"No but I have had fish casserole with peacock and buttered turnip?" Aerodus tilts his head to the side, staring at the strange little witch. "Is it good...?"

Wulfrun Taverner |

"Aliesah, you're friends with this person?" Wulfrun asked somewhat rhetorically as she walked back to get her helmet from the ground to carry it cradled in one arm. After a brief moment Wulfrun chooses to busy herself by pulling whats left of the defeated foes out front and taking account of their spoils instead of entertaining the ridiculous question.

Aliesah Leafborn |

Aliesah holds her hand up to quiet the party for a moment.
Stewed with goats milk, of course. But Cutie likes them any which way. You are looking well, Rudwilla. Sorry to come on you unannounced, but we were seeking your advice. And your apprentice was accosted by the dead creatures inside, so we...helped.
Aliesah lowers her hand, and coughs, the effect of the gas still troubling her
we are seeking information on that matter we discussed a few days ago; the blue devils. Some disappearances have happened.

Apparently satisfied with your, er, responses, Rudwilla smiles wide, showing all two of her teeth in a friendly(?) gesture. The fremlin Naswig perches himself on her left shoulder in the manner reminiscent of a Familiar and continues to complain soft-voicedly in her ear, glancing menacingly at Gregary from time to time.
Rudwilla ignores Naswig completely but manages to mumble and groan about each new cold pain in her arthritic joints. With the Fremlin Gremlin on her shoulder, Rudwilla looks like a hunchback.
She is obviously very concerned about Cora's health and when she sees you begin to drag monster corpses out of her home she becomes agitated.
But friendly to you.

Cayosin Ormr I Auga |

Earlier with Aerodus
Hearing Cora tell Terra that Rudwilla was going to pick ingredients by night, Aerodus turns to Cayosin. "How is your nightvision friend? Does the night appear as if the day?" Aerodus gestures around himself. "I am filled with the blessings of the Dawn, thus my eyes do perceive what they will, even at night. I could follow these tracks and we could guard the woman and return her here, lest there are nastier things lurking!"
Cayosin nods, "However it is only in black and white with no color. In some cases, that is better but not in every situation."
Changeling Witch
Cayosin shrugs, "It has been many nights since I wore a nightgown."

Seeing that you have not only protected her home but saved her orphaned apprentice, Cora, Rudwilla warms to you quite well.
She invites you into her inner chamber, her fingers lovingly caressing the cobwebs overflowing the alcoves in the foyer as she, bowleggedly, tromps inside -- the skittering of a thousand-thousand tiny, black creepy-crawlies deep inside the webs react to her touch.
Upon entering her inner chamber Rudwilla, grumbling to herself about today's lousy weather (It was a beautiful day.), the gout in her legs (She doesn't seem to have gout.), and that she hasn't had her breakfast yet (It's supper time.), she earnestly hands out both of her Potions of Lesser Restoration to random members of your party (even if you weren't one of the ones who succumbed to the Dark Slayer poison gas) and tends to you as if your were sick toddlers. She also begins casting spells of healing on everyone (whether you need it or not).
There are two Lesser Restoration potions and she can cast two more (after the one she cast on Cora earlier) -- you can decide who gets the four for this evening. Don't forget Cutie!
.
.
.
After healing everyone as best she can, Rudwilla climbs into her massive, big-bellied cauldron where she casts Create Water, Heat Metal, and Prestidigitation while commanding Naswig and Cora to fetch her a variety of odd sounding ingredients which she puts inside the cauldron with her -- and begins brewing some witchly concoction using herself, apparently, as the main ingredient!
So, what do you want to know about the creatures new to the Verduran just north of here?
I don't know what they are but I do know they are running from something or someone.
And do you know anything about these monsters who invaded my home? She asks as she sprinkles mistletoe and chicken's feet into the pot, then stirs the foul elixir with a horse femur before brushing some of her own dandruff in the mix.

Wulfrun Taverner |

Speaking to no one in particular, "I don't know how much time we've lost stopping here on the way to the ogre's cave, but I imagine we'll be barely make it before nightfall. I recommend we not tarry here too much longer." Wulfrun says slightly strained from either the poison in her lungs or perhaps the sight of Rudwilla making her bath.
"You others can take the potions. I don't think I could stand to stomach drinking those now."

Aliesah Leafborn |

it's not wise to beard an ogre at night. If it is that far, we should wait till morning.
Aliesah refuses healing on herself before cutie. She feeds one of the potions to cutie, assuming not objections. If no one else needs healing, then she'll accept it.
To Rudwilla she says i have never seen creatures like these before. They fought hard, asked no quarter, and used poison gas.

"Darkness already falls dear Wulfrun, we must needs tarry till the morning. There are things that prefer the night, as we have just seen!"
I took 3 Con, who took what?

Wulfrun Taverner |

Wulfrun is missing 3 con
"I do not fear the creatures of the night, and certainly not ogres if they are responsible for the missing, but I will deffer to the majority to decide if they are willing and wanting to continue."

![]() |

"Aye, and I do not fear either, I am after all filled with the Light of Dawn, I need not fear the darkness. But, there are tracks we may miss, during the night, signs that we will not see, till the morning."

Terra Minora |

Terra accepts the potion to heal her own damaged health and nods thanks for it. When the others discuss moving on she says, "I can see just fine in the dark as well but I agree, we should really wait for daylight before going after that thing, far safer that way."

