Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

Go for it :) I'm waiting on Champions of Corruption. Oh the evilness it claims to include <3

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

Still here and still hoping for that post :) I know both TSP and RVT have both had their hands full with real-life.

Veldrin d'Shraen |

RVT had her internet box blown away or broken by a storm. She should be back online soon.
Meanwhile, TSP is still dealing with some health issues, but he should hopefully be getting better.

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

Thanks for the update. :) I'm trying to be patient, I just really enjoy this game.

GM Shield of Righteousness |

TSP returns today, since he missed posting yesterday on our local Drow's birthday! Coincidentally, my big return is today as well!
Vritra, I can speak with authority that the ACG is fine!
TSP and I shall be putting a load of awesome material in Google Docs later!
And is everyone ok with my character being based sort of on Mitochondria Eve from Parasite Eve? She's basically the King's daughter who read from an ancient book in the sealed archives, which summoned an Eldritch beast which attacked her and infected her with an alien disease. After she began changing physically and psychologically, the king bade the Grand Inquisitor to exorcise whatever demon was in her. When he failed, the inquisitor persuaded the king to Branderscar prison. Though she was initially devastated that her own father could send her off to die for something no fault of her own, along the journey to the prison, her mind turns strange and alien, ready to take revenge on her father and prepare Talingarde for her brood. As a note, she'll be selecting, as one of her evolutions with the Host archetype for the Fleshwraith, an evolution (From one of the books in Google Docs,) that grants her the ability to implant her brood in foes with successful attacks against them. Her brood are basically strange human/Lovecraftian horror hybrids who rapidly mature, but who are imperfect in their mutations. They will make great additions to the minion pool. As for her role, she's going to be a mix between a blaster with her Warlock class abilities and a savage melee combatant with her Host class abilities. She will be unnerving in her intelligence, alternately cold and primal in her emotions, motherly to her 'daughters' and those whom she views as her allies, and altogether a sensual monster with strong psychopathic tendencies.
Thoughts on that last bit?

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

It's good to see you both back! The moment I go on a work trip you both show back up. (Maybe I should have taken one sooner!) I'll be slow to post while I'm gone, though I should get home closer to the end of the week. Looking forward to continuing!
And I like your concept RVT :) Kinda want to see what happens between her and Deirdre too.
I'm debating adding the Sanctified Slayer Archtype to Jaq. It stacks with Infiltrator, trading out my judgement for Studied Target, Sneak Attack and Talents. Is this worth the trade out to take? Flavor wise, it feels like a good choice for Jaq.

Vritra |

Sadly, I feel like I cannot continue waiting on this campaign. I've got more stuff coming up, and I'm going to have to spend a bit more time preparing for one of my groups.
I will be withdrawing from this campaign. I hope you guys get back soon , and I wish you all the best.

Veldrin d'Shraen |

Sorry to see ya go Vritra, sadly, I'm not sure when Blade will be back. Soon-ish, I hope, but uncertain...

Veldrin d'Shraen |

Blade wants to know who is still here, so sound off and he should be getting a post up this weekend!

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

I'm still here as well!
Though not sure if everyone will check it with moved to inactive.

GM Blade of Heaven |

No, not the Vritra! As the Simian Deity of All Things Evil and Full of Potassium has said, I have returned! Is it inactive? Let me rectify that situation!
Now, Wade, my main issue with you joining is because I want each person to shine regarding their roles. Good (Wicked?) Veldrin has already claimed the role of 'party necromancer', just like Jaq has claimed the 'smooth talker' role, Cloak has assumed the role of 'silent assassin', ect. Having two PCs with the same roles can put them into conflict and that's not what I will have in my campaigns at all. Think of it this way: look at the night sky. Do you know why it looks so good? Because each star is separated from the others, allowed to shine on its own. It's a rather cheesy explanation, but it fits well.

