Think of it this way, if your a dhampir, then you are pre-undead and start with negative energy healing, which anti-paladins and evil clerics will be using.
And as for the choices of who get's to play, well thats largely based on what kind of set up the gm likes
We have about 4 different people that could be a front lines damage sponge, 1 true healer ( Though to be fair healing in a evil campaign is almost a moot point before we have negative energy affinity), a GOOD bunch of casters ( I feel the real pick will be between the large amount of arcane casters, as there are so many, and that's a good thing when the gm is looking for variety, as opposed to the corrupted paladins.), and a ranged damage dealer that's not a caster. For the small amount of classes like the tankers it will mostly depending on back-story and dedication to the part, where as casters are gonna be looking at every little detail that makes one person more of a choice than another.
Still to everybody; I wish you luck at getting picked and have my fingers crossed that I will be on that list~

is this still open? I've been trying to get in on way of the wicked campaigns for a long time,
if 3rd party is allowed I'll play a death mage
if not I'll play an oracle (black blood) or alchemist (vivisectionist/reanimator)
Wade Willhelm
wanted for 1d6 ⇒ 6 counts of theft
1d6 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2 counts of accessory to arson
3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1) = 8counts of grave robbing
1d10 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 counts of trespassing
1d6 ⇒ 3 counts of murder
2d2 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 counts of conspiracy to start a riot
1 count of drunken disorderliness
1d10 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
1d10 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
1d10 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
1d10 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
1d10 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Dane Grahn |

Just a heads' up Lord Foul, the system calls for rolls of 1d10+7, not +8, so you'll wanna cut those down a bit. Also, you should only roll four times; You choose one stat to be 18 (your focus) and one to be 8 (your foible) and then roll the 1d10+7 for all the others, and you also roll and assign in order. I.E. The first character I made for this, Sir Boogrub had a Focus DEX and a Foible WIS. Meaning when I rolled the remaining four, the first roll went to STR, second to CON, third to INT, and the final one to CHA. No rerolling for unluckiness in this system. except for if your total stats don't hit equal to or greater than 25 if you were using the point buy system.

GM of Blinding Light |

Yes, submissions are still being considered. Although competition is pretty fierce.
@Ashe: Wow, pretty dark stuff. That really explains things well. Cheers.
@MPCampbell: Given the choice... I tend to favour Nikita Vicci. Wow that looks good.
@ManiaINC: Thanks for the submission update. I do try to keep a track of them but it helps me out to see them on the board
@Veldrin d'Shraen: Sounds like he's a total lunatic. Nice. I have no problem with Veldrin's veneration of Zura provided it doesn't conflict with the Asmodeus portion of the campaign.
@Dane: I have to say, this is the first submission I've seen that goes the 'Iraen power struggle route'. It's really refreshing. The bit of RP in the prison was a neat touch too.
I haven't heard from these two in a while:
@The Silver Prince: Need updates, in particular background. I'm not a fan of 'their background is mysterious', it just weakens their character IMO.
@Whack-a-Rogue: Same as Silver Prince. Also, don't take 'The Bitten' at first level for plot reasons. Trust me on this one.
It is curious how we have so many arcanist as so few bards, rogues and divine casters

I've always wanted in on a way of the wicked game,
I've been denied entry in 5 or 6 previous games
I'm reducing my crimes to theft, trespassing, grave robbing, and drunken disorderliness as no 1st lvl person would be able to keep committing crimes in such a very lawful place.
is Death Mage allowed?

GM of Blinding Light |

@Wade Willhelm: Yeah, WotW is always a popular campaign. Alas, not enough GMs to go around.
After looking at the Death Mage, I think it is acceptable for the campaign.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Incidentally, I'm thinking of using Roll20 for the maps. Basically, people will log on and move their icon during initiative rounds. If this is a problem I could just use a scanned in version using a grid reference... But that is a fair bit more work for me.
(Although to be honest I'm still learning how Roll20 works exactly)

