The bull-demon is shaken by the orc’s fierce display but not enough to keep it from fending off Susan’s wild blow. It snorts sending musky smoke into the air before cleaving into the complicated dwarf with his own sword wreathed in hellfire. ”Muahahaha pathetic!”
Primary (minus shaken): 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 14 - 2 = 30

Susan also needs a DC 21 fort save vs the smoke or she’s sickened. The smoke counts as a poison effect.
Titus and Seelah are up.

Susan Reierg |
No need, I in a hurried manner (shocking due to my performance of late) only looked at the map. A melee attack (+10/+10) would not have hit either.
Shall we consider Susan located next to Titus at L17?
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Alright.
[dice=AoO]1d20+14
[dice=Damage plus Fire Damage]1d8+10+1d6
Dang dude!
I must have misunderstood what you were stating. My placement logic stems from your posting: "Despite the burns, Susan fearlessly charges the bull-like demon with her exotic weapon." Hence my "Shall we consider...". I have no death wish here.Where were you originally considering Susan's placement as I cannot tell from the map.

Seelah moves forward K16 She then calls out in a loud voice, "Sword-Mistress, shine through me to bring evil to judgement!" A flash of light engulfs the demon and Seelah smiles as she attacks.

Damage, if hits, smite per level: 1d8 + 5 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 7 = 14 I was unclear if the demons are considered outsiders. if so that's another plus 2, if hits.

Mrachni's conjured weaponry is persistent but struggles to overcome the demon's tough hide.
This time, Susan’s exotic weapon connects, landing a vicious wound on the bull-demon’s torso. A flicker of fear appears on its bestial features but it roars in defiance before slashing back at the dwarf. ”I’ll consume your flesh mortals!”

In a incomprehensible dwarven rage, Susan strikes down the bull-demon with a mighty blow that takes the horned head clean off his shoulders.
The party hears a battle cry and in the distance spots Sir Ilivan lining up a charge lance-first against a huge frog-like demon. He connects with tremendous force, staggering the beast but the other demons are quickly on him, surrounding him and tearing him from his horse. Within seconds the scene devolves into a chaotic mess of claws, wings, and teeth that hide Sir Ilivan from sight. For the briefest moment his face is visible, bloody but determined. He mouths a single word – Go!
Mrachni Swordfollower |
"Come. We cannot help him, but we can bring these to their homes."
So saying, he hurriedly unties the prisoners and gets them moving back toward the camp.
DM Feral |
Heh. Gotcha.
Without a strong leader to control them, the demonic horde is too distracted by the fallen crusader and fighting with itself to notice or pursue the party and their charges.
Blessedly, there's no additional dangers on the trip back and the party is able to return to the fortress where a grateful Commander Manaria Wardroxan greets them. Medics and clerics are quick to take the haggard and wounded prisoners off the party’s hands but the young commander does a quick head count. ”What of Sir Iliven?” she asks even though she already knows the answer.
Forthepie's PFS Pregen |
"He died a hero's death, fighting a losing battle protecting the wounded from a larger demonic horde. Without him, none of us would be here." Seelah says grimly.
With that Seelah turns and goes to stand on the wall, looking out over the wall and murmuring to herself. Anyone close enough to hear will hear words in prayer to Iomedae, asking her to watch over Iliven.
DM Feral |
Commander Manaria says nothing but her features harden with the look of a young women that’s lost too much too soon. She salutes the party and then quickly turns to head indoors and make sure her wounded are taken care of. After resting the night, the party returns to Nerosyan the next day.
A couple days after the return to Nerosyan, a report detailing the party’s efforts and those of Sir Iliven make their rounds eventually making it into the party’s hands. In it, Commander Manaria writes in great detail the extraordinary lengths they went to in order to rescue her captured men and the great sacrifice made by one of them. Even though it’s a small thing in the grand scheme of the ongoing struggle against the Worldwound, the whole of Nerosyan hails the party as heroes.
Weeks later, when a resupplied Fort Portolmaeus manages to push back the horde and miraculously recovers Iliven’s remains, the late knight is buried with full honors, and Venture-Captain Jorsal presents the party with his weapons and armor. ”You knew him for less than a day but I get the feeling he’d want you to have them.”
Forthepie's PFS Pregen |
"It is too bad he died so soon after realizing his imperfection. Would have made a great leader." She pulls out her longsword and holds it high. "To Iliven!" she yells.
Mrachni Swordfollower |
Mrachni raises his longsword with the others. "May the Swordmistress guide him in his journeys beyond, and us in our efforts to honor his memory."
