Gadrielle heaves her bulk towards Galonor and the middle door. Shifting behind, she comments for his benefit: "We need to get you armor." The helm shifts towards Uhvat and she continues "and if you are going to stand besides him, we need to get you armor as well. I'm not dragging bodies back to base." Not again at least.

She motions towards the door with her weapon. "In the meantime, let's not let the other undead-spider hybrids get to antsy on us. Gentlemen. On your mark."

The team once more stacks up outside the door to rush in once everyone is ready. Wisps of decayed and sagging spider webs droop from the walls of this room, which appears to be empty except for the long-dead, dismembered corpse of a giant spider and a stout, freestanding wooden closet in the southwestern corner. The ceiling is covered with dusty spider webs bulging down from a grid of wooden beams and plaster fifteen feet above the floor. Faint moans and plaintive sobbing come from the closet.

As they peer into the room Uhvat and Gadrielle see a peculiar contraption hanging from the ceiling and concealed within all the webbing. Weights and ropes seem to be attached to a pressure plate in the middle of the room, creating a net trap!

"HOLD!" Uhvat reaches out to grab Galonor before he could step into the room. He points to the set-upon the ceiling, then directs attention to the pressure trap. Rather unnecessarily, he adds on, "There's a trap."

With a horrifying number of really bad puns and horrible dad jokes, the team tries to figure out what they are dealing with.
I was waiting for that, Black Sun.. really! And you did not disappoint!!

Some of the group discusses the closet, while Chinchi moves over to the trap mechanism and gives it a try. She works the mechanism for a moment, but isn't able to disarm it. Within 4, so you get another try if you wish.

As the rest of the team focuses on the closet with different methods, the crying and sobbing in the closet redouble in intensity and terror.

"But of course, how could I miss the closet." Galonor turns towards and boldly walks towards it. He turns to Zifan as he holds his weapon in front of him on one hand, and the other pressed against the handle of the closet, "You may want to stand back."

He will wait for Chinchi to disarm, if he continues, before opening the closet door!

The team waits as Chinchi grits her teeth and gives the mechanism another go. This time, she hears a satisfactory "Click" as she fouls the trap. Looking up she gives the go ahead to Galonor who promptly opens the cabinet.
As his hand touches the wooden door of the cabinet, the entire thing falls apart! The heavy panels fall outward from the loose pegs holding it all together, revealing a Zombie!

Galonor is on his toes and dodges easily as the creature lunges from the remains of the closet and tries to slam up against him!

Uhvat: Yes, the trap is disabled, and the squares marked on the map are safe to traverse.

Galonor gives a mighty swing but is put off by the sudden and vicious assault!

Uhvat steps in, whipping away with his lash, but also manages to miss in all of the press and mayhem.

Black Sun is the only one able land a blow as the woman inverts gravity and tries to crush the beast.

The zombie recoils at the heavier than expected assault upon his undead person before lashing out once more! It takes a step away from the corner and throws itself at Galonor but just bounces off the brutish half orc!

The team regroups from the sudden assault and rallies, beating the undead zombie so far into the depths of death that nothing short of a godly miracle could raise this creature once more!

As the Pathfinders catch their breaths from the brief but furious fight, Uhvat notices a catch in the wall near the remains of the cupboard and the grease stain that was once a zombie.. it seems that there is a second way out! Peering through the doorway reveals a short corridor with another door at the end.

Back to the previous room to examine the skeleton buried under the rubble or through the secret door?

Uhvat stands for a while to catch his breath. Are these monsters neverending? But he pulls himself up tall, knowing there is still some ways to go.

"Like what Galonor asked earlier, I still do not understand how this zombie came to be crying inside the closet. I have known such walking dead to do that. Unless the sounds were coming from past this secret door."

"Hmm, remember that buried skeletal remains in once fine clothes? Let's have a quick look at it first before we proceed."

