Storn of Gorum |

Storn blinks as Molly rushes over to him. An enormous grin splits his face as she begins casting.
"Why Molly, how did you know?!"
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!"
"ALL RIGHT YOU GREEN-SKINNED PANSIES! WHO WANTS TO HEAR THE WORD OF GORUM?"

Mariana looks at the group as best she can and casts a Grease spell that should land to coat the ground beneath all four of them. "Hope this helps..."

As Storn grew to the size of a giant, Mariana cast her spell. The results were better than she had hoped for, with three of the orcs falling, hanging on to each other, dropping weapons, and generally letting out shouts of dismay. Two managed to regain their footing, while the thirds slid helplessly along the floor, completely covered in the slippery mes.

Storn of Gorum |

Can Mega-Storn reach the top of the tower?

Storn of Gorum |

Storn grabs Molly and starts ascending the tower, swatting away helicopters.
While his companions throw ranged weapons Storn knows deep in his heart that ranged weapons are for jerks. He tries to enter the tower.
Can Storn squeeze through the entrance and get in?

Storn of Gorum |

sorry, was briefly, hopelessly confused by the tower setup - I didn't kno if the four orcs were on the top or bottom. Reading back, clearly bottom. I'll just hit them through the doorway.
Super-Storn stomps his way up beside Yelena, swinging down as well, but his massive sword just clatters against the side of the tower.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 8) + 6 = 21
Storn moves to L54 and attacks. Unsure if the orc has cover.

Everyone reshuffled as Sander's little bomb flew into the lead orc's lap. The resulting explosion blasted the orc and seriously hurt those nearby. Yelena, taking advantage of the distraction, rushed forward and swung her hammer, crushing the burning orc and ending his misery. Storn crossed in front of Quill, fouling the archer's aim, and thrust out his greatsword. unfortunately, the big man had trouble adjusting to his new size, and the large blade only managed to take a chunk of stone from the wall.
The orcs, shaken from the explosion, tried to rally, but the grease still hampered them, and the reach of Yelena and Storn negated that of the orcs' spears. One tried to move in, but his feet slid out from under him and he had to grab the wall for support to keep from falling.

Storn of Gorum |

Storn is obviously giddy with the slaughter of orcs and his enormous size. His slams his huge sword down onto the nearest orc.
"BAAAHAHAHAHA! KNEEL BEFORE STORN! Come before me you piggy-eyed bastards, I'll make a chair of your bones and then break it when I sit BECAUSE I'M EIGHT GOODAMN FEET TALL! RAAAAAHHH!!"
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 Damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17

Molly Blackfoot |

Molly runs at a diagonal again, eyes mostly on the remaining Orcs but also watching out for her fellow party-members. Before Storn can get at the Orcs, she reaches a firing position, takes aim -- and squeezes her crossbow's trigger.
Molly moves to L 53 and fires at the Orc on J 57. Ranged attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 for 1d8 ⇒ 5 damage.

DM Bigrin |

1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
The orcs had a hard time dealing with the grease, and it took a toll. Storn and Yelena each dropped one with sword and hammer. The others angled for decent shots, but were unable to land telling blows. The lone remaining orc tried to scramble backwards, but slipped on the grease. He fell on his tailbone hard, and a grunt of pain was elicited.

Storn of Gorum |

Storn roars with laughter as the orc slips and falls.
"I had to take someone's word at this, but you can't spell slaughter without laughter! BAHAHAHAHAHA!"
He lunges forwards, sliding his sword across the ground in an attempt to turn the orc into a kebab.

"Well, that was quick," Quill says as Storn smashes the last orc. "If we only had you here and that size when they attacked, it would have been a different battle. They would have been driven off easily."
Quill steps inside the structure to look for survivors and/or interesting loot.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Perception
If there is nothing inside, Quill will run out, looking for more survivors.

DM Bigrin |

Storn's blow does the job, neatly skewering the remaining orc in the neck. The rhythmic drumming continued above you, louder as it echoed though the tower. The spiral stairs heading upwards lead to a second floor, beyond which you can see shapes moving. Voices calling out in orcish barely rise above the din of the drums!
"The humans come. Protect the skald!"

Molly Blackfoot |

"They have a skald in there, who they're trying to protect!" Molly shouts to the others while slamming a new arrow into her bow and winding the crank. "We have our target! The Orc Skald DIES!"

Storn of Gorum |

"Can you get rid of the grease? We've got some havoc to wreak!"

Sander Thistlewight |

Hey, I can see the map again!
Sander blanches at Storn's words and the slaughter of his companions. He knows it's necessary, but even orcs are living creatures. There has to be a better way.
He follows them into the tower, trepidation growing.
You have to do this to protect Louly.
"Skald? Isn't that just a fancy name for a bard," he asks Molly.
Would we know what a skald can do?

Molly Blackfoot |

"Don't you know the power of a Bard to inspire and strengthen his allies?" Molly asks. "With music that loud, a powerful Skald can strengthen the whole bloody invasion army -- that, and those blighters want him kept safe, which means he's important to them. Ergo: he's got to go!"

![]() |

When others are ready...
"Skald? Let's make him dead," Quill says, angrily imbuing his bow with dancing jags of white lightning. "C'mon! Let's get them!"
Quill moves to D56 (unless he is stopped short by foes), his bow drawn and covering the first part of the stairwell.

Mariana Trellis |

Mariana dismisses her grease spell. "If they have a bard that is helping them all...then we must end him or her...quickly." With that, she follows as quickly as she can.

DM Bigrin |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

As Mariana dismissed her grease spell, Yelena, having learned her lesson about charging ahead without support, assuredly walked with confidence, shoulder to shoulder with her companions rushed up the stairs, blowing right past Quill and Storn. Her oversized dwarven longhammer was a tight fit in the circular stair, occasionally scraping on the walls. She reached the second floor, not seeing any more orcs here, but seeing several standing at the top of the tower, the trapdoor wide open and daring her to attack.
The others came in more cautiously, calling up to the dwarf to see what she sees at the top of the stairs.

Storn of Gorum |

Storn squeezes his way into the front entrance and stomps off after Yelena up the stairs, grateful that they're wide enough to handle his increased size.
"You know for a so-called tower this is pretty small!"
Double omving after Yelena, hopefully one step behind her.

Storn of Gorum |

"Let's not get hasty!" Storn calls over his shoulder. "This is too much fun to cancel!"

Mariana Trellis |

Following behind the group, she shakes her head, worried that smashing is a bad idea, but given Storn's size and Molly driving him onward, she knows her voice will fall on deaf ears.
