Noro Kasuri |
Spectrum easily opens the door, finding himself in a familiar corridor. The door to the left leads to where the noises and Lonjiku lies.
Everyone who's not breaking a window, give a rough description of where you'd like to be placed and say what you're doing, though I'm guessing Spectrum will be bursting through that door. It is unlocked.[/ooc]
Noro follows Spectrum backing him up in case of any danger .
Spectrum |
Spectrum hardly slows as he hits the second door. He comes in fast, sword in hand, his form beginning to flicker again as he ran.

SURPRISE ROUND
You're all up.
Spectrum bursts open the door to reveal a curious hell. Bright furnaces line the southern wall glowing with hellfire as goblins dance and dart and shove each other midst its flickering light. The bright glass-encrusted statue of Lonjiku catches the sunlight to the north, and bodies of fallen workers carelessly litter the floor as the goblins play with their new toys, picking up iron tongs glowing with the heat of the ovens and carelessly throwing glass in the air to watch it smash. Distracted, they miss you all.
Spectrum |
Spectrum quickly assesses the situation.
Allies will quickly overcome the closest three. The next group will likely fight. The last in the back, after seeing what is about to happen, may run. No time to spare tracking a goblin through this place.
Neutralize furthest enemy first.
An unerring bolt of arcing light pulsed from his hand and slammed into the goblin at the back of the long hall.

Rest
The goblins grin wildly at the prospect of even more fun and spring into action.
One charges directly at Noro, cackling as it raises its worn Dogslicer.

Unconfirmed, 4 damage.
Another pulls out a heavy set of tongs from the furnace, still glowing orange with heat, and jumps up on the table and thrusts them at Wyam, spittle flying as it laughs.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9 1d4 ⇒ 2 Touch attack, fire damage.
Miss.
Grinning, the goblin near Noro slashes at Wyam's knees.

Confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

A goblin with blue and red patterns over its ears charges at Chaise with a dogslicer.

Confirmed, 7 damage
Two more sprint forwards and leap up towards Wyam, but are too tired from their burst of speed to attack.
The goblin at the back, already teetering from Wyam's spell, frowns and angrily hurtles glass beakers and cups at Spectrum.

Rest
The two goblins next to Noro, furious at her treatment of their fellow, leap at her legs and body.
They attempt Trip attacks, triggering AOOs from Noro and Wyam.
Noro AOO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Wyam AOO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Noro hits, downing one of the goblins, but the other successful aims a sweep at her legs.
Trip: 1d20 ⇒ 1
But only ends up tripping over its own legs, falling prone on the floor in front of you. Wincing, he looks up at you and tries to hide behind his eyes.
COMBAT OVER
Well, effectively over. The two goblins in front of Chaise are out of action for a few more round, so unless you ignore them until they wake up you have no problem. Three more goblins are bleeding out. And there is one in front of Noro who is prone and whimpering.
GM Arkwright |
Spectrum opens the door and finds himself in the
Loading Room: A wheelbarrow sits against a wall here, and
shelves on the walls contain additional reagents to create
different colors of glass (manganese for clear glass, cobalt
for blue, and tin for white glass; untreated glass is green,
while too much of any reagent makes black glass). A safe
on the floor.
Wyam Marshaal |
"Dammit, we haven't got time to tie these damn things up!" Wyam growls as Spectrum goes dashing off.
"Chaise, Noro - help knock these things out for a few hours and let's get after Spectrum," he 'asked'.
The idea is do Coup de Grace attacks with non-lethal damage to the goblins so they can be questioned later, without taking the minutes necessary to find rope and tie them up and lose track of Spectrum. As full-round actions, we can get the two unconscious ones automatically in 6 seconds. GM Arkwright, how would you rule the awake/whimpering one for this purpose? A regular attack for non-lethal?
Chaise Zikaldiru |
To clarify: there is a safe on the floor?
Chaise kicks the goblins where the sun don't shine, hissing as it brings some pain from his wounds, then rushes after the others, sparing a moment to look at Lonjiku.
In the loading room, he helps them search, trying the doors.
Spectrum |
Spectrum isn't waiting around. His mind races, trying to remember the layout of the glassworks. The pulls open both of the interior doors in front of him and looks through them.
Array |
Array dropped a twenty pound rock from about a hundred feet up. It smashed through the skylight with an impressive crash.
He swooped down and into the building, quickly looking, scanning, searching for any sign of Amiko.
Pseudodragons have Darkvision, Lowlight vision, and Blindsense
Miss Amiko! Am I reaching you! his mental shout sought her mind.
GM Arkwright |
Hmm...
Swooping over and through the factory, Array eventually hears the usually restrained voice of Ameiko: Tell your pointy-eared master to get me the HELLS OUT OF THIS CLOSET!
After some more questioning, Ameiko reveals that she is locked in a storage room in the basement, restrained, wounded but stable, and very pissed at her brother.
There's nothing else in the glassworks except a great deal of fluff description, just so you know.
Chaise Zikaldiru |
Chaise catches up after some more poking around. He sees Ameiko wounded and tries to tend to her wounds. "What happened?"
Chaise's brow furrows, feeling like he had just experienced some strange form of (ret)conjuration.
Chaise Zikaldiru |
Whoops! Misread it. Thought we already went there to talk to her instead of being relayed it through Array. Chaise will poke around a bit but will follow Spectrum (who, if following his recent actions) will undoubtedly charge straight in there.
Spectrum |
Spectrum's mind raced, full of memories of the layout and directions haphazardly given by Array.
"She's in the basement!" he said to the others. "Array found her! This way!"
Spectrum is running flat out to get to the basement. He's planning on going in guns blazing.
Ask her if she can hear anyone or anything outside where she is confined.
