Welcome everyone!
This will be a fun scenario; its a fairly straightforward dungeon crawl and is considered on of the classics for Pathfinder Society. I tend to move games along at a decent pace; so I expect we'll finish sometime in early October.
1. Please make sure your PFS # is somewhere in your profile. If you'd prefer not to display it publicly you can PM it to me.
2. Please put the following information in the class/level section of your profile: Class Level (archetype) - HP - AC: /T: /FF: - Perception - F: / R: /W: - CMB - CMD - Speed - Init.
3. Faction Missions are no longer given out, as of Season 5 of the Pathfinder Society; but for role playing purposes I will post them in the Campaign Info tab.
4. My expectation is that everyone will post at least once every 24 hours during the weekdays. I plan to update the game each morning between 6am and 8am US Eastern Time. If you haven't posted by then I reserve the right to act on behalf of your character.
5. I will be using Google Drive (formerly Google Docs) for all maps. Everyone will have the appropriate permissions to move their own tokens; but if you're posting from a tablet or a phone and are unable to do so just describe as best as you can where you want to move and either I or one of the other players will move your token for you.
I think that's about it...time to put the finishing touches on your characters. I'll open up the Gameplay tab sometime today so you can dot the thread and roleplay a bit; but my expectation is that we won't kick down the first door until Monday morning.
Have fun!

Hi, thanks for the selection. I'll update my profile tomorrow, this character just finished another PBF game that dragged on for a bit, so I have to advance her to level 2 and pick another faction (which will probably end up being Osirion).
My other GM also hasn't informed us how much money we earned, so depending on that I may have to do a little bit of shopping, I think I have a chronicle sheet that gives me access to a pearl of power.

One more quick thing...to move things along I'll make all initiative rolls and will assume that everyone takes 10 on Perception when searching a room, which will generally uncover most mysteries. On occasion I may prompt you for proper Perception rolls at which point you may decide you want to draw you weapon; especially if you're the paranoid sort!
We're waiting on one more player to check in...if she's not here after the weekend I'll prod one of the fellows on the waiting list.

Sorry to butt in, but are you still planning to fill the vacant 6th spot?

GM Beman |

Yeah....you were next up so come on in. Your first assignment is to make a DC12 Will save or join Elun in all his primate goodness. (Although the hit to INT will hurt you more than it hurt him.)
Also there's nothing else in the entryway...so everyone should feel free to decide which room to hit next; otherwise we'll just go in numerical order.

Alright, cool.
One little issue, should have put this in the first post: Between the original table being announced here, and the 6th spot opening up, Tromos got into another campaign. Luckily, I have another 1st level character available: Barham "Hamtop" Topperbush, Halfling Oracle. I've had this guy in the works for a few days, and I've only just skimmed the gameplay thread, so he hasn't been at all metagamed.
If you're okay with taking Barham in place of Tromos, that's great and he can hop in immediately. If not, then Tromos' campaign has barely started (three lines of dialogue and an inconsequential Perception check) so I can check with the DM of that and see if he's okay with a reverse swap.

Great, thanks. I've got to run at the moment, but I'll definitely get a post up later tonight and keep up from now on.

I'd like to suggest putting all the enemies in a single initiative group (even if it's on the higher modifier, it makes almost no difference). That way we may run combat a little faster...

A Cleric, and oracle, a druid, a wizard, a rogue and a Magus. Well, if we can't solve this based on magic knowledge no one will....

I guess society rules are slowly taking away the non skill related classes... I played my fighter in the Temple of Empireal Enlightment and I could do NOTHING.

I created a fighter recently and started him in a module...he's intended to be "the muscle", and seems to be doing it well. Then the GM mentions how it takes a skills-based character to really shine. Not sure how I feel about that - there's gotta be a place for a brute in just about any PFS group, right?

Can't say I agree with that GM, one of the most fun PFS characters I'm playing is a Mad Dog Barbarian with 8 int.

Being a GM doesn't make you right. I love my front-rank ranger, my zen archer, my magus, my cleric and my cavalier. None if them are skill- heavy. We all pull our weight in our own way.

...and that's all she wrote. This one is a bit tougher at the higher tier, but as with many of these older scenarios a full party of well built characters can usually make it through virtually unscathed.
Anticipating your success I reported the event last night. Chronicle Sheets are posted for your downloading pleasure.
Thanks for running through this with me...and I hope you all managed to get into a game or two for PbP Game Day!

Thanks, had great fun. And I swear someday soon I'll get off a succesful color spray or sleep spell!
Dayjob check:
Profession (trapper): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Also, Deane, the prestige credit seems to have gone to Shadow Lodge, can you change that to Osirion? It's probably my fault, as I forgot to change Ajyka's faction.

Did we... did we win?
Thanks Beman and party, for making my first completed PFS Scenario an enjoyable one. Full disclosure: First completed unit/module/campaign of any sort in any d20 system.
Appropriately, I don't think Barham actually contributed anything at all to the success of the mission. He:
-Missed 1/1 attacks
-Got paralyzed by the vargouille
-Failed 3/3 Ride checks
-Cast a single spell (Protection from Evil) on an ally, which expired before contributing to any rolls
Other than that, a couple Knowledge (Nature) checks, and one CLW on an NPC. Perfectly in character for a Nature Oracle, so I deem this one a wild success.
Probably going to retrain to summoner, though. The Cleric/Oracle list is hella boring at low levels.

You should be all set...double check when you get a chance to make sure it came out OK on your end.
