Moving into the room will involve swimming, although Thunderstealer can direct you to several above ground alcoves you can head towards if you do head decide to head in.

![]() |

Unsure of what might await in the room but hearing the Undine's voice Artemus calls out in frustrated resignation Another sister? Must all Undine be so bloodthirsty and unreasonable? Without a target he casts Touch of the Sea onto his owl why flies to Thunderstealer and delivers the spell.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

"So you have met Dayana? Always an emotional one, letting her feelings get in the way of research. You'll find that I am more mentally prepared to take on the likes of you!"
Artemus's owl delivers a blessing to the druid who feels more nimble in the water. Just afterwords, the shark-tailed construct moves up topside Is visible as its torso is sticking out of the water and tries to stab at Thunderstealer!
Construct ranseur @ Thunderstealer: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 10 - 2 = 9
Damage on hit: 2d4 + 7 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 7 + 6 = 19
However, the splash of water from emerging seems to mess with its ocular sensors and the powerful pierce misses the druid!
That's almost half a Thunderstealer there! But luck seems to be on the party side!
@Faeros: Not sure if you wanted to target the construct; you mentioned crab or undine woman, so not sure if you wanted to end your delay. Let me know if you're using it right now, otherwise you're waiting some more.

@Thunderstealer: Interesting idea :) Belcher will eat an AoO for the leap over; is that ok?

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Ahhh I see, I was just seeing that Acrobatics to jump and not to avoid an AoO. Since I see you used the base modifier, then cool! And with that speed, Belcher will get into place safely :)
The construct can only watch as Belcher acrobatically leaps over the automaton and claws it, causing minor damage Darn DR However, Thunderstealer then brings the pain with a hefty swing!
10 damage so far :) Let's see if Nilfyr can add onto that!

Nilfyr lays a hand on himself to grant himself greater prowess in battle, then moves forward, brandishing his fauchard.

Slipped my mind Nilfyr had an adamantine reach weapon. I would like to 5 foot step forward. The soft cover and the flank should cancel eachother out!

![]() |

The arcanist's familiar flaps above the water to Artemus shoulder as he advances to better see into the room. Seeing another crab creature, he casts a Glitterdust on it to catch it and anything behind it in the glittering cloud.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

EDIT: And what I was going to say is a moot point about Thunderstealer eating the AoO for Nilfyr as it biffed the attack, again.
PA ranseur @ someone: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 - 2 = 12
Damage on hit: 2d4 + 7 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 + 6 = 20
You can check the spoiler... it's a moot point since whoever made this thing did not program it for accuracy. So we'll just leave the map as is and be ok with that.
Thunderstealer jumps into the water, giving room for Nilfyr to slam his bladed polearm down and severely hack the construct. It still floats and electricity sparks from its body violently!
"Perhaps this will catch you up to speed!", the undine woman casts a spell and begins to move more rapidly along with the crab-thing and the construct!
The crab thing swims underneath and charges at Thunderstealer from below, attacking rapidly! You may make an AoO @ the Crab

Pounce :)
The large man is bitten and nipped several times, causing painful wounds!
Faeros, now (barely) seeing the crab, studies it, preparing to bring down justice to it.
@Artemus: I'm assuming that will be your future action, posting while now you can. Also, are you casting Glitterdust so your familiar will need a save, too? I had to move the blast radius up 1 square to a point whose center Artemus could see. Luckily the others will be outside of glitter radius, but just noting it to you. Lastly, the crab moved before you so it's now out of the glitter radius, but you can still affect the caster, which I'm assuming you will do. I'll allow you to alter your action if you like, but otherwise acting if you're going to glitter the undine woman.
Senethar Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

While everyone adjacent to the construct manages to resist the aura, Nilfyr's polearm happens to conduct a spark that gives him a fair shock!

@Thunderstealer: It was 50/50 on the AoO, depending on which squares the crab-thing went through. Since it is intelligent, I deemed it appropriate that it would take the path that would not provoke an AoO from the small yet savage dino.
Thunderstealer's polearm pierces the crab's shell as it approached the druid. However, Belcher does not take kindly to his master being attacked and cuts into the crab; only the talon strike that cuts its head-like structure manages to cause any damage, the rest being deflected off of its thick hide.

@Nilfyr: As with Thunderstealer, moving into the room is more than a 5' step in action due to the fact you're going from a hallway you're walking on into flooded, but not filled room (so essentially you're jumping into a pool). Luckily, nothing is in range/threatening, so no AoO against you!
While the spiritual weapon seems to be useless against the construct, another swing of Nilfyr's fauchard cuts through the construct's generator, causing it to sink motionlessly to the ground!

