"Lost his left leg in the wilderness years back -- never speaks of how it happened, just 'You should have seen the bear.' Found a machinesmith to craft him a fancy articulated artificial leg. Moves pretty well on it too, just not as fast as most people." "Not saying that's odd," he said as he took a sip. "Plenty of folks have accidents or get in fights and lose this or that body part. Living through it, that's going some, though. And I've never seen anyone lose a leg and decide that means going barefoot. But maybe that bear messed up his head along with his leg." He took a moment to laugh at his own joke. "Bear's fault or not, the man's just... off. Who'd wear an animal skeleton on his head as a helm, anyway? Some kind of 'possum, best I can figure... don't want to know bad enough to ask him." The man paused to enjoy a bit more of his ale. "Especially not with that vicious-looking weapon he uses for a cane."
Born and raised in Azir in the Kingdom of Man, Wyeth has a typical Rahadoumi outlook: Respect the gods, but don't worship them; direct your own life lest you become a pawn in their games. Rather than distrusting divine magic as do many of his people, Wyeth sees nothing wrong with using that power... as long as it's done on the wielder's terms, not bowing and scraping and begging boons from a patron deity. On a trading run to Manaket, Wyeth had the good(?) fortune to run into Venture-Captain Obo. Impressed by the man's tales, he decided becoming a Pathfinder would be a worthwhile ambition. But he wasn't interested in doing so through the local Swordmeet Lodge; too close to home, too familiar, and too restrictive -- he wouldn't be able to use his burgeoning powers.