![]() |

To extend your metaphor, many of the stars gain greater beauty by shining together with others in a constellation
But I understand...hmm, the character could be salvaged though... Hmm
Would you allow warlock, updated for pathfinder,
Instead of being a necromancer, this character has made pacts with higher powers (quasi godlike beings Cthulhu or Charon being examples) for more power, an obvious heracy made worse by him sacrificing a monk and a virgin to seal the deal
He greatly fears death for the obvious likelihood of where his soul is going,

GM Blade of Heaven |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Post up, oh ye wicked PCs! :P Just wanted to implement the new rule I came up with of, wait for it, DAGGER LOCKPICKING! We've all seen it on good movies involving thieves, so why not in Pathfinder? I calculate the modifier based on how wide the blade is and whether it is a straight blade or has a curve. Since it's a stiletto, I think it only warrants a -5 penalty, which is still pretty hefty. Besides, a guard would have some explaining to do about a set of lockpicks, right? Not so with a weapon!

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

Work is keeping me busy today. I'll post as Jaq soon.

Vincent Fleming |

Curiosity has attached to me much like the proverbial monkey upon thy back. We seem to be down to Three players that I can see, though I believe Madam Shield has yet to be introduced. So that puts us at four, the other Madam of our group....I want to say I remember she was going to be absent for a bit? So we need two new members?I'm not sure as a player whether to push the story along harder or hold back a bit to give an in for breaking out new characters. I feel I may be worrying about things I shouldn't, but thought I should still express for the moment.

10 gold a year's pay?
Dang
Last time I went from a book that cared about how much a commoner gets paid was in 2e and they stated that 1gp was about a week's profit for the average commoner (10 being the savings of two and a half months)
Either there's a gold scarsity compaired to 2e Toril, or this guy's getting screwed.
Either way this is good for you
(This is not critique I just like sharing trivia)

Veldrin d'Shraen |

Ok, unless I'm mistaken, we started in room 18a, and cleared all the rooms on that floor, then came downstairs, and cleared 11, 10 and 9. We then crossed the great hall entryway and went into room 14, which is also where we are currently. We got stuff from 12 and 13 and have yet to go into 15.
Is this all correct? Also, were there no guards at the main doors?

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

Actually, I've been in room 15. It's Blackerly's Chambers. I found the lock-box there. He also has a bunch of knickknacks in there. It is also where I planned and believed we were setting up the summoning ritual.
I believe the great hall entry, room 3, was where we found Jon and the now dead paladin.

GM Blade of Heaven |

Veldrin, you are correct for the most part. Jaq is correct in that he went into room 15, which is where the lockbox came from that you were planning on using Ray of Frost on. You wanted to explore the storeroom armory first, remember?
Jaq, Jon's body was, indeed, in the Great Hall Entry.
I think the main issue with the confusion is how the rooms were numbered in the book. It seems almost arbitrary.

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

I thought Jon was the name of the guy with the Paladin who joined us... Not the Paladin...

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

Hello Hello :)

Veldrin d'Shraen |

I am rather pleased with Blade's choices. He and I chatted for quite some time about who to pick.
I will admit, Elara was my very first choice, almost as soon as she posted(She the character, not necessarily the player).
However Mek and Rek soon became my 2nd choice, as the concept amuses me to no end, especially as a lover of Warcraft and WoW. The two headed, oft times arguing, ogres are a favorite of mine!!
Also glad Blade liked my brother's concept and answers enough to choose him as well.
This group will be a lot of fun I feel!

Vincent Fleming |

I am quite pleased with all the choices as well. Elara was I believe second in listing, and the kitsune was my first. I so heavily laughed once I saw the dual personality Mek and Rek and the memries it brought up of my warcrafting youth. I look forward to interacting with all of you lovely new people.

Jaq, Servant of Sifkesh |

I'll get Deirdre's intro to the group in the morning (or as soon as possible in the morning) since I need to sleep before work. I didn't want to post to much last night, which is why I left it as it is.

Elara Myre |

Hiya, everyone! I'm still finishing up the last bits of crunch for Elara, and I am caught up on the gameplay thread. Looking forward to committing some terrible crimes against Talingarde and all of humanity with the rest of you.
