Awesome that they have so many avatars that work for Mouseguard.

Now I'm pondering GMing a game of the Veil (pbta Cyberpunk) here on the forums.

I'd be into that. How's The Veil different from The Sprawl?

The Sprawl is mission based like Blades in the Dark (think shadowrun). The Veil is more about interpersonal relationships in a transhumanist world (think Ghost in the Shell).

This is a good reddit thread on the differences. Fraser Simons, author of the Veil (and all around great guy), pops his head into that thread to talk about it.

Full disclosure, it isn't a genre I've played around with much, and I'll need to do a deep dive first to learn the ins and outs of the system. I'll get back to you both when I decide to pull the trigger.

I'd have to take a peek at the rules, but I'm tempted.

From what I can tell it’s less about cyberpunk and more about post-human. I’m excited.

I don't think this other game I'm considering is really about Faustian pacts either, but anyway...

2) Oh my goodness, this looks like a fun one. I love any system that meshes roleplay with mechanics.

I don't see an Awakened playbook. I was eyeing the Catabolist, Architect, or Apparatus, but I'm still reading. The Wayward and Executive caught my eye too.

My first thought was a matryoshka-themed character based on the fates. An organic invalid (Lachesis) with a robotic telepresence robot (Atropos), and third digital avatar (Clotho). Just looking for where that might fit...

I can see some fun potential with executive...

I think I can be randomly assigned a playbook and be happy. All of them have so much potential. Like Masks, it’s about the themes you want to explore.

I had meant the apparatus. Was working from half- remembered detail of the kickstarter something about approaching humanity from the other side has a tendency to appeal to me.

This entire table has priority. I just want to game with you all more.

The Veil deals with Cyberpunk, tranhumanist characters that don't have stats they have emotional states ... some players act better while happy, some while sad. So your success or failure is determined by how you decide your character feels at the moment. I'm interested to see how that pans out, because it kind of necessitates role play explaining the emotional choice.

It isn't mission based like the Sprawl. In fact, I think it isn't really a ... here is a party traveling together game so much as a ... here are a group of people living separate lives that interact in interesting and tragic ways. I'll ask the creator if that is correct, and prob watch a few APs before we get started.

The frustrating thing is how there doesn't seem to be any external routes for news. Their Twitter obviously doesn't realize their site was down for a day.

We did Dread. Not exactly helpful for PbP. (uses a Jenga tower)

There are so many Stranger Things games, it’s insane!

Kids on Bikes, tales from the loop, bubble gumshoe, Little fears. You could reskin Monster of the week and run that.