With apparently no questions for Rudwilla she continues to brew her concoction until at last, she remembers that she is not, afterall, one of the ingredients and awkwardly climbs out of the pot.
Naswig hovers around her most of the evening, as does Cora, and you are invited to sleep on the floor of Rudwilla's inner chamber. When she closes the outer door you observe her casting Explosive Runes on the door as well as Alarm and Arcane Lock. She advises you to not sleep in the foyer unless you enjoy being emasculated by spiders while you sleep.
In the morning you can get more healing before you depart to Jojo's.

Restoration Healing1d4 ⇒ 3 And I am cool!
Could we get a complete list of what we gained from this encounter lootwise. It was all spread out so I am not sure what we have. I'll take the Holy Symbol if no one else picks it up.
Aerodus awakens before dawn and slips outside, if the door is unlocked, to greet the morning with a series of stretches and prayers, as he always does, before he returns to suit up for the day ahead.

Cayosin Ormr I Auga |

Earlier
Cayosin looks a the Changeling Witch, "Sorry, I also do not know what these creatures were or are. And by the looks at it, either they used poison in their weapons or that is where the gas was coming from. And thank you for the healing even though I was unscathed in the battle."
"I also have no problem seeing in the dark but I do agree with Aerodus, the day will bring color to our vision and help us track better." Cayosin looks outside, "And I don't see any weather that may make tracking more difficult. At least, close by any way."
Current
Cayosin wakes up and stretches noisily outside to not wake up anyone and away from Aerodus trying not to disturb him too much but it is nothing new to Aerodus since that is a common habit for Cayosin. He then dons one of the Cloaks of Day Resistance and picks up two of the Dark Slayer Swords. He makes sure they are drained of poison and practices outside with them a little to see if the cloak applies its ability to the swords. Of course, he still needs to train a little more in them to be proficient but this is a start.

Gregary Belias Crowley VII |

If nobody else will, Gregary will accept one of Rudwilla's spell-casts. He'll even be a bit derisive of the others - "I understand that all of you are being selfless and all, but...sometimes, you just need to accept help."
Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Rudwilla's spell restores his damaged lungs and he nods his head respectfully at the witch. He thanks her kindly for letting them all sleep in her house, though he does not have a bedroll. He tries to find a comfortable place to lay, but he cannot, so he leans himself up against a corner during the night and nods off into his knees.

That holy symbol, the red creature wore it?! I've not seen its like for many years -- it is a holy symbol of the Demon Lord, Graz'zt!

Wulfrun's eyes narrow a moment before arcing a brow at Rudwilla, Demon Lord Graz'zt? What were you doing the last time you say you saw this symbol? Why else would they come here? I doubt by chance."

Before anyone else can speak, Aerodus raises his hands, "For the love of the Dawn do NOT mention the name again. Please? It gives me the shivers. I have had truly enough of the Demonic to last anyone a life time!"

Rudwilla can give a bit more than basic info only.
I know of Graz'zt from an old ally of mine, Bigby, from another world. He loves popped corn kernels with cherries and cantrips. He came to this world when I lived up north in Whitethrone when he wanted some blahblahblah from the head-witch-in-charge because she was related to Graz'zt by marriage or rape or something from Baba Yaga's line and Iggwilv. Bigby had to fight Iuz, of course, back home in his world and Baba Yaga, and ice cream, and Iggwilv, and Graz'zt, and I hate truffles. It all makes since now. Homophone.
But Graz'zt doesn't have his demon worshippers on this world? That's multiplication math!

Cayosin Ormr I Auga |

Cayosin's shrugs at the demon's name thanks to his over inflated ego caused by his dragon heritage, "What is the big deal of this Graz'zt demon?" Cayosin's eyes focus more on the treasure, "Anyone want any more of the items from our recent battle? I do not want to feel that I am greedy and trying to take everything."

Aerodus picked up the Bag of Holding belonging to the Sin Spawn, and began to put the gear away, as much as the bag would hold. "I'll take it. Isn't heavy at all!" He grinned at Cayosin.

"Oh hey... this bag has loot. And a letter. Poison really messes up your brain huh? Makes us forget to look in likely places!" Aerodus laughed and opened the letter before beginning to read.

The Sin Spawn
Letter in Abyssal
.
.
.
The letter that the Sin Spawn carried was clearly motivation from her superior to complete her mission: finding the traitors and bringing them to the lair these servants of Graz'zt use as a base.
It mentions what has happened to past servants of Graz'zt who fail in their missions and goes into remarkable clarity describing rape, bondage, humiliation and other maniacally chaotic punishments worthy of servants who fail their Patron.
The letter suggests that for success, it would be prudent to track down the witch who lives in the area -- that she is a dangerous foe but can still be beaten with the Dark Slayers given to the Sin Spawn for this mission. The witch, according to the letter, has information on the geographical area and will know where the ruin, The Abraxas Egg can be found in The Verduran -- the location at which the cowardly Xvarts have fled.
There is a bit more to the letter but it is written in some kind of chaotic, actually haphazard code, and can be deciphered with a Linguistics check DC 14 by anyone who can read Abyssal. Those who cannot read Abyssal can make an attempt with the assistance of someone who does read Abyssal, by making a Linguistics check DC 30.
