I picked up a copy of the Pathfinder Society Primer this weekend. It has some useful material that is especially relevant to PFS characters (according to the Additional Resources reference, everything in the book is legal). Among other things, it lists benefits for characters who start a PFS adventure at a specific lodge. Since our adventure started from the lodge in Nerosyan, Mendev, it is relevant to our adventure. Here is the text:
Starrise Spire
Venture-Captain: Jorsal of Lauterbury
Starrise Spire towers above Nerosyan's walls, its pinnacle forever shining with celestial brilliance. As long as the fortress houses even a single defender, the beacon never fades, providing crusaders hope and certainty that someone still stands against the Worldwound. Before welcoming the Pathfinders into the city, crusaders maintained the beacon, but Queen Galfrey has now passed that duty to the Society. The lodge's venture-captain, a hardened warrior-zealot named Jorsal of Lauterbury, is a noted explorer of the Worldwound, with more than 50 excerusions to his name, and is exteremely proud of his position.
Bonus: Preparing your jouney beneath Starrise Spire's beacon imbues you with courage and confidence. You gain a +1 bonus on saving throws against fear effects and the spell-like abilities of demons.
So if we encounter any demons (what are the odds?) this may be good to know, assuming the GM approves.
The information may also help us if/when we make our case on behalf of the captured Pathfinders. The venture captain has 50 excursions into the Worldwound and ought to know a group of reliable Pathfinders when he sees them. The benefit the Pathfinders provide to the cause ought to be worth consideration in judging these three so hastilly.

Mivvy might be interested to know that the above mentioned Pathfinder Society Primer has some benefits which can be purchased by buying a copy of particular Pathfinder Chronicales volumes. One in particular grants a +2 bonus when using the Perform (Comedy) skill to tell dirty jokes. See Volume 14. Cost = 150 gp.

Hey guys, sorry I've been posting light for a bit. Trying to get work done before I leave for GenCon as well as prepare my multitude of scenarios for GenCon as well. I'll reply by tomorrow at the latest.
Thanks for your patience!
GM Dave

no problem, sounds like you have a full plate prepping for Gencon... mostly just concerned about getting credit for this game before the 14th is all.

Brilliant, I love chronicles!

So did anyone else get 'spam' in their inbox on Paizo from some reverend in the UK wanting private email response? My original reaction was 'oh hell no!' Just curious if anyone else got one of these messages?

"There was a young wizard from Absalom..."
"When traveling, he would bring his goat along..."
He never knew
Who chewed up his shoeOr drank all the beer from his bong

You guys talk about some strange things when then GM's around. Well enough of that! I'm back baby, and although my voice is destroyed for another day or two, that doesn't affect my typing... of your DOOM!
Okay, well, the last clue you guys earned for this phase. It's the thought that counts.
Thanks for your patience and let's figure out this potential murder mystery! Jinkies!

GM BPC |

Go ahead :) While you missed the second phase, you still have time to interact with Ekira! Then of course there's the planning of what to do for the evening and then executing the next phase of your investigation!

Having oral surgery tomorrow so might be a bit out of things... we'll see if I can post or not on whatever pain meds they give me, lol... I should be fine by saturday though.

Hey, fellow Paizonauts!
I can't keep up with pbp any more. Life is just too hectic right now.
I've really enjoyed the game; my replacement better be wicked awesome.

GM BPC |

Alas, sorry to see you go!
Message me with your PFS info for Mivvy later so I can send a chronicle sheet to you.

Will miss you MIvvy and Mylvy

I think I'm going to keep the group as is. For the most part, you've taken care of much of the early diplomacy and skill checks with aplomb, and throwing someone in this late would lose the sense of cohesion for the newcomer.
Is everyone OK with this?

Hey guys, I'm going out of town for a business trip for a few days. I may have internet access, but I probably won't do much. I'll post when I can and should return Sept 30th.

a trip for work? bleah... have some fun - use the hotel pool or something... If you can post, great, but if not, we'll see you in about a week! Travel safe!

![]() |

For what it's worth, my schedule will be a lot more regular for the next five weeks. I should be able to post every evening without any gaps. I've been working 7 AM to 11 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with just a bit of a break in the afternoons. It's left me burnt out by the end of the week, hence my delays in posting lately.

Guys, my homebrew's recently lost a player to limited time spans.
If any of you is maybe interested, link

Marduk, I'd love to play with you as GM, but between what I have going now and a PbEM into which I'll soon be injected, it'd probably spread me too thin.
But I wish you all possible good fortune in finding someone!

I'm in the same boat as Wyeth - spread a little too thin between on-line games, face to face and real life commitments.. I'm sure you'll find someone tho.