"This would be most intriguing." Galonor tells the party as points to and briefly looks inside the door. "But perhaps brother Uhvat is right, we do not want loose ends before investigating down this corridor. But... it has me puzzled." The half-orc scratches his head thinking about the crying noises.

"I like that plan. Let's not leave a stone unturned in our search of this place." Zifan will go and take a look at the skeleton. She detects magic on it.

Leaving the mystery of the crying zombie for later, the team retraces their steps to the collapsed rubble in the previous room. It is difficult to unbury the skeletal remains and takes about an hour of shifting heavy stones and debris aside, but eventually you uncover the smashed and broken skeleton of a human. The skeleton’s priestly robes are now mere moldering scraps, and the blade of a nearby sword has rusted away into uselessness. Laying uunder the skeleton is a large and ornate key, the patina and tarnish showing its age to be very much greater than that of the skeleton that fell atop it. Also near the skeleton is the remains of an old style adventurers pack, a few bulges showing where scavengers were unable to access it. The pack contains four leather waterskins (the water within is stale but safe to drink), four small wooden coffers of salted food (two with fish fillets, two with slabs of roast boar; this preserved food is far too salty to eat without being soaked or scrubbed), and 50 feet of stout rope knotted to a triple-hook steel grapnel.

I have moved your tokens to the cave in area where the skeleton is. You now have two options.. return to the secret door and move south from there, or move south from your current location.

To the secret door, then!

Galonor stows the supplies and drops the key into his belt pouch. Retracing their steps, the intrepid explorers disappear back down the tunnel and confront the next door. Galonor attempts to open it, but the door is securely locked. Looking over the door, he sees that it is very stoutly made and reinforced and would take forever to pound through, but a fit of inspiration overcomes him and he pulls out the key discovered in the cave in. It seems to match the pattern on the lock, and sliding it into the mechanism grants a smooth, quiet click that releases the door.

A few wisps of decayed webbing hang from the walls of this room, but there’s none on the stone ceiling and no sign of spiders in the room. The ceiling is blank save for four 1-foot wide, round steel medallions, one set into each corner. The floor is equally bare except for a pedestal in the center of the floor made of a single five-foot-square block of stone, about two feet high. On the pedestal sits a metal-framed wooden chest, and to the side of the pedestal rests a shallow hole in the floor housing what looks like a brass door handle set into the stone. A stone tile lying loose nearby is clearly designed to fit over the hole, concealing the handle.

Galonor treads toward the chest with his curiousity piqued. Turning his head back to the party, he suggest the obvious, "What do you think lies inside this? Treasure? Weapons? Uhvat, should we open it?"

If no one takes exceptions, he will open it!

"Let me check something, first." Uhvat approaches carefully, then concentrates briefly. His eyes turn white of a shade similar to his flailing ectoplasmic flail, and he stares at the chest as well as the handle.

"Maybe letting Galonor burst in is our precaution? Eh, big guy?"

Chinchi chuckles at his own joke, then grabs Galonor's wrist. "No, really- let us check it first."

Most of the team filters into the room, keeping their eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary. They keep the banter going as they do, trying to decide if the rooms obvious sterility is a trap of some sort. Uhvat scans the room and finds that other than the door he couldnt see from the doorway, there are two other secret exits from the room; one in the south wall and one in the west wall.

Zifan, as she follows the rest of the group in to examine the chest, she notices that there is a discrepancy in the room. The walls don't quite meet the ceiling around the edges of the room, and it seems that the ceiling may be somehow not attached to the walls. As she peers closer around the room, she thinks that both the brass handle and the chest are somehow linked to the trap.

Assuming that Zifan shares this with us...

Uhvat quickly grabs Galonor. "Fellows, while the thought of treasure excites me as much as the next person, let's take some caution here, from a rathre obvious trap. Perhaps the ceiling will collapse or release something to this room." With this he retreats back to the passage. "Are any of you skilled in disabling traps? Or at the very least, any way to trigger the trap from afar?"

Only think Uhvat can contribute is a rope to tie to the handle or chest, and to pull on them from afar.