Wade Wilhelm was an upper middle class Aasimar merchant, he made and sold blades and armor along with a few alchemical trinkets, and had many customers, due in part to his celestial heritage
all in all many would have been comfortable with his life
but
Wade Willhelm has never been a person who could stand to be content, always he was looking to improve himself and his work, one day he found an old book detailing ways to use dark necrotic rituals to strengthen the blades, he preformed a few of the preliminary rituals
that's when he started to hear the whisperings...
voices of the deceased telling him things that no one else could hear
things he himself could barely hear
he delved deeper into them preforming rituals, stealing from graves, whatever he could do to further his abilities
at last he began to know true power, the power over life and death, power over shadows.
the spirits imparted upon him magical power
inevitably however the pale road lead him into troubles with the authorities as they caught him in the act, coming back from steeling bones from their resting place
and so here he is
awaiting his death
will he too become one of the whispers for the next fool to find books he should not
or shall he escape and make them rue the day they sought to punish Wade Willhelm!
how's that for a backstory :)

STR: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
DEX: 8 (foilable)
CON: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
INT: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
WIS: 18 (Focus)
CHA: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
I can live with those. Planning an Aasimar Inquisitor (Infiltrator). Is it alright if the reason we are imprisoned is for multiple crimes as long as just one is picked for the trait?
I've seen people use Google Drawings for Maps. Might be worth looking into?

I use Roll20 for my home group sometimes when not everyone can make it in person.
It's an awesome (but not perfect) tool but I'm fairly certain that the players can only access the campaign while the GM is online, making it unsuitable for PBP play. If not however, I'd highly recommend it, as it is quite easy to get the hang of.

I'm a player on the boards and the GM uses Roll20 for moving counters (all rolls are done on the paizo board). Seems to work fine without the GM present. Even so, I might do a test run during the very early part of the campaign to make sure people can indeed use it as intended.
@Lord Foul II: Back story seems fine. I'm not sure what class you're playing but other than that...

Divinitus |

Sorry, GM, I've been at the ER today, although technically it was yesterday since it's past midnight here. Bloody ticks and their Lyme Disease. Anyway, how long is recruitment open? If for one more day at least, I can have a character up and ready. If not, you've got a fine selection of players any GM should be proud of.

GM of Blinding Light |

Ah, I was wondering what had happened to you Silver Prince. I hope you're recovering okay. Welcome back.
Yes, you've still got a bit of time left. I have left a few posts with advice for you so go back and check them out. Your character looks quite good (you have the only bard submission btw) but I do expect a backstory.
I'm ending recruitment on the 17th November, so quite soon. (Note that I'm in Sydney Australia [UTC +10] so it might be very early 17th depending on your timezone)

Wonderful, my mistake then! One of my players told me he couldn't connect once, but that was likely a problem on his end.

Glad to hear it, though I can't take credit for the RP sample. A GM of mine in times past made that a requirement for application to his game. I thought it was a good idea, and have just kept it up. Helps display the character in a way that just the raw data of a background or personality description is pressed to do.

Anton Vitruvian |

Think of it this way, if your a dhampir, then you are pre-undead and start with negative energy healing, which anti-paladins and evil clerics will be using.
You do have a point. I just worry a little on survivability until the becoming. Actually looking at the chain of feats we're required to go through to finally become a vampire, we're looking at losing 4 con before becoming fully undead... If we're going by normal level-up feats, it's 3rd (-2), 5th (-4), 7th (undead), unless there is a freebie or two in there.
@GM: Do I have it about right re the Path of the Vampire feats?
I'll still think on race but build the character as human for now (perhaps with Racial Heritage (Dhampir) and Natural Charmer. With the Silver Tongued human alt racial, he can be a fairly decent face.

GM of Blinding Light |

@Mordesel: Looks all good to me.
@Anton: You've hit the nail on the head. There are indeed dangerous times ahead before the vampire template kicks in. It sort of amuses me to see so many characters totally dump con because it's assumed they'll be undead soon and won't have to worry about it (since they'll be using charisma instead). hehe.

Ashe |

@GM, you said lack luster in your first feedback, so yeah I went dark. I wanted his past to reflect how he may grow as he is still a young man, but he truly has very little in the way of boundries he will cross for his own ambitions. :) Looking forward to selection. Good luck all. I will make Cole and alias if selected.
I will be honest the only reason I went Monk first with crane style was because I dumped Con and want to try and survive to the point of becoming undead :)

Anton Vitruvian |

All right. Finished. Background and whatnot in the profile. Crime is sedition (less risky to his already poor health to get others to do the work, or so he thought). I took Lesser Noble as the other trait. The 100gp is a loss, but the rest of it fits the flavor I was going for. Sticking with human. I don't need lower con than what I got already.

