I think I fixed it finally, let me know if I still failed :)
As Thorakiz walks into the cave, he notices the pile of rubble, but doesn't pay much attention to it. He walks past, and when he does so, Dire Rats,

Thorakiz Grimblood |
Responding first in surprise and then in anger, Thorakiz draws out the huge sword at his back, and swings it ferociously at the nearest dire rat.

Ebenezer Pyke |
Oh dear Lulu, our big friend seems to be fairing poorly. Lets see if we can offer some help shall we?
Eb shuffles up behind Thorakiz and throws some pungent smelling herbs at him while mumbling something in a gravelly voice.
Healing Hex: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
He watches the wicked rat bites knit shut and fade almost completely. He nods in satisfaction. That's done the trick.[b/] He ducks Thorakiz's elbow as the orc swings wildly an a rat. Of course it would be easier if you weren't moving around so much the old man mutters.
Thackery Binx |
Binx rolls his eyes as Thorakiz misses a rat. Pulling a wand out of his sleeve, he stalks forward and pokes him. "Maybe now you'll stop missing!"
@Thorakiz: you just got a +20 to your next attack roll. Don't roll a 1. :-)

EDIT: There, I didn't roll a 1.
DM Stylz |
I wasn't planning on that encounter going so horribly bad, it was only a CR 1 which I figured would've been okay. Dice rolls were really bad there for awhile.
Marvin, takes to shots at the rat gnawing at Thorakiz. The first one, flies wide missing everything and shattering against the wall. The second one however strikes true, causing the rat to squeak in pain, but it still up. Meanwhile, Ebenezer take out a wand, and taps Thorakiz on the back, telling him that his aim will be better. Thorakiz, feels his hands slip as he draws his hulking bastard sword high up in the air, but makes a slight adjustment when bringing it crashing down splattering the rat #3 into goo.
Jayce, again lobs and acid ball, at the lone rat, hoping to finish it off before it attempts to take more flesh from the Half-Orc.
acid ball: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 2 - 4 = 171d3 ⇒ 2
The ball, strikes true, causing the smell of burning, acrid flesh to fill the area for a moment at the rats slumps to the ground.
COMBAT OVER!
Thackery Binx |
Binx steps up to Thorakiz. "If you permit, I can heal your latest wounds."
Assuming he accepts, I'll cast infernal healing. You've got Fast Healing 1 for the next 10rds, so 10hp cured if we chill out here for a couple minutes. :-)
DM Stylz |
Jayce, receives a message, he reads it and apologizes to the group but he must take leave and wishes you luck with winning the hunt
The four of you, Eb; Thorakiz; Marvin; and Thackery chill out for a minute or so while the injured Half-Orc heals.
Thorakiz, while you stand there, watching the rats bites slowly close over time. You look down the hallway, and see it become a T-Junction after about 30 feet or so. The luminescent fungi vanish about halfway down the hall, so your vision goes to black the white to compensate for lack of light. yellow dot, is where light ends, unless someone produces light another way.
Thackery Binx |
I have an unseen servant out holding a rock with light cast on it. It'll stay near me unless someone requests otherwise. :-)
Thorakiz Grimblood |
Thorakiz shakes his head at the spellcaster. "Stay." He proceeds to move toward the darkness, his senses pricking into the more savage customs of his race. He moves quietly, so as not to attract any attention.
Stealth
1d20 ⇒ 3
Or not.
He inspects the darker parts of the cave without moving too far from the others.
Perception
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Thackery Binx |
"That's right, " Binx answers. "I'm not a native, but it's where I've made my home. I'm from the Pathfinder Lodge there. You?"
Thackery Binx |
"Eh, Half-Orcs have never been much good at sneaking - at least in my experience. Want me to check on him?" As Binx asks this, the scorpion tattoo on his palm peels itself off his skin and thickens. In seconds, it's become a real insect.
Move Action to call my familiar.
Thackery Binx |
"Very well." Binx whispers to the scorpion, and it scuttles off. "Sargava, huh? Never made it out that far. Nice place?"
The scorpion will go exploring and come back when it finds something of note - enemy, possible loot, a closed door, etc. When it has the option, it'll always go left.
It has Perception +4 and Stealth +15, and will Take 10/20 if possible.
Thackery Binx |
Binx wrinkles his nose. "Well, to each his own. Give me the lush grasslands of Geb anyday."
DM Stylz |
Thackery says a few words, and after a few moments a scorpion peels from his palm and springs forth into existence. He commands it to hug the wall, and search out the complex. But most of all stay out of sight, and come back in one piece. It does as instructed.
It skitters it's way down the hall, and when forced to choose which way to go it chooses left down. It goes past a series of alcoves, not noticing anything of importance. It then comes to makeshift "shrine", more like a tombstone, with a purple glowing orb suspended above the placard. It then chooses to go left again.
It travels a few feet and is presented with a choice, the ground is rocky and the floor has a crevasse running through it, caused by time and possibly excavation. It turns arounds, and crawls back up on Binx's palm.
stealth cen: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 vs perception scorpion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Thackery Binx |
"Did you find anything?" Binx asks as his familiar returns. He focuses on the feelings of excitement the scorpion sends him. After a few seconds, he says, "Mister Stinger found somthing past the left fork up ahead. Shall we check it out?"
DM Stylz |
Mr. Stinger relays that there is a series of crevasses in a room down south from their current location. Thorakiz, takes point, as he is the most durable. He heads to the T-Junction. He peers around the corner to the right perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19, and sees a pair of skeletons slumped in the corner, of an otherwise barren room. There are small piles of rock and debris in the room, but little else.
Thorakiz then heads down the hallway, past a series of alternating small alcoves.
Perception please Thorakiz
DM Stylz |
botting Thorakiz, until he returns so we can get the game moving :)
percception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Yhorakiz, travels down the alcove hallway, and he spots something glistening the alcove to his right. He goes the check it out, cautiously, and finds the remains of a humanoid hand, with a ring on the middle finger. It is a gold band, with a princess cut ruby set in it.
appraise checks please :)
Thackery Binx |
Appraise (untrained): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Thackery stares intently at the ring for several seconds.
Casting detect magic
DM Stylz |
Binx reaches out to the weave and invokes arcane energy. He focus on the ring, and after a few moments he realizes the ring isn't magical. Ebenezer looks over the ring, the craftsmanship and the ruby set in the middle. He determines the rings value to be between 275-300 gold pieces.
The group continues to the makeshift tombstone. There is a feint purple orb floating, from a brazier hanging from the ceiling of the cavern. Upon closer inspection, the tombstone reads, Father, may your spirit rest where you lived to visit, amongst the graffiti upon the stone.
To the right, is a cave in. It looks to be passable, although it would be a little bit of an effort. difficukt terrain. To the left, is where Mr. Stinger went and was stopped. There is a crevasse, running through the room. The room is able to be navigated as well, but again, caution would have to be used as not to twist an ankle.
Which way do you dare travel?
DM Stylz |
Marvin goes to check out the rubble from the cave-in to see if it is safe to cross. He peers up into the space, looks for any negative signs. After a few moments, he decides everything is safe in regards to another possible cave-in. The ground is more annoyance and obstacle, rather than a true threat.
Thackery Binx |
"I agree"
