I want to give everyone a chance to back out of the game if they need to or want. I hope everyone will want to stay on and is having a good time, but there is no hard feelings if availability is not there to keep up with the pace or if the game is just not to your style.
If you want or need to back out just let me know in a private post. No need to explain why, its all good.
Thanks everyone for a great part 1 of Age of Worms!

Trevor the Yellow |

Thanks to you GM Blood, I have a lot of fun so far, and am not planning to leave.

Trevor the Yellow |

Except me, I'm not going to make a move :) I spend my time checking out Rowena...

Quintus of Taldor |

I'm also having a great time, and would like to continue.
WRT the leader issue, Trevor has the highest CHA in the party, followed by Quintus. IIRC, Kelkzar, Rowena, and Lessien are in single digits. Despite that, Kelkzar is probably the closest thing to a leader inside the party (and I'm trying to RP Quintus coming to terms with being a party face), but Mr Lane has had a rather busy summer...which is why a certain merry band of pirates is hanging fire for the time being ;-).

Kelkzar Redjaw |

I'd like to stay in too and get my merry band of pirates rolling again too. If I don't get to that one before next week, look for it to get rolling then since I'll be on vacation and have some extra time.
I pretty much agree with Quintus's assessment. I have pushed Kelkzar as more of a leader since Trevor looks up to him, but he's really not suited to it long term. An interesting group since both of the obvious leaders (Quintus and Trevor) are dealing with...issues.

Rowena Lordail |

Rowena has wisdom on her side, which can lead a small group who already trusts her. She's not the type to inspire folk to die for her, but she can be trusted to make sensible decisions.
Although she did just call the town's worst crime lord "fat" for some reason.

Rowena Lordail |

Hey, everyone has an off day.
Yep. My paladin in a RotRL game on these boards might be getting arrested when he gets back in town for putting his hands on a mouthy town guard that was being flippant and snarky and not taking the very real danger they were in seriously.
Or worse. He might have to apologize.
[/Shudder]

Lessien Nenmacil |

I'm all about a combat game, but I'm getting married this weekend and then honeymoon for a couple of weeks. I'll be online when possible, and hopefully with the wedding all done with I'll have more time for playing again.
So if you're okay with ~3 more weeks of a tough schedule from me, I'm still interested. If I don't post within 12 hours or so, GMPC would be much appreciated.

Rauno Redpath |
I am definitely on board to go on. I've been having a blast with this game. I'm still looking fo my footing to make Rauno effective support for the team, but I think with some more advancement that will come.
Stats-wise and personality-wise I never really saw Rauno as a leader for the group. I think there are characters better suited for it. As a player, I can see about trying to help prompt things along when the opportunity arises.

Quintus of Taldor |

Getting back for a moment to loot division, Quintus will offer to forgo his share of the gold, excepting enough to buy a healer's kit. "The armor and the circlet are more than enough for me."
He'll also go with burying the lammasu hide during the day before meeting with Lazare.
