"Where is your body? I want to burn it after I'm done with the mutilation."
"Tell me where your closest living relative is. I need a blood sacrifice, and it works better when someone related to them stabs them in the back."
"Does this make my butt look big?"
Seriously though, I don't have any ideas right now.

Mini, do you subscribe to the 'Prescriptive & Descriptive" model of move acquisition, specifically in this instance in regards to the cleric moves Deity and Divine Guidance?

Might be worth describing what you mean here.
Also, not so sure about Divine Guidance, but Deity doesn't really work here, at least with the given choices. None of these domains map to Auhra.

in the simpler vernacular (sorry, I'm feeling eloquent today) when you take this move, you devote yourself to a deity in the fiction (move first. or prescriptive), and if, in the fiction, you devote yourself to a deity, you get these moves (Moves second, or descriptive)
and, as for the deity move, it is very hackable "The wind and sky" is a pretty good domain (According to Adam, those domains are there specifically to prevent players from selecting prohibitively narrow domains, and to give them some guidance.) And that domain is pretty similar to the ones listed. and I've found that you can pretty safely invert any of the domains, and they are still pretty good (the god of blight and devastation, the god of primal nature... etc.) so maybe "What stands above?" if we want to stik closer to RAW.
and of course, this is all up to mini, so I'll stop backseat GMing.

So...would I have Deity as a move, but not Divine Guidance? Or neither? I'm a little confused.
If you want to compare notes, I have a spoiler below. I'm sure Ys can make any clarifications themselves on what they meant and whether they agree with this.
It's not a matter of "I'm going to devote myself to X!" and boom, moves. To go into more general terms, it's a matter of whether we're allowed to acquire moves by going to special lengths in the fiction to acquire them. A prior example I've found on the internet is of a fighter devoting a large amount of their time to studying a spellbook, and often spending a lot of time learning from the Wizard (or a wizard) in order to gain the necessary understand of magic to use it themselves. In this instance, the moves you would gain are Cast a Spell, Spellbook, and Prepare Spells.
The PDF itself gives an example on this matter, where an example character acquires the attention of a god, and after being blessed by one of their avatars, is under that deity's watch and can now "fulfill Petitions and gain boons like a Cleric." In effect, they have the moves Deity and Divine Guidance.
Special things in the fiction granting moves. Put as many or as little requirements and such as you wish, but that's the principle. Of course, fictional happenings can also cause you to lose the effects or the ability to use a move. Our example would lose his benefits if he managed to get on the deity's bad side. A fighter loses the benefits of their signature weapon if it's lost or destroyed. I would have been pretty stuffed in that regard too had I lost my wings earlier. Those things aren't velcro.
This all make sense?
While I'm here:
I'm sure it'll be fine, Sora. What could go wrong?
Everything. But more specifically, lots and lots of fire.

You can have a deity Sora, in fact I support you determining the details but you do not get any moves associated with it until you take a level in the class that provides the move (not sure if your class gives you that or not off hand)
I.e. No moves without leveling. That's just a path I'm not prepared to go down I am 100% sure I will lose control of the situation.
But you don't have to have the move to start building your church and preaching. In fact it makes more sense to me that you would do that first.
That said in regards to a signature weapon or your wings I wouldn't take away something and not give recourse to get it back. That's just a dick move. Had your wing been mangled I'm pretty sure there would have been an opportunity to get it healed or get a prosthetic. A fighter would be able to reforge etc. I'm not a fan of permanently going a player. Maybe temporarily but that's all.

I think I'm mainly concerned with the "Deity" move as book-keeping, since it does nothing on its own. Plus, it means I have it ready for when I do have any moves that rely on it.
I understand, though. As long as I'm able to "Find a way to commune" with Auhra, I should be fine. As the first goal, and the one the basically lets me ask what she wants me to do, it's something I have to manage.
Whenever you wish to preach, it's important to know what you're preaching. You're trying to convey something, and if you don't know what that is, that's going to cause issues.

okay, what I have is an atavistic religion (well, a good number have converted to the gods of "civilization). basically, the god we worship were... unimpressed by the tribal people on the plains of death, they ignored them, and as such never gained worshipers among them. instead, they put their faith in the greatest power that was near them, the beasts of the plains. in their worship, they tattooed, or ritually scarred, the images of animals onto themselves (you can learn a lot about an orcs aspirations and station by their tattoos)
if that conflicts too much, just use yours

Hey guys, sorry I've been so quiet this past week. I can't explain why, but it's been really difficult to force myself to sit down and update the campaigns I'm in, both as a player and as a DM. I regret leaving you all hanging for this long and I don't intend to abandon ship, if you'll all still have me; I just need to get back into my creative mindstate and this flu I had for a few days recently really took it out of me.
As soon as I'm able to, I'll resume my regular schedule. I'll be trying every day...I'm just finding it very difficult to focus and just think. My mind is very...unsettled. Anxious. I don't know what kind of mental fugue I'm in but I want to get through it and be done. I don't like struggling this much just to write a few simple paragraphs of text.
Sorry about this, guys. I feel like I fall off my regular posting schedule all too often, every month practically, and all I have to say is that I'm thankful to be able to come back and rejoin my online gaming crew.
Just wanted to give you all an update so you don't think I died or something. :)

Sorry, also have been ill.
My thought was to have orcs worship a god of minstrels as one of their gods. They are renowned for their ability to tell epic tales, some even claim it's magical or divine. While rare, the sight of an orc with an instrument is inspirational to people because a night of epic tales and legends told by an orc is a night that elders tell their grandchildren about and royalty pay handsomely for.

I'm still interested, as long as the game is going on. I've been keeping up-to-date with the thread, but I hadn't really seen an opportunity to say anything in the game, so I was planning on just waiting until the scene changed; but I see that others may have been waiting on my waiting, which, I suppose, explains why there hasn't been much progress, so I regret my part in that.

I just wasn't sure what to do here. Things were going nowhere, and I didn't feel like resorting to more violent means was something that Sora would do here. As it is, I have to get used to the character again.
Thankfully, Ys is getting trigger-happy, which deals with the issue for us on things happening.
Reno's currently out of commission by the way, Ys. Personal stuff. Hope they're feeling better soon.
...it might just be because I just rolled a miss, but do you want to hear a couple of things about miss handling, Mini? It's just on my mind right now. Just in case you haven't heard the things I have in mind.
