I figure we'll give everyone the weekend and another day or two to get their profiles in order and then officially start by next Tuesday or so. Please check in here and complete the chart in the Google Drive document. There should be a link displayed next to my avatar ("FF 1-02"). Also, feel free to introduce your PC in the gameplay thread.

Sounds good! If you want to make a new PC you could do always do that. But I get if you don't have the time/inclination.

Okay, character ready to go.
That being said, I have GMed this one twice. I think I can avoid being a backseat GM a lot better in PBP than I can in person, but it's totally up to you if you're comfortable having me at the table!

Woo! I hope everyone is cool with Subtier 1-2. My 4th-level soldier has a GM credit for this, and while I do have a 3rd-level GM baby, building 3rd-level characters is a lot more work. :)

Sure thing! I am converting square brackets to curly brackets so you can see what I did.
Everyone else comes through the door, but a muffled sound from the HVAC vent above the door indicates that one agent took a alternate route. As the cover pops off, a cheerful brown rodent face emerges. {b}"Heya! Sorry about the unusual entry, but I heard a buzzing in the vents, and I hate to bother maintenance with stuff like that; they've got so much to do now, so I figured I'd just go in and fix it myself! I'm Mori Half-Tail, by the way."{/b}
She carefully climbs out, and replaces the cover. The number of leftover screws and bolts she still carries is somewhat concerning, but the climate control system seems to work better than ever, even dispensing faint scents of vanilla and sandalwood. {b}"I made a few other adjustments while I was in there! So what's the job?"{/b}
The particularly petite brown ysoki's last name is of obvious origin. Half her tail is missing, though she has attached some kind of mechanical prosthetic, with visible circuits and lights, completing the normal length of a yoski's tail. It twitches back and forth as she listens. Her freebooter armor has an unbelievable number of pockets, holding all manner of tools.
{dice=Untrained Culture check}1d20+3{/dice}
{ooc}And wasting a natural 20 for a max of 10!{/ooc}
{b}"Good old Akiton, home sweet home! We should probably keep armor on, the atmosphere is a lot thinner there. Even I have to be careful until I re-acclimate. The gravity is much lower there; you can jump so high! It's a bit of a depressing place though, lately; pre-Drift fuels are almost worthless and that used to be their biggest export."{/b}
{b}"So what should we do with Talbot when we find him?"{/b}

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

To roll something like this...
Untrained Culture check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
You'd type something like this...
(dice=Untrained Culture check)xdy + z(/dice)
Replace the () with [], and replace x, y and z with the appropriate numbers.
You can separate multiple rolls with a semicolon, e.g.:
(dice=Attack and damage)1d20+5; 1d6+1(/dice)
Attack and damage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Other useful tags are (ooc)(/ooc) for blue out-of-character text, and of course (b)(/b) and (i)(/i) for bold and italic text, also using brackets [] instead of ().
EDIT: Ninja'd by 36 seconds. :P

Thanks Nick, Jeff, Andrew, and Kate for checking in! I know more folks posted in Freelance Forge saying they're interested, but four is technically enough to get started, so I'm eager to get things rolling as soon as you've set up your characters.

If anyone needs help setting up a character sheet, whether for a unique PC or a pre-gen, I highly recommend the resources in this shared PBP GM Kit folder. It includes pregenerated character stat blocks as well as templates for other characters, and tons of other resources.

Hello all. I have a vesk Technomancer at level 2. I have started his profile and will add it in. I want to confirm that I am in. (no hard feelings if not :)
Recruitment was long and enough people said they were interested that I was left confused.
(Unfortunately, I do not check FF very often. Fortunately I do check my campaign threads).

I want to confirm that I am in...
I think there's room. Let me double check the Freelance Forge forums in a bit and do another count.

Yup, you're one of the people I was already counting as "in." Let's do this!
So far we have two technomancers, a soldier, and a mystic, plus whichever pregen Andrew decides to play.
Please remember to fill out the roster as well.

Good news. :)
This is my first time building an SFS character, I hope the profile is correct. I am not sure about boons. I have a couple, one is for starship two are for allys, most are for personal: I guess I do not have any to slot.

Next gameplay post coming from me tomorrow morning (PST) and then I'm going to aim for a minimum of one post a day. Please let me know if that pace won't work for you.
:)

Sounds good to me! I should add: I can't make long posts during the work day, so you'll usually see posts from me between 7-8 AM or in the evening (Pacific time).

Sorry for the missed day yesterday. It's the last day of school, so my schedule this week is a bit screwy, and I'm still adapting. Summer vacation starts tomorrow, though! SUCH TIME. MUCH POST.

Mike the GM |

Hey folks--new routines are hard, and mine have been repeatedly disrupted this week! I know I've not been meeting my own one/day expectation. I'm still going to aim for that. I think the trick will be to post in the morning before the kid is up, because after that, it's chaos! PURE CHAOS!

Sorry folks, I am still without a functioning computer of any kind. Hope to get that addressed soon, but right now all my efforts are on figuring out ways to get my writing assignments done with the limited computer time that I do have. :-/

Mike the GM |

I am sorry to have abandoned this PBP game. I still have no regular access to a computer. I'm hoping my laptop comes back before GenCon, but... well, then I have to prep for GenCon and GO to GenCon, and catch up on freelancing things, Freelance Forge, and my new job duties will start to kick in. I don't think I'll be able to hop back into any PBP any time soon.
