The Book of Erotic Fantasy aside, how 'adult' do you like your campaign world?

I don't think I like where this thread is going.

And why is it that every time my PC confesses her perversions on the boards Mothman shows up minutes later with his gigolo Bariaur, or however the heck you spell it?

I was gonna try to pick up Nualia, but I think she got dead.
I hope her dog doesn't kill me.

My name is Ocean. I'm a sea elf.

In the original U1, my name was Oceanus, and I was a guy.
But dungeonmaster Heathy thought I was more interesting as a female.

A wet sea elf....

Dungeonmaster Heathy also says he's in love with Caitlin Fairchild from Gen-13.

Stalker.

You and I both know it was a one time thing. He can't let it go.

As a DM, I prefer the fade to black or minimal description methods when it comes to sexual encounters. Romantic interludes I will roleplay or describe to an extent, as long as the player seems to be enjoying it and no one is feeling uncomfortable or bored – although such scenes tend to be fairly rare in our games.

As a PC (in a face to face game) it would be fairly rare for my character to become romantic or sexually interested in another PC – it’s tough when the player of the other character is the heavy guy with the beard sitting next to you, or your buddy’s wife or whatever. I find that in pbp games I’m able to get past that fairly easily, so, if it seems appropriate for the game and situation, my character might try to put the moves on another PC or DMNPC. Still, I’m not comfortable with a great deal of detail as far as sexual encounters in the game go – I don’t think it’s necessary or adds much to the game in the sort of games I play. I’ll try a different sort of ‘role-playing game’ if that’s what I’m after.

Oh man, this one player I had was always intentionally going after the NPCs (he is totally open and willing to roleplay a romantic engagement). Of course, in both cases the NPCs turned out to be evil.

One was a psychotic serial killer preying on the town. That one got as far as the bedroom, when she took off her sheer-silk gown and revealed a slip made out of human flesh and a poisoned dagger strapped between her breasts - turned into a really fun "escape the bedchamber" encounter (murders unintentionally solved).

The second one turned out to be an Aranea who was spying on the party in general - even went adventuring a few times. I don't think the party ever caught up with her again...

In a pbp, I've got no problem with my PCs getting some.

In RL, when I DM, it's more like: "SO you guys spend the night in the whorehouse. DC 20 perception roll. -10. Didn't make it? Too bad. When you wake up your gold is missing."

I think it's the sort of thing that works better with the written than the spoken word. My group has a distinct aversion to even romancing NPCs as most of them can't divorce the Dm from the NPC...you can tell we aren't immersion RPrs cant you.

Or at least thats the situation nowadays.Back in the days of 2E I ran a homebrewed world campaign for a small group the core of which sprang from the Night Below boxed set. During the five years of game time adventuring we had two major romances...The parties mage married the Jenelleth NPC whose dissappearance sparked of the entire campaign and fathered triplets...(all girls who were my worlds equivilant of the chosen of Mystra)

The more interesting relationship however occured mid way through the campaign when the party found themselves unwittingly allied with a group of Demons..one of the two Alu-Demons in the party took an interest in the party's fighter..a half Drow who had been struggling with his dual identity for some time( we ran an epic side story where he managed to bring his parents back together...he had been the product of a romantic liasion not rape)

Anyway over the three years that it took to get the story to a finish this character found himself falling harder and harder...even when she revealed her true nature to him he was still attracted...eventually they found a way to remove her demonic essesnce...(it involved an number of gods and a wonderful bit of roleplaying featuring the girls Succubus mother who I based on Endora from Bewitched)

Sigh happy days...we finished the campaign just as 3E was coming out...at that time I was virulently against the new edition(I came back with 3.5) and we killed the game world by having evil win...I have considered the possibility of returning to that world recently using the Midnight rules from Fantasy Flight

We have a PC currently trying to arrange an advantageous marriage,... (It will help make up for the fact that I think the bridgegroom-to-be is probably a rakshasa. *That* might be a sex scene that actually needs to be on-stage, at least briefly, so we can see whether she freaks out.)

Well, you'll get to find out which of his body-parts is on backwards, at least...that might just freak her out...

I am disappointed that you did not use some sort of cricket reference like "get past the first wicket" or some such.

I think he must have blue bails by now, from waiting so long for his innings.

LOL

Remember "Wraith: The Oblivion," from White Wolf? We got a copy of the glow-in-the-dark cover and gamed as our first introduction to the World of Darkness (later migrating to Vampire and Werewolf).
We decided that the game's subject material was mature from page one. All players agreed that there would be mature topics, especially considering angst and things regretted and hoped for in the characters' mortalities.
The single-best story-telling and role-playing moment in my experience was when the Storyteller worked with a young politician, who was battling some skeltons in her closet. Long story short...she had voluntariliy ended pregnency when younger, but was a stern pro-life politician and religious advocate later in life (death, now in game). I'll never forget the look on her face as she failed a roll, and her Shadow took control, manifesting itself as a pair of tiny baby hands pushing the stomach walls and grabbing a weapon to defend (them)selves against coming attacks. This simple move reminded all of us that we haven't been saints, and to avoid hypocratic moves. This game effect and life check couldn't have been done as easily in a tamer environment
