Burn the bodies in the woods, thats a great way to start a forest fire I mutter to myself Like I said the creatures around here will leave nothing but the bones, but I am not one to step in the way of a holy man, so do as you please Thaddeus. I leave the site and keep an eye out for movement as they prepare the fire.

I apologize, I didn't imagine we were in the middle of the forest. Starting a fire probably wouldn't be a good idea then.

"No, Scath, I am not too pious to accept your counsel. I will say a few prayers and then leave the corpses for nature to reclaim. "

Thaddeus says to Scath before he heads off. Thaddeus says his prayers and then departs with everyone else.

you reach town in mid-afternoon. Garin is preparing a group of militiamen, packed for what looks like a several day journey, in the northern courtyard. the rest of the town has returned almost to normal (with the exception of a bumper crop of hangovers). what do you guys do?

Female Dwarf Channeler 8 (23/28 hp, 1 armor, d4 damage, 2/15 xp) (Str -1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +2, Wis +1, Cha +0)

"Greetings, Captain" Belym says, approaching the militia group. "Looks like you're preparing for an excursion - mind if I ask where you're going?"

Ron approaches Garin's second-in-command as Belym speaks with the captain. Those ravagers were based out of a camp not far from here. Those that remained behind were attacked by soldiers carrying Braxos' arms. Send a message to the crown and keep a vigilant watch, trouble be brewing.

He passes by Thaddeus while holding Roach's reins, I suspect we'll be joining this sortie one way or another. I'll be back shortly. Stall them if they try to leave.

Ron leads Roach back to his stall, unloads the weapons he gathered from the massacre, and locks the stall. He makes his way to the market and hocks the various trinkets in the loot bag, until only coins remain. Finally he purchases two healing potions, one anti-toxin, and a set of adventuring gear. He rides Roach back to the group, hoping they haven't left yet.

Cost is 130 gold. I know I've spent far more than my fair share of our loot, so this will be the last of it for ol' Ron.

When Ron rejoins the group he hands a healing potion to Thaddeus and one to Scath.

Ron gets detailed directions to the tower from Garin, bids good luck to Garin's group, gives some last minute words of encouragement and advice to the militiamen, and leads Thaddeus, Belym, and Roach out to the forests edge where Scath awaits. They are displacing the local wildlife by setting up a base, I thought I had made that explicit, and are also an invading army. you can decide if that means they deserve to be attacked

The remainder of your journey is uneventful. You arrive at the fortress around dawn. the gate looks like it broke years ago, but the newest residents have reinforced it. dark, hooded shapes move on the battlements, but you haven't been spotted yet. a large figure skulks near the walls, patrolling the outside of the wall. it is covered in spikes, and is hunched over, dragging it's claws.

You remember something, like this. it came up in a combat briefing. its a demon or something, you remember there was some trick to get rid of them, but you can't quite remember (Dear lord did those mages use odd words). Good shot Belym! I think we should try to move out of range from those things on the walls! We may be outnumbered if we stay in this position! I begin looking for a place in the woods causing difficulty for the figures on the wall to see us but large enough for Ron and Thaddeus to attack the beast.
