Raggo grins broadly as the Xvarts' attacks bounce harmlessly off his armor. His eyes flash and he brings his sword down at their heads.

I'm assuming it's still too small to be large.

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (3, 5) + 18 = 26

The ceiling is 6-7 feet high, just enough for most Medium creatures (Though some taller medium-sized creatures must stoop or hunch.); it is certainly too small for a Large creature.

Grinning through his beard, Raggo makes Gorum proud by dropping one of the two Xvarts flanking him in one shot.

So,... Rd 4:

Wulfrun still has one Kobold valiantly fighting.
Aerodus Aluain has one.

There are still three Xvarts with their cute little hand crossbows shooting into melee as well.

They've attacked this round; what do you do?

There's plenty of time for you guys to surrender now that you've killed the Shaman & Assassin.

Now fully prepared for this battle Terra walked forward to get into range of the nearest enemy and flicked her whip at it, again sending the tip licking at her victim's feet in an attempt to entangle and trip them.

CMB trip: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Concentrating on firing his crossbow at the deadly Wulfrun, one of the Xvarts does not pay attention to the beautiful and equally dangerous Terra Minora, falling prone to her whip.

Her aim being perfect, Aliesah Leafborn hits a Xvart in the left eye socket as she may, in another life, scream "Out vile jelly!".

And the arrow, after piercing the Xvart's eye, continues its flight through the brain, becoming lodged in the inside of the Xvart's skull.

And with no way to counter such a cool line from Shakespeare, the Xvart dies.

Wulfrun and Aerodus Aluain, I assume, continue to attack?...

Lol, a most palpable hit

After this long a wait, and especially in such an easy mop-up combat, I'm going to segue the rest of this fight. Taking out the last few wimpy bad guys is easy and I want to try to get the game going again.

Having defeated the Xvarts and their Kobold minions you find yourself free to rescue the kidnap victims and, of course, search the rest of the lair.

Cayosin has comforted the survivors well but they still look as if they are frightened. Lord Gregary enters and climbs down to help comfort the kidnap victims.

There are four tunnel-like passageways leading out of the main cavern. They are all small size, encouraging you to squeeze in the area. One, you check out, leads to a chamber that the Xvart Assassin apparently used. A second leads to a chamber formerly used by the Xvart Shaman. The third leads to a small, twisting labyrinth with several smaller pocket-chambers where the Xvarts bedded down. The final leads through another set of small, twisting passages of which you can not, on a first, brief look, determine where it leads.

It is probable that the chambers are all full of traps.

Apparently the Kobolds and kidnap victims stayed in the main cavern at the bottom of the 15 foot drop from which you all entered.

The chest directly under the drop can also be searched.

With the threat of the Xvart's and their kobold slave dealt with Terra moved over to the prisoners and works on making sure they're alright and tending to their wounds if they aren't. "Is anyone of you hurt badly," she asked, "I'll do what I can to help you."

Sorry, wasnt getting notice of new posts.

Wulfrun drops the Xvart assassin, and looks around to make sure no allies were hurt too badly. "Badly? Nothing but some bruises thanks to this armor." Wulfrun knocks on her plate armored thigh. "A few days rest and I wont even feel the soarness."

"Good to see the missing are still alive. I think I had all but lost hope."

The kidnap victims are suffering from mild exposure, exhaustion and malnutrition/ dehydration. They are afraid and hopeful, yet unsure of themselves and what is expected of them now. A Diplomacy check along with some questions or comments will help me determine a group reaction (then I can better focus on individual NPCs.)

And there are four tunnels to search, mentioned above.

Luc
Baker's Apprentice

.

I just want to go home. I'll be good from now on; I swear.
Luc, despite having been described by Cosette the baker as a mischievous troublemaker who had lofty dreams of being a famous adventurer like Beauregard the Blue or The Scarlet Knight, seems like a scared teenage boy who will never go spy on Jojo the isolated Ogre again.

Sidney
Vineyard tenderer

I was tending the vines for my master, Etienne LaGrave, as usual and I had planned to meet a girl just north of the vines that evening after work. She stood me up but I waited for her.
Then I felt a sting on my back shoulder and saw a small figure spring from the bushes and throw a slavers net over me. It happened very fast and I fell asleep. The sting must have been a poisoned dart.
I just want to get back to Griffondale.

Villagers from Soderfjord

Bella .... A young teen, too terrified to speak

Thomas .... A young scout/ ranger, seems too dumb to know what happened

Yvonne .... A middle-aged lady, wise-eyed, who understands some Goblinoid and overheard some of the Kobold and Xvart conversation. Yvonne is mistrusting of you at first.

Searching the first tunnel, leading to the Xvart Assassin's lair, Wulfrun (stooped low to fit) and Raggo (sometimes catching his broad shoulders on the tunnel walls) finds a well-appointed chamber for the Xvart Assassin with several vials of something as well as a small table with various plants, roots and insects in jars. Additionally there is a large chest with a very nice lock. You find the key easily enough on the dead Xvart but may still be suspicious that the locking mechanism is also trapped.

.
.
.

Searching the second tunnel, leading to the Xvart Shaman's lair, you find two wands, a small Bag of Holding and several loose papers on a desk. The papers are crude maps of the local geography--
mostly of the village of Soderfjord,
but also of Griffondale Barony,
Ewerwell Keep -- Nellus Alakart's (the illusionist/alchemist) current home,
Grenwald Castle,
Jojo's hovel,
and a location further in the Verduran called "Bugbear King Bruugh."
(Rudwilla Grumb's hovel is NOT on the map.)

Terra went and sat next to the teenage girl Bella. She gave the girl a smile and said, "You're alright now Miss Bella, you're safe now. Those creatures won't be hurting you again." She reached out a hand and laid it gently on the girls back and slowly stroked her spine in comfort.
