Belym, any other tricks up your sleeve?

He can hear the fighting in front of him and yells, Form up on Yarrow's Hill!

My character's Schtick is giving out battlefield commands. I'll do it a lot but I want to be clear that I'm not actually ordering you as players to do anything. It's just fluff and please play as you like!

As the rocks fall, the Ravagers are caught in the slide. most of them go tumbling to the bottom of the hill, unfortunately apparently unharmed. two of them, who were off to the side when you began, continue trudging up the hill, much more slowly

yeah, absolutely you can help (with Aid, or with gambit) after the fact, if you can justify it.

You pursue him back to the gate, and you arrive to see a boulder cave in the skull of a massive Ravager. Your quarry joins four who are tring to climb up a hill, toward where Old Ron and some Rock-Slinging Dwarf Wizard, who are engaging another two Ravagers atop the hill.

Well, in that case, two of their assailants break off to handle you. they move quickly, and before you can react, one has buried his blade in you, while another moves to flank you.

Ravager's Blade: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8, 1 piercing.

What do you do?

Sorry I completely missed that the remaining ravager had attacked me again. I guess I thought that the boulder smash was the big one.

Ron watches with grim satisfaction as Thaddeus draws off two of the ravagers approaching their position. Perhaps I misjudged him.

Gain 1 gambit.

Counterattack: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 6) + 2 = 12

Ron uses his spear to turn aside the lone ravager's sword and he slams his shield into its face. As the ravager stumbles backward, Ron follows up with a thrust to the ravager's chest.

Counterattack Damage (Pierce 2): 1d8 ⇒ 5

Time to press the attack.

Change Tactics Aggressive: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 1) + 1 = 6

Spending a gambit to make that a 7. Take -1 forward.

The old soldier pushes the attack, aiming a second thrust at the ravager's face.

Hack & Slash: 2d6 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (3, 5) + 2 - 1 = 9

H&S Damage (Pierce 2): 1d8 ⇒ 5

Ravager's damage to me (Pierce 1): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

5 damage and gain 1 gambit

As the ravager falls, Ron grunts in surprise at the blade sticking out of his thigh. Getting too old for this shit! He pulls the blade from his leg and turns to charge the oncoming ravagers.

Losing remaining defend hold.

Volsung, these seemed like a reasonable series of events. Let me know if I pushed it too far with the rolling.

The Ravager screams in fury at you daring to question his strength. it lashes out with its blade, knocking yours out of your hand. It lands 4-5 meters to your left, and the Ravager is about to strike again. What do you do?

The first attack killed the Ravager. If I may, I will retcon that to be you killing it, and then charging forward to meet the approaching group in battle.

as the lead Reaver falls, The one directly behind him moves to engage you, and the other one is rushing past you to attack Belym. What do you do?

By the way, was that diagram helpful? enough so that it should become a habit?

This is going to hurt.

Ron ignores the ravager charging him and spins with his spear outstreched low.

Damage for ignoring obvious danger (Pierce 1): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Taking 5 damage and taking gambits to 2.

Hack & Slash with spinning spear to trip the ravager rushing past me to attack Belym: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1) + 2 = 6

Spend 1 gambit to make it a 7. Loving this battlemaster class.

Spinning Top Damage to Belym's attacker (Pierce 2): 1d8 ⇒ 4

As Belym's attacker stumbles, Ron screams in pain as the other ravager's blade digs home again.

So you want to be a hero huh? Damage (pierce 1): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

4 more damage, and gambit is now at 2.

The diagram was very helpful! If you want to do it going forward you could probably simplify it.

I grit my teeth in pain as I push forward, in an attempt to avoid getting surrounded. I try and charge through the enemy line, getting near Belym and Ron, knocking the Ravager's weapon aside as I advance.

Defy Danger+STR: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 1) + 1 = 8

Defy Danger+DEX: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (2, 4) + 0 = 6

I would think using strength would be more appropriate, as I'm trying to muscle through the enemy line while they're not focused on me. But either roll could be applicable. I have no clue why it's saying the Ravager's Blade is doing 100d6. That's not even what I wrote. Haha

Fixed it.

I just described the first half of your actions twice, so ill skip to the building

The building is completely engulfed in flames. The good news is that it was just a warehouse, so while Norwhich has lost some supplies, no one was inside. The less good news is that the fire, and shoddy building, has left the building very unstable, it will fall soon

Like, roll to Defy Danger +DEX soon (don't forget your Discern Realities bonus)

A quick roll gets me next to my sword, seeing the Ravager is still charging after me I leave it on the ground to be easy to grab if needed and quickly fire a shot.

Suddenly realizing exactly what's about to happen, Belym yelps as she flings herself away from the warehouse. Defy Danger: Dex: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 6) + 1 = 10

Glancing around, she briefly contemplates the hole she created in the city wall (I didn't think I hit it that hard. That's going to be awkward if anyone was paying attention to how that happened), before turning her attention to the giant ravager slumped in the hole. Where do these larger specimens come from?

Question: just how big are the giant ones? Also, spouting lore to see if I'd overheard anyone talking about these during my exile in human lands:

Spout Lore: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 1 = 7
