Dungeon Master S |

The plan on Slack seems to be popular. I'll ask that people place themselves. When you're ready, I'll roll for initiative. If no one posts that they're ready by 8 am on Monday, I'll assume you're still talking in place when the orcs attack. :-)

Dungeon Master S |

Omast isn't shy about his plan, now that he's sober, "I'll push enemies around the battlefield, forcing them into positions where you can flank or hit'em from cover. I built myself up a mean stop cut, so if any of them buggers comes through with a super mean looking axe, I'll aim for the axe when they don't expect it. FOR TRUNAU!"

Dungeon Master S |

The party finishes up the plan and defenses as orcs hurl all manner of incendiary weapons at the one portcullis between them and a full on assault.
Before you're quite ready (for would you ever truly be ready for this?) the gate shatters into a million splinters!

Hamilton Renaud |

Hamilton shoots the first Orc through the door (Green) with his longbow.

...Which does NOT hit. He curses looks down to make sure the Guisarme is within reach for when it counts.

Raen Varkath |

Raen listens closely to the sound of detritus striking the portcullis. The orcs are close, and she can feel it. The team is in position, and she holds a ready scroll in hand. Now.
She shuts her eyes. Before her, she sees a gatehouse of wood and stone, a resting place for the watchers on the wall. She witnesses its destruction as a massive boulder flung from some great distance plunges through its thatched roof in an explosion of timber. The remains of the keystone arch lie shattered atop wattle and daub siding rent into a dozen sections. Beams as thick as the halfling's middle punch out of the rubble at odd angles, snapped like twigs underfoot in a forest of battered straw.
She opens her eyes to witness the illusion on the field, and she waits.
I mis-remembered the maximum area I can illusify in my haste this afternoon, so if the DM is okay with an amendment, I've adjusted the total area.
* * *
"Here they come," Raen mutters, still holding the illusion together. Once the portcullis is finally pulled apart, she pushed the image from her mind -- though it still stands there, looming and silent behind the gate. It will remain for 1 round. She hurries as far forward as she dares, utters a few choice words, and the scroll in her hand turns to oil that flies toward the gate. It splashes (heroically) before the onrushing horde. DC 11 because scroll.
"Get ready with those logs," she calls.

Dungeon Master S |

Doxon draws first blood! The bolt slams into an orc. He immediately breaks the arrow off and continues forward!
Raen continues with her battlefield control. Omast moves up and fires from his heavy crossbow before dropping it: ATK: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 for DMG: 1d10 ⇒ 9. He takes an orc in the face!
THE HORDE COMETH

Green: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2 GAH! The orc slips, falls, and stands back up.
The other orcs rush the defenses. One hangs back and hurls a javelin at Raen: Javelin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9, but it lands in the barricade.

With a deft chop, the chord is severed!
The shaman grins.

While it floats, he beats his chest with his right hand and then grabs it. He hurls it with deadly force. ATK: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 4 = 19

Omast takes the time to reload his crossbow, and with a shout of "TRUNAU!" he lets fly: ATK v. White: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 for DMG: 1d10 ⇒ 7. The bolt slams into the orc's heart, dropping him dead.

The confidence shows itself as Whistle Pig and Raen both strike the first orcs to turn the corner! They aren't stopped, and rush the baricade.