![]() |

I'm also finished
I swapped my forbile from con to dex,
though that only raised the con by 1, that way I could boost it by one at lvl 4
may I take the alternate aasimar racial traits, swapping my 3rd lvl spell like ability for DR 5/evil and fly 20 (poor)
if one of those is not allowed I could swap it for either +2 to con or a 1d4 claw attack
this isn't much but it should help him survive
as for the fly speed, I fully expect my wings to be bound.

Dane Grahn |

Yeah, those of us who dumped CON are in for some rough times. On the plus side though, the second tier of the vampiric feats give you toughness, so it won't get WORSE at that point. Regardless of your starting CON Levels 3-7 are going to be a no man's land to push through, that's for sure.
I always had Dane in mind as a reach-weapon fighter (the Rhomphaia in particular... which I'll call a Falx to update that thing to the Iron-age), the combination of Combat Reflexes, Pushing Assault, and a Reach weapon was my defense strategy in the first place. It's just now that this has gone from "Ha! Never going to give you the chance to hit me nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh!" to "Oh, not the face! Not the face!"
Mainly switched my Foible because when I started thinking about this character changing into an Undead, I realized how stupid it'd be to have CHA be a dump stat, and how much more fun it'd be to play a fighter who could... y'know... actually string together a coherent sentence like a normal person or something. :P

MPCampbell |

It is curious how we have so many arcanist as so few bards, rogues and divine casters
I initially made my character as a cleric but pulled back because:
1) I did not want Asmodeus for this concept and was afraid to pick a god that didn't exist in the other world
2) I wanted to make a fetchling and they take a -2 penalty to wisdom.
3) I made the merfolk version as an Oracle to get access to Black Blood for character reasons. When I ditched worms, I no longer needed Black Blood.
While I can come up with quite a few Bard concepts, I must admit that they never really interest me. I used to love the 3.5 Beguiler, but haven't tried a bard like concept since we went to 3.75.

MPCampbell |

Where are these awesome character sheets coming from MPCambell, did you make them?
I was in advertising and design for twenty years before medical school. I used to teach Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash. While I no longer do that professionally, I still find it easy for other hobbies.

Alright that one will work. I'm gonna try to build a cleric.

Karias Blackheart |

Yeah all the people that dumped con on purpose will feel some pain, though My end goal is to buff up as much ac as possible to deter people from hitting me, and trying to move past me to get at the squishy back liners, in which time I go and cut them from behind in their foolishness. Not the best team plan, but What does my character care if her 'Allies' get a few injuries while she slaughters enemies easy?
Also Ha, I get negative healing way before everybody else then~

Dane Grahn |

I honestly think that our initial frailty is going to be one of the best parts about this game. No one's got armor or weapons to start. Meaning fighter types are going to be floundering if we get into a fight before we can get some equipment, meaning that the mages are going to be expected to do the heavy lifting initially. But since spells are extremely limited at level 1, meaning they'll run out of steam fast if all the weight's on them to perform.
Honestly? I think our best bet is to just book it if we run into resistance. We're really going to be hard pressed to get much accomplished until we all start getting ourselves better equipped for combat. But that weakness is honestly going to be great if you ask me, because it'll make our gradual ascent to power that much more satisfying.

ManiaINC |

If I were running Way of the Wicked, I'd just keep throwing my players against worse and worse threats during the escape right until they were on the verge of certain capture, death, etc. Then three red-robed cultists, all with levels in Inquisitor, would burst in and save the PCs in true deus ex machina style. After that I'd make my players roleplay a conversation with their saviors until one of the PCs finally makes some remark about how the weren't expecting any help. At this point the cultists would all yell in perfect unison: NOBODY EXPECTS THE ASMODEAN INQUISITION!

