Correct me if I do this incorrectly.

Knowing full well that it's an ambush, the party, now veterans to battle prepares action of their own.

Hamilton gets himself ready, shield up and blade defensive. He steps through the folding of space brought forth by Vael. The orcs weren't expecting that, and they miss their chance. Their readied actions don't include a trigger of a bampfing hero.

Doxon heads to the base of the ladder, when both orcs hurl javelins down at him. This in turn causes Raen to have the moment she needs. Raen shoots a ray of blinding light into the orc's eyes.

Anyone who gets to the top floor:

From atop the eastern tower, you can see lower Trunau and the craggy hills beyond the town’s walls. To the northwest, just on the other side of the Barterstones, a group of orcs is operating a catapult, bombarding the guard tower above the Hopespring with flaming boulders. To the west, another massive boulder smashes into one of the town’s guard towers, which collapses into a heap of rubble. In addition, small groups of orc raiders can still be seen charging toward the town’s main gate. You can make out the forms of mounted Trunauan guards charging a group of orcs to the north who are accompanying a monstrous giant hurling boulders at Trunau’s palisade!!!!

Although sweat is pouring down his face, he channels his own spiritual energy, surrounding himself for the first time. The motes of starlight surround him, then pull...

...his vision flashes, the world changing from the tower in Trunau to the infinite void of space. The stars beyond provide a speckled backdrop, and a distant sun beams a benevolent warmth. Vael looks at his hands, seeing only a bizzare black translucence. He feels weightless, joined with the heavens in a way he's never experienced before. And just as quickly, the vision ends...

With a popping noise Vael appears on the roof. Warhammer in hand, the dwarf moves up beside the drummer.

Vael settles into his own power and ability, appearing on the tower top.

Whistle Pig's built sails towards the skald, only to miss by the thinnest of hairs! The stone instead hits the drum, and since the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection, it comes back and hits the skald in the nose! Go halfling!

Don't forget to read the spoiler above when you get to the top. Also, think of the visual from the orcs' perspective; the enemy keeps popping into existence and coming at you as even more come up the stairs.
