And I just so happen to know Doom
Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh
Oh, Jaq would rather corrupt him first, THEN fear can follow.

Posting right quick before I turn in for the night.
Crafting, there will be a certain individual the party runs across that can serve as the 'group craftsman', because don't villains have better things to do than spend days hunched over a table? True villains don't slave away building their own equipment, they get a henchman to do it! You may have to 'donate' spells, however.
Terrain, ranger terrains that are preferable are Urban, Forest, Mountains, and Plains.
Favored foes, humans and outsider(good) are great choices.
Also, no one worry about taking leadership, as the 'minion' system will grant followers. There will also be NPC 'cohorts' for the group, though I will only allow one to travel with you all at a time, assuming it is sane to do so.

Now, any other major planning before we start? Any thoughts on what people's roles will be or any general tactics we want to plan on using?
The Cloaked One
As long as I have a flanking buddy, I'll be touch attacking like a boss. Come level 2, I'll be doing it while invisible, so the partner becomes unnecessary. *evil grin*
Vritra
Early levels I'll probably be smashing things with Hammer outside of Rage, which I'll only use when I have to unless we get something to mitigate the Fatigue. When raging I'll swap over to the lovely pair of claws I get, and with Feral Combat Training I get to use Stunning Fist and get bonus damage from Dragon Style. (which will always be on in combat.)
Once I get Rogue levels, I'll always be happy to get a flanking buddy, at least until I get Shatter Defense so I can get free Sneak Attack on anyone that is shaken after my first hit.
Overall, some modicum of pre-buffing and smashing problematic targets.
Veldrin d'Shraen
Veldrin is more or less going to be a small army unto himself. Even at first level.

Sorry about that Wade! I always feel bad for those not selected. That's the worst part of PBP'ing. Well, that and drops!
Vincent, I goofed on your spoiler: the 'scaly man' should be The Cloaked One's appearance. I copy-pasted some of his perception check for yours but forgot to change the description! Sorry for durping so bad on that!

it's understandable,
not everyone can join, although I must say that this game in particular is one that I must say I am more disapointed in not getting in than any other
I mean gestalt and the potential to play as a vamp without being required to or pay levels? yes please,
but shit happens, you move on,
possibly a guard rolls a 20 and I can get my shot that way half joking, half serious
one thing, would it be ok that my character exist in your world even though he is not a PC?
GM Blade of Heaven
Wade, I like when players have more options than 'vanilla race, vanilla class'. It's not hard work allowing 3PP material and I've tweaked so many APs to accommodate templated or monster PCs that it's nothing to accomplish. As for joining upon another character's death, in the event a PC dies they have the option to rejoin as a new character (Set at the appropriate level,) or if the party has access to resurrection magic, brought back to life. If a player drops, I will get a replacement for them, but not just because a PC dies. Yes, your character can be an NPC encountered later.

I understand,
I thought No big deal, I'll join a better group and well...
I hope you all have fun :)

ok, as someone who has played psionics a few times
your psionic focus holds until you either use a feat or power that expends the psionic focus, or sleep
it stays until you do that and you can do whatever you could normally with it
certain abilities don't expend psionic focus but are in effect so long as you have it up
soul knives for example have an ability that makes it so that so long as they maintain psionic focus they use wisdom to hit and to damage instead of strength
Vincent Fleming
I am surprised I haven't thought about it yet but is Know (Dungeoneering) or Profession (Torturer) possibly useful for a roll to gather more info? I know that the Knowledge is more designed for monsters but I don't know if dungeons (jails) actually might be covered under this.
GM Blade of Heaven
Vincent, if I remember correctly, Prehensile Tail cannot accomplish tasks that require fine manipulation, such as picking locks. A scale would be insufficient anyway, I would think. Good you're thinking outside of the box though! I will post once I have felt everyone is established and acquainted RP-wise, then we will proceed!
Vincent Fleming
I know what you mean, the more organic approach would work better for a group that are more trusting...however we are a bunch of evil prisoners that just got lumped into a cell together to wait to die. If I were fixing to plot my breakout attempt with a bunch of new people I just met after being conked on the noggin, I'd like to know their strengths as well before the attempt.
Vincent Fleming
I believe he is referring to the in character conversation that is now at hand now that unpleasantries have been dispensed...which is, while conversing on if anyone might have an idea of how to get out, a character asked what skills everyone could bring to the table.
The Cloaked One
He's referring to the whole " Hello random stranger! I'm a Ninja/Dread. How about you?" thing that's basically mandatory for every adventuring party ever. :-) I do agree with Vincent in this case: as a group of vicious sociopaths, it's good to know how much we can trust each other.
The Cloaked One
Yeah, pretty much. And I initiated the skills discussion with a more self-serving purpose. "I don't need gear so let me out first!"
GM Blade of Heaven
I knew it was probably some obvious thing that I overlooked! But yeah, the whole class description thing comes up in almost every campaign I've ever seen except those where the PCs are already acquainted as the adventure starts.
Also, how does everyone like the 'prophecy' I posted under campaign information? I'll be revising it as we go along, but that's the most basic version of it. :)
The Cloaked One
Gurwen and I think it's incredible. :-)
GM Blade of Heaven
I will be adding more verses to reflect the party's accomplishments. I will likely spoiler it, since it's likely to get fairly long.
Also, I will try to have Google Docs linked up soon for NPC pictures, maps, listings of missions and errata, knowledge check results accumulated, ect.
I'm loving this group already! :D
Veldrin d'Shraen
OOH, Me likely. Its quite well written, and I too look forward to how it grows in time.
Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh
I greatly enjoyed it as well. I'm impressed.
Veldrin d'Shraen
The things I'm best at, that require rolls at least, are mostly social skills, and thus require a guard or two.
