The night before, you have heard that Willeon wanted a few strong workers to help cut and haul in trees for his lumber mill. This task would let you explore more of the forest, and maybe find a clue about where your kinfolk went. As you are passing through the deserted market (the gates don't even open until dawn), when the vendor of the only stall there (a weapon shop) calls out to you.
After saying my morning prayers, I don my armor and load up my gear, ready to face a new day. Excuse me, bartender, do you know where I would be able to find work around here?, I ask politely.
"well, you could probably find work with Willeon, at the mill, or Helmaer the carpenter, if you don't mind backbreaking labour, or perhaps with the guard, if you are more martially inclined" He nods to your sword."or maybe you could track down that Farmer, lexand. he might pay ya to get them wargs off his property. He and 'is family is in the common house, near the east side.". What do you do?

Wargs? Hm. This sounds like a pressing matter. I think I will pay this Lexand a visit. Thank you kindly.
I exit the bar and take a stroll to the common house, taking in my surroundings as I walk down the street. Perhaps it is the interest in seeing my parents again that drives me forward. If there are wargs on one farm...no. It would be impossible. I'll visit my family afterwards. Duty first, Brother Caldwell always said.

Belym, pleasure's mine. They call me Ron Bucanero, or Ron. Can't say I seen many of yer kind in years, I'm sorry to say. Willeon's a good sort, mind ye, though the work is tough. Same with Helmaer.
An old hand at sizing up a potential opponent, Ron is quick to notice that this is an imposing woman indeed. If ye up for it, ol' Lexand's been complaining about wargs on his farm. Dreadful beasts. I'd like to help him meself, but the guard won't authorize me militia to act.
He looks around the empty market, and at his wares. If ye'd be willing to help poor Lexand, I'd be happy to join you. It'd be madness to go alone.
When Belym comments on the spear, the old man stands even straighter. A keen eye indeed! That be Remorse. Served me well for years. An odd look crosses his face before he focuses back on Belym.
I can open late today, if yer up to see to Lexand's farm. What say ye?

What happened here recently?
There is nothing in the area, so one of the foxes must have taken the arm here. the arm wasn't chewed off either, the cut is too clean. More than likely it was severed by a blade (recently too, the blood coming from the wound hasn't congealed yet). Someone was attacked earlier this night
What should I be on the lookout for?
The foxes are harmless, as you approach them, they scatter off, yipping. the arm is clearly human. More importantly, on its third finger, you find a ring bearing the signet of Braxos. it's either a soldier, or a noble.
What here is useful or valuable to me?
The ring is likely valuable, and Norwhich would likely appreciate this news. Also, in your search you find some useful medicinal herbs.

Your strides make quick work of the distance, and you arrive at the town a minute or two after the Ravagers*. The eastern gate has been knocked off it's hinges, and a group is already no doubt inside. another group, 4 ravagers and an enormous freak wielding a hammer bigger than you, clash with the remnants of the gates guard
*Ravagers are people who have been driven violently insane by enchantments. they are wild, and have no real society as far as anyone can tell, just clans in the woods who like to waylay travelers, and occasionally murder farmsteads. they are basically Reavers from Firefly

Yeah, there are 3 distinct groups. You are all within shouting distance of each other, but the houses and walls obstruct your views, and you can't see each other. sorry for the confusion

I have to save these people. I won't let them get butchered if I can help it. Mersiel give me strength.
Good news: They are no longer battering down those people's door.
Bad news: They are charging you, swords drawn and screaming.
Other good news: You take +1 forward against them.
What do you do?I adopt a guarded stance with my shield up and sword at the ready, so I can strike as they come within distance. I didn't think you'd surrender. Dying like dogs it is.
I'm not sure what roll would be best here, if any. I'll wait.

you two arrive at the eastern gate, and find the nearest buildings aflame. the gates guard appears to be overrun, and a group of 7 ravager, 6 normal, and a giant, are rampaging through the streets, chasing down civilians who are trying to flee. The militia will take a few minutes to get armed, armoured, and organized, and in that time, they may level this part of the town. What do you do?
Benders? Is there a word for people who can do what I can? That's good to know. As they round the corner, Belym glances at the flames and says, "A couple of those water benders would be handy right now, looks like."
I'm really hoping here that Ron's going to be heading at least to Near range as well...
As they begin to close with the horde of ravagers, Belym traces a rather larger set of circles in the air; a stone rather larger than her head manifests, and with a forward thrust, she sends it flying at the towering one, hoping to knock it off its feet (and maybe into its compatriots).
Channel: Giant's Boulder: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 5) + 2 = 11
Giant's Boulder damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
So, that's an attack from Near range, with the Forceful tag.

umm, I don't think you are standing in defense of something, and the danger is The Ravager Blades, so that sounds like hack and slash to me. Roll it up!

The boulder strikes true, bloodying the beast and sending it toppling to the ground. Its comrades scurry out of the way, no such luck on a secondary strike. the brute is not dead, however, and is already getting up, as its comrades charge your position, What do you do? Give Ron a turn before your next, okay.

Also, some environmental notes I realized I have been picturing, but left out. Thaddeus, you are in a wide street in a residential area, most of the civilians are cowering in their homes (can't blame them), but a few are hastily donning armour, and grabbing spears. Belym & Ron, you guys are on a hill overlooking a square (which is where the ravagers are). and you too can see evidence of the militia organizing.Scath & Rigwald, The gate is near the forests, but there is a decent clearing around the city walls. Rigwald,I am picturing you about 7-8 meters away from the gate, roaring your challenge to the enemy, and Scath, I am picturing you just inside the treeline, about 40 meters away from the gate.
Just to help give you guys an idea of the area.

He paces Belym, but it is clear that the two of them will not be able to eliminate seven foes alone. There is no choice but to stand firm until help arrives.
Change Tactics to Defensive: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5) + 1 = 8
Put self in a spot.
When Belym stops to fire, Belym takes up a defensive position next to her awaiting the charge. He yells to the civilians, Flee to the market square. Militiamen to me!

Generally, you should roll your damage dice as well, if you hit. if you hit preview, you can see the result, and add anything (questionf for discern realities, damage for H&S, you choice for a 7-9 on volley). I will roll it for you this time (not trying to be patronizing, just helpful[I hope]) also, you took +1 forward against them, not that it changes the result. I know this kinda seems like I'm comming down hard on you, but I'm not(at least, not intentionally, I have no doubt ill make the same mistakes a lot, and please tell me when I do.
Thaddeus's damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Ravager damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5, 1 piercingThe first Ravager leaps at you, Impaling himself on your blade to stive at you. it dies, of course, but it's blade draws blood, and it's compatriots are circling, trying to get a strike in.

Should I edit my HP on my character page then? That's 3 damage.
I keep my guard up, withdrawing my blade from the Ravager's flesh. It's three to one, and I'm still winning. Mersiel might offer a bit of kindness to you lot...in the afterlife.
I rush forward towards another Ravager and swing my blade at him. The blood of his brother arcing off into the air as it comes down.

well, good job, between your shouting, and Belym's attack, they have no doubt who's in charge here. they are charging, and will close in a moment. The militia will still take a minute or so to organize and attack, til then, you're on your own (except for Belym). what do you do?

Yes you should update it, and are you going to push your luck, and take +1d6 damage, or stay safe?