MPCampbell |

I didn't dump con because nobody will be turned into a vampire for a while. Actually, I don't know that my character has any interest in being a vampire at all. If we need to take feats to become undead, either my DCs will be too low for my spells to stick consistently (I skip Spell Focus) or 9+ HD monsters will resist them (I skill Spell Penetration).
Becoming a vampire could be cool and all, but I'm not planning on it. I think dumping Con when making a character is pretty crazy.

Karias Blackheart |

@Mp Campbell
While they are feats, I think they are feats only for progression features; and that they are auto awarded to those that meet the criteria anyways until the first real set of vampire stuff, then getting into optional stuff later.
I could be completely wrong; Doesn't matter because as soon as I hit level 3 I'm immune to all diseases affects including magical kinds. Doesn't stop me from passing them around like a walking std magnet, but I can't have them affect me, so after lvl 3 vampirsm will do nothing to me besides let me get it to other people that I squirt my blood into their open wounds.

DESCRIPTION
--------------------
Kaishere is tall and thin with a pale grey cast to his skin, large orange-yellow eyes, and two Tahr horns that sprout from his forehead and curve back. He has short dark brown hair and looks simultaneously healthy and frail. His bearing, in conjunction with his physical appearance, makes him overall attractive but otherworldly. His features coming together in a way that simultaneously draw and repel people.
--------------------
PERSONALITY
--------------------
Kaishere is smart...and a smart-aleck. He knows he is both of these and what he lacks in charm he makes up for in brains. He will speak circles around anyone and turn them about til they’re agreeing to do something that they really didn’t want to do. He’s overall agreeable and friendly, but he has a shark smile in wait for those who ask him a favor. He never forgets favors lent to him and will call upon them at the most inconvenient times. In his own humble opinion, he is only mildly terrible.
If someone had told Kaishere that he was going to burn at the stake in three days for Blasphemy of all things, he would have laughed and made some quip about Mitra and his mother (he had a million of them). And yet, here he was-in a cell-contemplating his history and awaiting the moment where he would be led to a stake and burned to the entertainment of the lower class. For the alleged worship of an archdevil that he didn’t even follow.
Like most Tieflings he was born to a human mother but unlike most (he assumed anyway, the contact within his kind was rather rare and Not Wanted on his part), he was allowed to stay with her until she died of a disease of which she sought no treatment. His mother was a devout worshipper of Asmodeus and believed in fostering the evil and ill will in his heart. He was, truthfully, a bit of a mama’s boy. He spent his formative years studying words and magic, embracing his demonic heritage. Unfortunately, while his brains grew, his presence was daunting to most others, and he was quick to learn not everyone was as fond of his heritage as he was.
But he soon learned to use that to advantage. While in the day he would work diligently at bookkeeping in dark dirty holes for nameless businessmen whose deals were less than reputable and needed someone with a good hand and eye to make everything work, at night he did something more. After the sun would set he would haunt graveyards and approach hapless mourners. He would approach them as a unholy emissary, promising the release of the soul of the loved one in exchange for something...tangible. He made good money that way. He never stated who he represented (he was greedy-not stupid), he just promised hope of a good afterlife after an appropriate time had passed.
Graveyards were good money. If there were no mourners, and he was approached discreetly by the right people, he wasn’t above selling dead bodies to enterprising scientists who only want to further life down here for the living (a noble endeavor in his book). And he was often able to use his less-than-human appearance to discourage any who would come between him and his unholy work. He was working slowly but surely to his nest egg goal, with just a few big works to achieve his life’s dream. A small island, secluded and alone, where he could write scathing letters about the education system within Talingarde. Maybe book reviews. That part was still malleable.
But now that was all gone. When Kaishere was captured, they took everything. His books, his clothes, his MONEY-all because he was overheard saying that this wave of petty crime would’ve been dealt with swiftly has Asmodeus still held the city. The criminals would have been too afraid to become an unwilling part of the slave trade if caught to dare steal from shops in broad daylight. Some goody two-shoes busybody put in a word to the good knights and suddenly he was in jail on the crime of blasphemy-more specifically worshipping Asmodeus. Which is a complete and utter lie. Kaishere follows Mephistopheles...not that those ignorant Shiners would know the difference.
So now here he sat-rubbing the branded F on the back of his hand as if he could rub the failure off his skin. He’d knew he’d get back to where he was...he just didn’t know how.
Yet.
