Thorn the Savvy

I think Thorn can see Wyatt, and with him out he'll retreat into the mist...

Or Beorin can channel? At least it'll help. The monster's bonus to hit is equal to my AC lol!

Sheltered by the silent mist, you are able to insert the remaining disk safely. As you do so, D'lack rounds the corner into the room, and the mist and silence dissipate. So you can see what's happening...
All four disks fuse into the wall, and a pulse of intense magical energy radiates through the building. The wave knocks the fiend back into the central chamber, still tussling with the cold iron golem.
The doors to that chamber begin to reform and seal, but you are able to glimpse the final moments of the fight. The snake-fiend wraps around the golem, and with a sickening crack, snaps the construct's back. It goes limp as the door completely reseals, leaving the fiend imprisoned once more.
The ivory sphere dims, and the archaeologists wake from their state of mental control.
We're pretty much done here, unless there's anything else you'd like to explore and learn about.

Hurray!
Any way to seal that crack in the wall, so it can't just mind control the next unfortunates that wander in and look through?
I know Beorin has all sorts of construction type spells and abilities.... and Dunkel some stoneworking skills. =)
"Can we go now?" Doubtful mutters.
Thorn the Savvy

Thorn gives everyone, especially Wyatt, a solid slap on the back. He takes a few notes to study later.
He does want to talk to the workers now that they're normal. (and go to the original Azlant site.)

Beorin before leaving attempts to seal up the crack and leave warnign signs of the creature within. Once they have lef tthe chambers, he breathes out a sigh of relief before interviewing the workers of what they remembered before they were mind controlled.
D'lack Firestar

From is unique viewpoint, D'lack saw the gargantuan serpent behing suck-up back inside the room.
I think they've done it ! and after seeing the Monolith being torn appart by the serpent he quickly back away from the crack to join back his comrades.
Well done ! Great job ! He says.
Let's find Juliet and her crew ! May be they have found some knowledge ?
D'lack happily moves towards the archeologists and says What a fantastic time ! We've seen again how work the Monolith and what was inside this prison ! Isn't that great ?!
Another topic for your Chronicle Juliet, right !
Let's go back to Azlant Ridge, Happ is worried sick ! There is so much to be done there ! And even here ! We found so much evidence of Azlant and Cyclops working together.
Dunkel Diggerson
|
Dunkel sucks in the stale wind of the tomb, but seems content to un-dig as needed, sealing any stonework and preventing any unwary adventurers from diggin' somewhere they shouldn't put their noses.
He begins scrawling in charcoal warnings all along the walls, hoping to provide sufficient insight for any diggin' races that might happen along - common, undercommon, dwarven, gnome and terran.
Once outside, he clasps Doubtful on the back.
"Ah, ah should'na 'ave doubted ye this time, tha' was ah right nasty beastie - did ye see 'ow it snapped th' golem like a dry twig n' tossed 't aside? Not ah sight ah'll be easily forgettin'."

The crack does seal itself at the same time as the door. While it's possible that the creature will try to escape again, judging by how long this attempt took to execute, the situation should be safe for at least a few thousand years.
Juliet and her team can't believe they abandoned Happ and the others at Azlant Ridge. They quickly begin breaking camp to return to the site with you. Despite the dig not going as planned, the team did still make a number of noteworthy discoveries, and Juliet promises to share her research with you when you return to Azlant Ridge.

GM: Do any of the folks we've run into qualify in the 'Aristocrat, Noble, Ambassador, or similar figure' category for the faction journal card?
I gave Doubtful 2 ranks in Knowledge (nobility)! So can attempt the roll at least =)
Of course, the DC is 20 on the first...
Knowledge (nobility) vs DC 20: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 2 = 21
edit: oooo! A success just means there was no one that will work on =)
D'lack Firestar

On their way back, D'lack tries to convince Juliet to join the Scarab Sage.
Diplomacy DC19: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Forgot to try it for my Faction Card :)

trashes the flail. Wouldn't have worked out anyway. Don't have profiency with it. Anybody else wants to recruit it? Would it disappear from our Chronicle Sheets?