Leaving the spot in front of him open for the archer Artemus decides to get the caster out of her alcove. He casts Create Pit into the area, making the entire 10' square a pit 20' deep. DC 18 Reflex of fall 20' for 2d6 damage
Both Nilfyr and Thunderstealer have swim speeds so things like 5' steps, withdrawals, etc are possible.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

@Artemus: Yes, that would be the case, but there is a bit of a drop going from a flooded hallway into what is effectively a pool. Even with a Swim speed, there's that bit of an open air drop (albeit with water surging behind you, too), that makes it just a bit different in the elevation/environment change to me. Now inside the flooded room, they can 5' step as necessary within, including up and down if need be :)
Woman Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Falling damage in failed: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Just as the woman is able to see, Artemus summons a pit beneath her, sending her his space within the alcove. Technically, you did not get her out of the alcove... :P

![]() |

We are on the same page. I am not saying you can 5' step down into the pool, only that someone with a reach weapon can 5' step and attack and adjacent enemy or someone gravely wounded could 5' step and heal himself or withdraw. Oh and I will maintain she is now below the alcove. :P

Faeros fires twice at the crab around the corner, hoping to save Niflyr!
Does faeros know what it is well enough to use Bane? Faeros has +9 to both nature and arcana against this creature thanks to studied target and monster lore. Either way he banes if able.
(Study, Divine Favor, Point Blank, Coordinated Shot, Cover, deadly aim, bane?)

arrow: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 291d8 + 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (4) + (6, 1) + 12 = 23
subtract 2 from both attacks, 6 from first damage, and 9 from second damage if I cannot bane

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

I'll say yes; this is the 3rd time you 'fought' one of these things and Artemus identified the undine siblings as summoners, so it's reasonable that you would assume its an eidolon and thus an outsider
A single arrow is all Faeros needs to finish off the eidolon, which disappears after being pierced!
Thunderstealer calls for Belcher to go after the woman and he does so, leaping into the pit the pit is 20, and the controlled jump only negates 10', so Belcher will take 1d6 falling damage AND be prone, and tumbling to his side. However, the dinosaur still rakes the woman with one of his large claws!

Actually, only d6 non-lethal and not prone :-)
Creatures that fall take 1d6 points of damage per 10 feet fallen, to a maximum of 20d6. Creatures that take lethal damage from a fall land in a prone position.
If a character deliberately jumps instead of merely slipping or falling, the damage is the same but the first 1d6 is nonlethal damage.

Did not know that! Something learned!
@Artemus: Give me a Diplomacy check, +4 bonus.

Nice clutch roll Artemus
Seeing herself in a dire situation and not suicidal, Senethar finally relents. "I give, you shriveled kelp waste!", the undine summoner surrendering along with an insult, not pleased at the situation at all.
Eventually, she is brought to the alcove, with the party surrounding her and Belcher still at her face. "I suppose you're going to take Jasila and I away, too, as slaves perhaps?"

![]() |

Artemus turns to the others noting with a smirk I for one do not have a need for a watery tart as a slave. Any of you? Addressing the woman he says more seriously We really only wanted to explore this place and learn about its gates and possibly a way to continue down to the level below this one. If you would be willing to grant us safe passage though this place when we need it and to tell us what you know of it, I for one would be willing to let you and your sister go. I do fear your gear is forfeit though. Spoils of battle and all that. But also I will be willing to put in a good word for your brother who, last we knew, was visiting with some of the nice hellknights who claim this area as part of Cheliax. I am certain at some point they will tire of him and we should be able to convince them that it would be best to release him to his more responsible and reasonable sisters. What do you say?

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

With that much dialog and text... won't even force a Diplomacy roll for that.
"We just wanted to do our research here; the planar portals you must have encountered are a curiosity for my group. Although as of late, the lord of these floors, Klarkosh, have acquiesced to our studies as long as we keep others, including the Hellknights, away from his domain." As Artemus continues, she nods. "If leave and my sister and I here, return our brother as soon as possible, and leave our research notes, I will give you everything I know about Klarkosh. The rest of our equipment, as you noted, is yours."

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

With that, you guys have basically finished the level! I'll put in the RP response soon!

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Her gear stripped, Selenthar quietly stews. "Over there, you can find the entrance to the floor below. Klarkosh has spent much time preparing defenses, including modifying the defenders. I have not been down there, but occasionally he mumbled about finding special metals."
I'm going to handwave travel between this floor now. It's not worth going through the trouble of making Fort/Constitution checks and what not.
Unless you have anything else, you have completed the floor!
